OK - I have finally had enough with gym pants that don't fit me properly. I am quite tall and slim with long legs so when I buy pants to wear to gym, they are always baggier then they should be and start falling down during cardio but they are still too short in the leg. (I buy the larger size just for the length). I cringe every time I look at myself in the mirrors because I just look so ridiculous.

I live in Australia so does any one know of any shops or clothing brands that specifically cater for people like me, or are just generally longer than other brands. I'm getting to the point where I'm thinking about making my own.

how tall are you?

5 ft 10.

Generally, I'm between a size 8 and 10 around the waist. I buy size 12 which is still too short. If I want the length, I would have to buy at least a size 14 which is just way too big everywhere else - they just wouldn't stay up.

Hi Kjay! I'm 6' and also have your problem :(. But, i've decided to go the capri route and it has worked out great! I've seen them at Target for a relatively good deal and they are comfy and fit well...and because they are capris you don't really have to worry about the whole "long enough" issue. Good luck :)

I'll give it a shot. I know target do make different length pants for ladies because you always see stickers on them saying "short", "extra short", etc. But they never stock the tall any more - they haven't in the past 5 years. This really fraustrates me because I think, at least if short people buy pants that fit them everywhere else but are too long, they can shorten them. But tall people can't lengthen them.

hi, i am 5'10 also. i buy boy pants, they are always long enough...plus, i feel skinny cuz i have to buy them in a smaller size. :) i also like capris when lifting. when i run though (unless they are 'swooshy') i feel like my butt jiggle is shown off more.lol!!
good luck!

I'm 5'10" also, but am a size 4-6. I've tried the "boy pants" as mentioned earlier, but they are still too short. My height is in my legs, not my torso.

There's a website called Fit Couture that offers some really good looking stuff in tall sizes, but it's pricey. I've never ordered, but am planning to. Maybe just one or two basic black pairs that I can mix with lots of tops. As much time as I spend in the gym, I know I won't feel too bad for spending extra dollars on workout pants. Right now, I wear shorts or the crop pants. Man, was I ever glad to see those things come back into style!!

I'm only 5'7 but I tend to buy the Running Bare Yoga pants. They are long enough they drag on the ground on me - so they should fit you fine!! Plus they are stretchy enough doign squats/deadlifts in them are easy. I get them from my local sports store - think its Sports Power, but Rebal Sports sell them.

I just measured them -they are size 14 and measure 82cms in the inner and 110 from waist to ground. I know the size 12's were the same length, just tighter round the waist. They have a drawstring as well.

...Hmmm I sound like I'm trying to sell them to you dont I :)

I'll check them out tomorrow during my lunch break. I've already tried Adidas and Puma and had no luck. I find that they fit OK in the store, but as soon as I wash them, they shrink (I don't put them in a clothes dryer).

:D i am just glad tall women face my same problem all over the world..
personally, i gave up searching for long-legged pants (except for jeans)-i just go for larger pants and hang them at the hip-bone.. i always thought of me as the 'girl who invented hipsters" ;)
the other day i saw a 5'2" woman wearing ridiculously short pants and i couldn't help but think, "why is she wearing short pants, she 's short and could easily get long ones?".. at that i relaized, that being tall, i am extra-concerned about pants being long enough and falling over my shoe-tip whereas most peole don't mind some ankle showing from their pants..

what really frustates me is when some shops have larger sizes that are only wider, but not longer

Well.. I went into Rowe and Jarman this morning and had no luck. The sales person was really helpful but eventually told me that I was out of luck (including Running Bare).

I ended up going into Target as I hadn't checked out the sportswear for quite some time and found that their pants are now quite long so brought myself a pair. If I stand bare foot, the bottom of the leg sits just above the floor. So I'm now quite happy - I don't care that it's not a brand name because i've been over that for quite a few years. Only thing is, you don't have the wide choice of colours and designs like you do with brand names - the only thing I had to choose from was plain black.

I agree with you deeyala. I do not llke my ankles showing but I'm sure most people don't even notice.
