training has helped me a lot in basketball. i had a pretty good season. i led my league in 3 pointers made. thanks to the help from people on this board, i've gotten a lot stronger which has helped me out a lot this season, especially since i have narcolepsy and have very low energy levels at times.
so far i only have 2 game tapes- one that my dad taped and the other that i got from my coach. he is giving me all the game tapes, 1 at a time, so i can make a highlight reel of myself. here's 2 game highlights that i mixed into one video. the first game in the video i had 14 points and 4 three pointers and the second i had 13 points and 3 three pointers.

on that play at the 1:45 mark in the video....the refs should have called over and back.
you jumped from the frontcourt, caught the ball and landed in the backcourt...lol.
.
not to be rude, but you should work on shooting the ball from above your head. you're shooting from your waist right now. in a varsity game or any higher league, that'll get blocked every time.
tricep extensions and forearm (wrist extension) exercises help a lot with gaining enough strength to be able to shoot from up higher.
good luck.

You really need to stop shooting from your waist. Like ^^ said, it will get blocked every time if you play against talented players.

ive been shooting like that for song long i don't think ill be able to change it and still be ale to shoot good. and that was varsity ball. i have a quick release so i hardly ever get blocked.

varsity middle school?
you're what? 17 at most?? (assuming you mean that's highschool varsity...but it really doesn't look like that...maybe division 1A or something?)
you have all the time in the world to change your shot. life expectancy is like 70+ years in the US right now, and it will only increase.
that's a cop out. everyone shot like that when they were in middle school, and maybe freshman year of highschool...but we've all practiced and made progressions in our game, and with our shooting form...etc.
michael jordan didn't take his first shot in elementary school with the same form that he did in his 'final shot' vs. utah in 1998.
it doesn't take that long to change your form either. a few solid weeks of practicing the correct way with a few hundred shots a day, and you'll be just as good (except better, because you won't be shooting from your hip)
i even taught myself correct form shooting with my left hand. and now i can make a good percentage of set shots shooting lefty (even though i'm right handed) - and that only took a week.

^^^^ i'm 18. im probably not playing in college or i might play at a really small college so i see no need to change my shot. i shot close to .500% from behind the arc this season, so way change it if it's working? maybe that video makes everyone look small. im a 5-10 2 guard, our starting point guard is about 5-9, and our center is 6-5, our pf is 6-4 and our sf was 6-2 or 6-3.
my 3 ball is the best part of my game. i missed a ton of games because i ****ed my ankle up pretty badly, but i averaged over 2 threes a game and shot 38-77 from behind the arc this season. that's 49.4%.
o and also that's my set shot. i don't shoot like that off the dribble.

if you want to learn, we're here to help.
but apparently that's not your goal.
if you want to be commended for making 2 threes a game with ugly form, i'm not going to do that for you.

Like he said above.....Links dead....
I would listen to all of these guy's good advice. I used to shoot the same way you did when I was in middle school, if I would of shot that way in high school I would of never made a point! I'm not being rude, but unless the people you guys are playing suck! You wont have good luck with that shot. Try shooting one handed, put your hand flat with the ball in it right about the same height as your eye, release with the one hand and follow through so your hand is like a duck when your done. If you need to support the ball, do it with your other hand. I know it sounds stupid but believe me, I did it everyday before practice, we did it durning practice and I did it at home to break my waist habbit, it worked. You might not make all of your shots at first when you switch to this method, but give it time, you will be better than you are now. You dont have to shoot that way but you will have your hand following throught and get the idea. Keep the ball about around your head or so, it will work, trust us!

The reason that I shoot that way is because my hands are extremely small. I have tried to shoot regular before but the ball would always slip out've my hands. And I don't care if my shot's ugly. We played against one of the best teams in the Northeastern US. A Prep School from up north and I hit 3 threes out've 4 attempts. The kid that was guarding me was 5 inches taller than me and I didn't get my shot blocked once. I'd rather shoot with ugly from than shoot the right way and have the ball slip out've my hand of shoot a worse percentage. I shot 49% from behind the line this season. I didn't get a single 3 attempt blocked so I see no reason to chagne it. It's not like I'm trying to play D1 ball or make it to the NBA anyways :). I might not even play college ball even though there are a couple schools I could go to.

practice.
anyone can shoot the correct way if they put in enough time. doesn't matter if your hands are 4 inches long, or 10 inches long.

i haven't seen the video, but your team stats for your age...that is not even an average height team... if you are shooting from your waist with somebody who is agile and over 6'3" guarding you it will get blocked almost every time, **** I'm 6'4" myself but play against taller people than me and shoot correctly and usually have to shoot a fade away with a decent arc to not get it blocked.

maybe it isn't for an intercity team, but for the suburbs of PA that's a decent sized team. and i'm 5'10 and will probably play community college ball for a year and then go to temple where i obviously won't be playing ball anymore, so it's kinda too late to change. my release will be fine for community college basketball. i'll probably play point guard and poitn guards at community colleges aren't usually much taller than 6'0".
right now i'm more focused on lifting weights than basketball, because working out is something ill do all my life. ill always play ball in pickup games and **** like that though. i don't really even have enough energy to lift weights and spend a ton of time working on my game because i have narcolepsy, so going through a hard workout pretty much leaves me dead afterwards. i always shoot around for about 10 or 15 minutes before i lift but right now that's basically all the energy i have for basketball. the season really killed my body.

Like everybody has mentioned before, we are here to help you. Obviously you dont want help, your not taking in anything we say.
You mentioned going to Temple.....I'm not trying to sound rude but if you have a shot like that, you wont even be a bench warmer at Temple. Maybe a community college, but thats it.
You said you live in the suburbs of PA as well right? Try going downtown and playing some streetball. Just show up and join a game, these guy's might not be pro, but I bet you wont get a shot off with them gaurding you. You'll rethink your shooting skills after a game or two.
