I mentioned this in my journal but just wanted to see if anyone else had it. My bf gave it to me as an early b-day present. I used it today and it's SOOOO awesome!! I can finally accurately track calories and HR for my whooooole workout, from lifting to cardio to abs! I'm gonna wear it for a day or two as well just to get an idea of what I burn walking around on campus.

This one was a little pricey...I peeked and said it was $160  But he looked at others that were much cheaper and still had many cool features. Plus it's purdy hehe... I got to pick the color, it's pearly blue :)

heheheh now I feel like the 'cool kid' in class lol :D
The calories seem pretty high, but I'd assume it's accurate since it's based on my rhr, height, weight, level of conditioning, etc. It read 565 cals burnt for 60 min of exercise at an avg of 75% mhr. I have had to increase my calories a bit today, I'll have to see if eating more affects me negatively or not hehe :)

Well I've been wearing it since about 7am, so between driving, walking, and my strength & conditioning class (during which I did some *very* light lifting because we have to 'try out' each 'station' lol) I'm up to 395 cal. My BMR is 1265, so I burn about 53 cal/hr baseline. I did some math and by now my BMR calories would have reached 146...so 250 cal burnt from moving around. That makes sense, it's only about 80 extra calories per hour, and I was standing and moving weights for one of them.

i've been thinking about getting myself one of the lower priced ones, the F4 or F6 something like that. it doesn't seem like so much money if you think about how much of your day is dedicated to meal planning and what your calories and macros should be for a day, i am, of course, speaking for myself. i spend a significant amount of time planning out my food for the day, thinking about the whole calories in-calories out deal, so $100 for something that more accurately tracks my calories burned seems like a wise investment.
i'm glad to hear that it's as cool as i imagined it would be. i have to find myself a red one!!

Is that like the bod pod? How is it different?

It doesn't measure how many calories you eat, which the Bod Pod does. Other than that I donno...it doesn't come w/ personal training or anything like that, and I think the Bod Pod has some online services. And it's not $400 hehe :)

Karla, you're right, it is a great investment. I have worn it all day so far...today's an off-day, so I can see what I burn without working out. Then when I wear it during my workout I can add those numbers to what I burn just going to class and stuff and adjust my caloric intake accordingly.

I had to hint to my hubby.
( a picture on the desktop of the computer with an arrow saying M's b-day present, click link to buy)
Subtle, no? :)

That sounds so cool! Do you know if there's much of a difference between F11 and F6? :)

I love my watch... i'm a total geek with it!!! :) I really feel that it put my level of workouts and effort into perspective... on a normal day, sitting at my desk, sleeping, etc, I was burning 2450 cals...so that convinced me that I wasn't eating NEARLY enough... i never thought that I'd be burning that much doing NOTHING IMO... so it was really educating, nice to learn more about my body. Great tool. I have the RS200sd, it's the running one, with the piece for the shoe.

I bought that one b/c the girl that I was working out with felt that she had outgrown a less equipped version. So make sure to look into the features and get what you really think that you'll use. You don't want to have to buy an upgrade in a year or so as you get more involved and educated.
