I'm sure I'm not the only one that likes these events, with the Native American ond Mountain Man arts and crafts, knife and tomahawk throwing, traditional archery contests, and the old style costumes and food, ect.
While i was waiting for the pain to begin at the dentist's office yesterday, I noticed a flyer on the board that said one of these events would be in my town this weekend. I'm so psyched. I hope they allow modern design knives for the knife throwing contest, since I only have Hibben Style throwers.
Hopefully I can pick up a tomahawk cheaply, too.

Been to rendevous in Monatana, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. New mexico was a joke and a bad memory.
Loved the ones in the high country and it is a hoot to stand in the same mountains as all the famous mountain me.
Lots of people in Montana don't just talk the talk they live the life the entire year..I highly suggest you check out the Billings Montana web site and see what they have if you get the bug...Warning---one night in Billings and you might come home and sell your stuff and move...
Don't worry about your Knives they will figure out a way let you throw..

Oh, I know about the alure of Montana. My Aunt and Uncle had a small ranch up there that they recently sold, and I've seen lots of pictures. They moved to a house right on Flathead Lake, and the pictures they brought back made me instantly want to move there.
I was planning on visiting this summer and going to my cousin's wedding, but my recent medical and dental problems will pretty much use up my entire vacation check this year. :(
Back on topic, I think the event in town this weekend will be more of a Native American and Trapper Arts and Crafts Show than a full blown rondezvous, but it should be fun all the same. There's going to be a bullwhip demonstration and of course the archery and knife/hawk throwing.
The weather will be perfect for it. Sunny and in the 50's tomorrow and Sunday.

Well, I had a great time this weekend. The weather was beautiful, and the Rondezvous was pretty fun. It was a pretty small event, mostly just a fundraiser so they can get insurance for their big event this summer.
I bought a $25 Hawk that throws pretty good.
