It's log time again. I want to apologize to Marc and the Scivation crew for the log being delayed. I was finishing up a NOS ether log. Also wanna thank them for letting me test Anagen. Anyway let's get this show on the road.

Height: 5'11
Weight: 227.4
Bodytype: Ecto
Training Experience: 5 yrs
Age: 24
Sex: Male

I will be bulking throughout this log

I will be evaluating strength, weight gain, muscle fullness, pumps, recovery, vascularity, any side effects, and other things i experience while on Anagen.

Current training split:
Mon: Chest
Tues: Back
Wed: Legs
Thurs: Shoulders
Fri: Arms

Other supps: Mass meal, Ergopharms I-pro, ON's Optimen.

***NOTE*** I will NOT be on Xtend or any other BCAA's during this log. Since ive never tried an Ecdy product i wanna see how good it may/may not be for recovery and while on BCAA's my DOMS is pretty much non-existent so i wanna give an accurate review.

My dosing for Anagen is 5 caps spread throughout the day. 1 with breakfast, 1 with lunch, 1 pre workout, 1 post workout, and 1 before bed.

Diet: Pretty much everything. I eat a lot of beef, chicken, turkey, eggs, milk, cheese, oats, nuts, etc. I will binge a little bit and have a pizza or something from a fast food place but i try to minimize that as much as possible.

Day 1: Back

Day 1 Report: Nothing really to report as it's the first day. I will say the pills have a funky taste to them.

Exercises/Sets/Reps/Weight:

Pull ups: 4 sets of 10 @ BW+55lbs

Lat pulldowns: 3 sets of 10 @ 175lbs

One arm d/bell rows: 3 sets of 10 @ 130lbs

Cable rows: 3 sets of 10-12-10 @ 172lbs

Will report back tommorrow after Legs.

Day 2: Legs

Day 2 Report: Again nothing really to report as it's only the second day. I bet my legs will be sore tommorrow though. Ive been off Xtend since Monday.

Exercises/Sets/Reps/Weight:

Smith machine front squats: 4 sets of 10 @ 215lbs

D/bell lunges: 3 sets of 10 w/35lb dumbells in each hand

D/bell squats: 2 sets of 20 @ 75lb dumbell's in each hand

Leg ext. 3 sets of 12 @ 155lbs

Leg curls: 2 sets of 10 @ 135lbs and 1 set of 8 @ 140lbs

Shoulders tommorrow. Will report back after my workout.

Well they're done on the smith machine so that makes a lot of difference. Id be lucky to get 165 on front squats with free weights b/c of the bar putting a lot of pressure on my shoulders.

Day 3: Shoulders

Day 3 Report: Had a nice workout even though my diet sucked ass today. I was on the go all day and couldnt get my normal meals in. Still felt energized for the gym though.

Exercises/Sets/Reps/Weight:

Seated d/bell press: 3 sets of 8 @ 100lbs(finally hit the 100's. They were hard as hell to get up too)

Behind the neck press: 3 sets of 10 @ 140lbs

D/bell laterals: 4 sets of 10 @ 52lbs

B/bell shrugs: 4 sets of 15 @ 365lbs

Smith Machine upright rows: 3 sets of 12 @ 105lbs

Day 4


Decided to take today off. I'm about to go grocery shopping instead b/c i need some food bad.

I plan on getting up tommorrow morning and hitting arms. Will report back then.

^^^Excellent outline. I am also very curious to see how the ecdys in Anagen work for you without taking the free form AAs. If the ecdy is as good at promoting protein synthesis as it is proposed to be, then I suppose they would not be needed. Again, excellent idea.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Well if I am not looking for something within this test I really wish you had posted in my log about 16 days ago so I could make it better. I write down everything so if you need more just ask. If there are other things that people are looking for within this test please post them. That way we are able to do a better test. Perfect timing last bottle and my xtend will be out by tommorrow. I can begin the next workout.

Don't even fret it bro, your log is structured very well. I'm thinking he just meant a log that didn't have any other recovery type products involved (ie bcaas) since most of us other Anagen testers run a BCAA/EAA product (myself included)

However, I'm more of the opinion that once you've been on a product for a while you can tell the difference between the results you've had from product A and any additional benefit reaped from product B.

most of us other Anagen testers run a BCAA/EAA product (myself included)

FYI - I'm not supplementing with any free form amino acids either -- though in the radio interview Chuck Rudolph? said they would be greatly beneficial alongside Anagen (course their always beneficial)


still at college = using basic supplements (too broke for everything)

Day 5 Report: Sorry about the late update. I went and trained then went to Memphis. Anyway had a good workout. I busted out some reps on triceps for a change in pace. Other than that nothing really to report.

D/bell curls: 3 sets of 8-6-6 @ 60lbs

Preacher Curls: 1 set of 12 @ 100lbs and 2 sets of 10-8 @ 105lbs

Cable Curls: 2 sets of 12 @ 120lbs

Hammer curls: 3 sets of 12-15-15 @ 42lbs

Two handed behind the neck d/bell ext. 3 sets of 15 @ 70lbs

Tricep Pushdowns with V-bar: 3 sets of 15 @ 155lbs

Overhead rope ext. 3 sets of 15 @ 110lbs

Off tommorrow. Will post my chest workout on Mon.

Day 7 Report: Had a good workout today. It was one those days where everything was in the "groove". I completely killed my chest today with 21 sets so it better be sore tommorrow :)

Day 8: Back

Day 8 Report: Had a pretty decent workout. Nothing spectacular. My chest is actually sore today. First time i've felt DOMS in a long time.

Exercises/Sets/Reps/Weight:

Pull ups: 3 sets of 10 @ BW+60lbs

T-bar rows: 3 sets of 10-10-12 @ 225lbs

Lat pulldowns: 3 sets of 12 @ 175lbs

One arm D/bell rows: 3 sets of 10 @ 132lbs

Day 9: Legs

Day 9 Report: Sorry i couldnt report last night. We had some pretty bad storms and it knocked the power out at my apartment. Anyway i did Marc's leg workout and i must say it is pretty brutal. If you are gonna do it you have to leave your ego at the door that's for sure. I'm not scared to admit that i only had 135lbs on the bar by the time i got to squats. My quads are pretty sore but damn my hamstrings are killing. It's hard to bend down today and pick up anything. As far as the Anagen goes one thing i'm noticing so far is muscle fullness. Other than that nothing really to report.

Exercises/Sets/Reps/Weight:

Leg curls: 3 sets of 20 @ 75lbs

Leg ext. 3 sets of 25-25-25 @ 80lbs

D/bell lunges: 4 sets of 20 @ 20lbs in each hand (the lunges were by far the hardest to accomplish IMO)

One legged leg press: 4 sets of 20-20-17-16 @ 115lbs (i really liked the one legged leg press. I'm gonna start using it more often)

Squats: 3 sets of 20 @ 135lbs (it calls for 4 sets but i couldnt do another one. If i did i would have woke up in a hospital bed :D )

Will report back with shoulders tonight. We are suppose to get some more storms in tonight so if i dont report back then you'll know the power was knocked out again.

Day 10 Report: I think this has been my best workout since being on Anagen. Everything felt good tonight.

Seated d/bell press: 3 sets of 10-8-9 @ 100lbs

Seated behind the neck press: 1 set of 12 @ 140lbs and 2 sets of 10 @ 145lbs

D/bell laterals: 3 sets of 10-10-12 @ 52lbs

D/bell front raises: 3 sets of 12 with a 2 second hold at the top @ 32lbs

D/bell shrugs: 3 sets of 15 @ 110lbs and 1 set of 12 @ 115lbs

B/bell shrugs: 3 sets of 15 @ 370lbs

Got arms tommorrow and cant wait to bust em out.

Day 11 Report: Another great workout today. I guess the Anagen is finally kicking in. I had good energy in the gym tonight and the muscle fullness is def. becoming more noticeable. Such a great feeling when you put a shirt on and it "snugs" to your body :D

Exercises/Sets/Reps/Weight:

Preacher curls: 1 set of 12 @ 100lbs and 2 sets of 10 @ 105lbs

Standing d/bell curls: 3 sets of 8 @ 60lbs

Incline d/bell curls: 3 sets of 10-9-8 @ 45lbs

Hammer curls: 3 sets of 8 @ 55lbs

Two handed behind the neck d/bell ext. 3 sets of 10 @ 95lbs

Dips: 3 sets of 12 @ w/BW+45lbs

V-bar tricep pushdowns: 3 sets of 12 @ 170lbs

Off Sat. and Sun. Will report back on Mon. after my chest workout.

Day 14: Chest

Day 14 Report: Had a pretty decent workout. Not throwing any numbers around since being on Anagen(strength wise) but that's not my goal. The main two things i'm noticing are muscle fullness and better recovery. I'm also still noticing better mood and being more relaxed throughout the day. The muscle fullness has been awesome so far. It's almost like i'm taking a cell volumizing creatine prouduct. Considering i'm not on BCAA's right now i'm pretty satisfied with the recovery as well. The longest i'm sore is a day and on smaller muscles such as shoulders and arms i'm barely sore at all, if any.


Believe it or not the workout yesterday was the same as last weeks. I didnt spend too much time in the gym b/c i had to start studying for my last final which i'm about to go take.

I have back today and i will be reporting that workout when i get home from the gym. Later

Day 15: Back

Day 15 Report: Had a short and sweet workout. I went in and busted everything out and left. Still noticing good muscle fullness and recovery. My chest is a little sore but not much. Overall pretty happy with the Anagen.

T-bar rows: 3 sets of 12 @ 225lbs

One arm d/bell rows: 3 sets of 10 @ 135lbs

Lat pulldowns: 3 sets of 10 @ 180lbs

Cable rows: 3 sets of 12 @ 175lbs

Day 16 Report: This was one of the best leg workouts ive had in a long time. I was focused and ready to lift. Muscle fullness is still up as well.

Exercises/Sets/Reps/Weight:

One legged leg press: 4 sets of 12 @ 180lbs

Smith machine front squats: 3 sets of 10-10-12 @ 220lbs

D/bell lunges: 3 sets of 12 @ with 35lb d/bell in each hand

Leg ext. 3 sets of 10-12-12 @ 160lbs

Leg curls: 3 sets of 10-10-12 @ 140lbs

Got shoulders tommorrow. Will report back after my workout.

Day 17: Shoulders

Day 17 Report: Had a good shoulder workout. Felt focused and had good energy. Legs are pretty sore today which i like :) Other than that still noticing the muscle fullness and good mood.


Exercises/Sets/Reps/Weight:

Seated d/bell press: 3 sets of 7-7-6 @ 105lbs(these damn things are hard as hell to get up. That's more work than the press itself lol)

Seated behind the neck press: 3 sets of 10 @ 145lbs

D/bell laterals: 3 sets of 10 @ 42lbs (lowered the weight on these some so i could feel my delts working a little better. The 52's were pretty heavy for me last week and I was throwing the weight up too much instead of raising it like i should)

D/bell front raises: 3 sets of 10 @ 35lbs

B/bell shrugs: 4 sets of 15 @ 370lbs

Got arms tommorrow and cant wait to bust em out. Later

Day 18 Report: Busted out some arms today. Had a good workout. Was focused and ready to lift some weight. Recovery is still up along with the muscle fullness. I'm not noticing the muscle fullness as much anymore b/c i'm used to it by now.

Standing d/bell curls: 3 sets of 10-8-8 @ 60lbs

Preacher curls: 3 sets of 8-10-10 @ 105lbs

Concentration curls: 3 sets of 10 @ 45lbs

Anyways the Anagen is still going great. My diet hasnt been on par at all this week b/c of all the running around but yet i still have muscle fullness and the recovery is still up. Since i havent had my cals up to where they should be this week i can def. see how Anagen is good for ppl in calorie defecient states or cutting. As for other things my libido is up slightly and my back is broke out a little bit but nothing serious.

Day 24 Report: Everything is still going good. Same as usual. Nothing new to report that i already havent.

Day 28 Report: Nothing really new to report. Everything is still there. Better recovery, muscle fullness, and mood. I also weighed in this past Sunday at 230. Up three lbs since starting the log.

Incline b/bell press: 3 sets of 8 @ 240lbs

Just wanna give an update. This will be my last week on Anagen so i will be giving my final review during the weekend sometime. Everything is still going good on it. Nothing has really changed since my last post.

FINAL REVIEW!!!


Well the log has come to an end. I will be taking my last 5 caps tommorrow so i figured i would go ahead and write my review tonight. Again i would like to thank Marc and the Scivation crew for letting me test Anagen. So now for the review.

Strength: I didnt throw up any spectacular numbers around while on Anagen but that wasnt my goal. Strength was pretty consistent.

Weight gain: I gained 3lbs while i was on Anagen. I guess that's decent. I was expecting a little more though to be honest but i i'll take anything i can get right now before i start cutting in another couple months.

Recovery: Ok this is where Anagen really shined for me. I had great recovery on Anagen. Alot more than i expected. Add in some BCAA's with Anagen and that should be a killer combo for DOMS and recovery. Very happy about the recovery.

Muscle Fullness: The muscle fullness from Anagen was good for about the first 3 weeks than i guess i just didnt notice it as much anymore after that. I was getting comments the whole time while i was on Anagen though about looking bigger than normal.

Vascularity: Had a slight increase but nothing major.

Pumps: Haha. Somedays were better than others.

Mood: Another great thing about Anagen. I think the addition of Rhodiola and Bacopa was a good idea. I loved the mood i had on it. Very relaxed and composed throughout the day.

Side Effects: Really about the only side effect i had was an increase in acne on my back and shoulder area. No big deal really as long as i didnt get it on my face :D

Overall i was pretty satisfied with it. If i ever do try Anagen again sometime in the future i will def. use it with a creatine product and BCAA's and prolly up the dosage to 6-7 caps a day. For the price i think it's def. worth a shot though.
