I've been getting pretty much no fiber while I'm on keto. What do you all do and are there any good supplements? I've seen some like Golden Flaxseed but it has 80 calories per serving and to get enough fiber from it I would have to eat like 500 calories from it alone.

Are you not eating fiberous veggies?

Fiber is way overrated. I stopped having constant bloating and infrequent stool after I dropped fiber and added more fat.
I wild link you to more threads on the topic if I wasn't on my phone :p

What is it? And aren't there a lot of carbs?

Keep in mind OoFaP that if you are to eat fiberous vegetables and fiber cannot be digested and is passed. Well if you have a veggie that has 6g of carbs but 3 of those are fiberous you are really only gettign 3g of carbs towards your total.

I bought some soya bran cereal, 20g of total carbs 15g of which come from fiber, so it's a win win situation for me =) I can eat cereal topped with cream and soya milk and it's keto friendly too....

Well I eat eggs, cheese, whey. When all that adds up I get around 25 grams of carbs without even eating any real carbs.

Ok, Eggs are 0.6 carbs per egg, Cheese is 0.9 carbs per 1oz, and whey protein if you got the right stuff should only have 3-5....
how in the hell are you eating 25g?

truth of the matter is, its not really going to hurt you, and you do actually lose more weight quicker this way. As long as you are taking multis, you will live, but its not the idea way to do this, not to mention you will fall into the famous ignorant line of, "Oh low carb? all you eat is meat and cheese".

Whey has 3 grams per serving. I have up to 3.5 servings of that which is around 10 grams. I have around 10 string cheeses a day. Each one says less than 1 gram of carbs but I count it as 1 gram. That's about 20 grams there and then various sauce and stuff on meat that I have for dinner bumps it around 25. I guess I can eat some broccoli.

Soya milk is made from beans, taste similar to regular cows milk, just pick unsweetened as sweetend contains carbs, unsweetend has about 0.1g carbs per 100ml and 0.5g fiber with roughly 2-3g protein and 20-30kcals depending upon the brand.

10 string cheeses? thats to much cheese my friend, boil some eggs as snacks, hell munch on some pork skins if you can, but not that much cheese.
Are you taking in 3 shakes a day? if so cut one out, use for pre and post is you want.

theres a reason why good foods like beef, eggs, fish have no fiber and bad carb filled foods do. Don't believe lies.

Ok I followed your link and went to the first myth and it stated that to get the recommended amount of fiber you have to eat X amount of Fruit, it shows a picture of the fruit for dramatic effect and then rants about how much sugar it is. The fact that the author doesn't list any fiberous veggies leads me to seriously doubt his crediblity.

I have the book on my to read list actually but my point is that his first myth is this attack on fiber becuase to get the daily recommended amount you have "eat all this fruit which is just sugar and who would do that?" which does not show 100% objectivity. It sounds like him hyping himself. I will read the book and see what he has to say but I'll broach the subject with more than a little caution as the listing of myths doesnt' strike me as 100% reliable are scientific. Thats all i'm saying on the subject no need to take this thread down in a flame war.

Forget the book, look at the Inuit Eskimos. They had a fiber free diet and were perfectly healthy.
If you're having constipation try 1500mg Magnesium (citrate, aspartate, chloride, or orotate)

you're comparing a crash dieting society to a group of people that have been eating a certain way for over a thousand years... i mean, really?

Spinach has an excellent carb to fiber ratio. I used fozen spinach with eggs, spinach for ceasar salads, and spinach with steak.

Keto is a lifestyle for a lot of people on these boards so I don't think that comparison is too far fetched.
All I'm saying is that if you don't get enough fiber it isn't the end of the world.
As i said before my constipation/bloating STOPPED when i quit fiber and I have been more regular since.

Foods with fiber bloat me out, give me indigestion and really bad runs, about 2 hours after eating them :( maybe my bodytype is not meant to digest plant matter.

seriously... i've been on keto for like, 3 days, and I'm totally bunged up. i'm having broccoli and spinach with my dinner. I seem to be more prone to needing fiber in my diet in order for my digestive system to work properly.
Lemonzest

It gets better, i go #2's about 2-3 times a day, being bunged up at the start is normal, and on keto there is less "waste" in the food as the body uses most of the food for energy/rebuilding etc.

What's wrong with 10 string cheeses? I have 5 before bed and 5 during the day in school for convenience. I replaced 2 scoops of whey and 2 servings of olive oil with 4 jumbo eggs with melted cheddar cheese so I only get 1 scoop of whey a day now, 2 on workout days.
So I already have eggs, I rather not eat pork skins whatever they are, and I have some kind of meat like roast beef on weekends instead of 5 of the string cheeses.
