I am currently on a ketogenic diet, and am currently sick. Since i havent taken a week off in over 3 months, i figure now as good a time as any. I have two questions.
Should i continue on with keto or switch to carbs for my week off?
Should I maintain a calorie deficit to continue droppiong weight? ( wont i loose extra muscle mass cuz im not lifting?)
Any responses are greatly appreciated

From the stickies i read from 2001 they said that going back to carbs for a week or two then coming bck into keto was never an issue and sometimes actually helped gains. So I say go for it if you've been ketogenic for 3 months.

only if he hasnt been doing carb ups. if ur sick and not training at all however i would steer clear of going back on carbs, theres a chance u'll plop on some fatty tissue. if ur not lifting for only ONE WEEK u wont lose mass. may even do ur muscles good to have a rest. the only time u lose muscle is in circumstances of physical exertion and large calorie defecit.
id suggest u just eat at or below maintenance and save ur cheat if u really need it for wen ur a little more active than sitting on the couch taking antibiotics
