now i haven't been fishing in a long time, about a year do to personal stuff, and i wanna get back out on the water cause its the only place im at peace.i've always gone for small stuff like large mouth bass, and stripped bass.nothing big so far but i wanna try out sturgeon fishing.i know i need steel leaders and the sturgeon out here really like grass shrimp so im set there.but any advice on other stuff that will come in handy or things i should know so i won't lose one if i hook it?i know they have soft mouths and its easy to rip out the hook, any particular kinda hook i should use or anything like that so that won't happen?

You have to drag the bottom to catch those. Throw in your line and wait. Some people where I live use old cheese or something rotten to attract them. A friend of mine was casting and somehow caught one that was 50lbs. It was luck mind you. If you do catch one, please throw it back. They are no good to eat and are becoming extinct.

Sturgeon stakes are legit. ;)

Sturgeons can be caught in rivers and lakes. They primarily feed on crustaceans and mollusks so use crabs and oysters. :)
