I am posting this thread for mainly one reason. I wanna see how my own routines differ from yours.

I may not be the strongest, but I reckon that the only way to keep pushing is to have something to strive for.

So, please feel free to post your routines and goals (along with current lifts).

Remember these two things:

To Be The Best You Have To Train To Beat The Best

And

Go Heavy or Go Home!

This sport is extremely coach centred...

only problem is in Australia there are very very few good coaches, Sevi marinov and some of the old bulgs and armenians in te hawthorn gym were the best, there students are about the only good coaches in Australia.

My training is retardedly complex, my coach knows where Im going, wat I need to work on, what excersses I need to do,d were he expects me to peak.

Me? i just lift whatever he tells me to put on the bar and not bother thinking about the science.

For me the only thing I strive for is to lift with as maintaned agression and intensity in evey rep and set to the best of my ablity. i leave the thinking to my coach, that inclides goals.

But many do not have the luxury of a good coach.

Snatched 95kg and clean and jerked 121kg.

my routine is as follows:

workout A

snatch 8 x 1
clean and jerk 8 x 1
front squat 1-3 x 6-10

workout B

snatch 8 x 1
cleans 8 x 1 (10lbs heavier than clean and jerk)
front squat 1-3 x 6-10
BTN jerks 3-6 x 2-3

working out ABA one week BAB the next week.

I also do core work (planks or incline situps), hammer chins, and some pressing here or there.

My workouts pretty much follow this order:

snatch
C&J
Squat (only fronts at the moment)
Extra work (I don't usually do extra work right before a competition)

I do about a month of 3 reps for o-lifts, then a month of 2, then a month of 1 to peak.

Squats and extra work vary more. I like squat programs, I always use one, and I use a lot of different ones. Mainly I write them myself.

So far my best lifts are ~93kg snatch, 111kg C&J (205lbs snatch, 245lb C&J), 265lbx4 front squat. I weigh 82-83kg.

I have only been getting some coaching for around a month now, so far all my workouts have been working on technique and just maintaining strength.

They go something like this ? day 1: snatches, snatch pulls, squats and abs

day 2: clean & jerk, clean pulls, front squats, abs

etc etc

usually a couple of warm up sets and around 5-8 working sets of 3 reps

with a few other things thrown in to find out what works for me :)
never had so many blisters on my hands.

Can someone give me a quick summary of what a Bulgarian training method would look like, I'm curious.

according to the weightlifting enclyclopedia, bulgarians just train on heavy singles, they use the snatch, clean&jerk and front squat mostly, only using the power variants or back squats if injured or such, so they might do

snatch - work up to a top single for the day, than do a single at 5kg less and another single at 10kg less
clean&jerk - same as snatch
squat - work up to a top single, double at 5kg less, triple at 10kg less

or so I understand from Dreshler's book.

you might check out www.mikesgym.org workout section, they have some bulgarian style articles.
