You guys should try out Postresql

I just migrated a couple of Mysql Databases. Much faster with solid integrity. So if you have to make the move to Oracle it is easy and sleazy. Although nothing beats MSSQL :)

Hmmmm... nothing beats a bloated VB app wrapped in classicasp living off of MSSQL stored procs. Who needs memory anyways?

mySQL has a long ways to go yet. Also, you are mistaken Nothing beats ORACLE. ;) but what can I say, I'm biased.

This.

If you can afford Oracle, it is the best thing out there.

As far as free databases go though, can't beat mySQL ;)

I didn't know this user base had grown to warrant having something as expensive as Oracle.

Plus the entries wouldn't be overly cumbersome with connectors.

Nothing wrong with MYSQL. Plus this is a PHP based site.

If you want to move everything over to Windows then you'll need to make a new forum in asp.net (ASP classic isn't supported anymore so not advisable for something like this).

You could do a Linux server with Oracle support but then you've really lost the appeal of having the plush Windows superserver since its not going to function as well.

If facebook hasn't needed to switch off then why would this site?
