View Full Version : Help! Jan Tana Problems!

My figure competition is on Saturday. For tanning, I got Jan Tana Show Tan and Jan Tana Competition tan.
I applied two coats of show tan today, then showered tonight... and was going to apply the 2nd two coats tomorrow, as instructed. Then, I was going to apply the competition tan on the day of the show (two coats).
BUT, when I showered, it all came off! Is that supposed to happen? What did I do wrong? ANY advice is appreciated, I'm freaking out! Thanks in advance!

did it ALL come off or is what you saw just residue? i know with pro-tan, after two coats i jump in the shower and rinse off all the residue, quite a bit comes off in the shower

hes right, the residue will come off but your skin will still be darker. i find that you need to rub jan tana on your body, wait a little while, then pat the area. jan tana does give kind of a streaky look but its fine. i would apply 2 coats in the AM and 2 more in the PM tomorrow. i wouldnt shower and scrub my body at this time either. simply hop in the shower to rinse off only and pat yourself dry with a towel. use deoderant and body spray if odor is a problem.

You are right-- I was a bit darker. I guess I was just thinking it would be more of a dramatic look, but that is why I'll continue to add more coats. Thanks so much!

seems like too much hassle to me... what i did for my show was just showering and scrubbing on the last day out, then applying 1 coat of self tanner after the showering, then doing another coat a few hours later. Then applying the final coat on the day of the competition. Then at the show just applying a bronzer. Its the bronzer that gives you that dark look, not the self tanners.

I would say the mistake you made is taking a shower. Don't shower until after the show(only 48 hours from the time of this post) and just keep layering that tanning product on until you are dark enough. Jan Tana will be ok this time, but next time, use ProTan and Dream Tan.
