I have found a national qualifiier to help train me for posing. I used to be a bouncer with him on south beach.

Anyway, for 1 hour of just posing training he is charging $50. This sounds pretty steep to me. But I surely need help with my posing, and good posing trainers are hard to find.

Any thoughts?

I pay a guy I know $20 for a hour of help. He won best poser at our local show last year and really knows what's he's doing. I've only had one session so far but plan to get a few more in before the show (a little over 13 weeks out). I'd say give a session or two a try for sure. You'd be surprised how much you can learn in one hour, and use when you practice on your own.
After he showed me the proper way to do all the mandatories he drilled me for 15 minutes or so, and the sweat was just dripping off me. I realize you can practice on your own, but really, what's $100 or $200 if it can improve your posing dramatically by working with a trainer??

It is worth a session if this is someone experienced and you can learn the basics. Once you know the techniques, it comes down to practice. With all the work and sacrifice of time and finances to train and diet, this is just important if you want to compete well.

I do posing consultations in the NYC/LI area when time permits and also do e mail evaluations with photos and/or video.

My web link is in this section, and if you have any questions fel free to get in touch (usually see e mails quicker than PMs).

Those are insane prices IMO, but if theres no one else experienced to help you, you might as well do it. It only takes 1-2, maybe 3 sessions to learn how to do the poses properly, after which the mirror is your best friend. And it wont charge you anything :).
