View Full Version : NOS ETHER Caps Log by RB12
PURPOSE AND GOALS:
I am keeping this log to test NOS ETHER Caps from Get Diesel Nutrition. Thanks to CHUCK DIESEL for the opportunity. I am testing this product while on a bulk/recomp cycle. As a secondary purpose for this log, I have been asked to directly compare NOS ETHER Caps to MAN Clout based on the prior log I ran (http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=560847). In this log I was bulking and using the additional amino acids and sesamin. Therefore, I will be doing the same in this log to complement the NOS ETHER Caps in order to give the best comparison I can.
NOS ETHER Caps:

I was looking at Gynostemma, Rhodiola Rosea, and Banaba leaf and those ingredients look pretty solid on paper.
Cant wait to see the results on the caps.

I see this has been a very active place while I was out of town ;) First off, thanks for all the support and all those that are following. Yesterday (Saturday) was my first loading day, so nothing to really report, instead I will do stats and pics.
weight: (I will get this tomorrow at the gym)
bf: 14.4%
waist: 35.5"
arms: 15.4"
thighs: 23.4"
calves: 15.25"
Cardio: Hiking this morning, not sure on the distance, went out for about 45-60 min.
Weights: Back today, pretty good, nothing to write home about. Sweating was moderate.
deads: 5x295
bent over rows: 5x155
upright rows: 5x125
Supps: Loading day 2; took 2 caps about 15-20 min. before my first two meals and took about 16-20oz of water after. Nothing to really report yet

looking good so far. i should be getting my ether this week comming up good luck on the rest of your log.
Nice weight on the deads! Keep it up.
Nice weight on the deads! Keep it up.
Thanks TE and martel04
Cardio: 3 mile run, felt pretty good, endurance felt nice today
Weights: Chest/tris and the workout went good. I felt pretty strong. Sweating was slightly above moderate
bench: 4x265
incline db: 4x90
overhead db extentions: 5x35
Supps: Loading day 3; took 2 caps about 300 min. before my first two meals and took about 16oz of water after. Again, not too much to report as of yet
Cardio: 2 mile run, followed by 30 min. of kung fu. Lactic acid buildup was moderate today durring kung fu
Weights: Off
Supps: Loading day 4; took 2 caps about 20 min. before my first two meals and took about 16oz of water after.
Cardio: Off
Weights: legs today, kind of an odd workout. Strength wise, no problems, but I was exhausted by the time I made it to the gym and because of such, it was hard to keep great focus. This was exhibited best (or worst for that matter) in my squats where I was coming 1/4-1/2 inch of the box, ugh.
squats: 5x265
leg press: 5x570
db lunges: 5x90
sldls: 5x275
Supps: Loading day 5, so that is that. I will start normal dosing tomorrow. I felt pretty good (body-wise) all day and my muscles generally look good, my energy just sucked at the gym. I do not, however, attribute this in any way to the ether. I had a very rough and long day at work and felt it mentally.
Cardio: 2 mile run, I was pretty stiff today, but this is the norm on my post-leg workout runs.
Weights: Pretty good shoulder/bi lift this morning. Strength felt damn good
db military press: 6x75
bb shrugs: 5x325
standing db curls: 5x50
hammer db curls: 5x40
Supps: Well, this was my first day doing the normal dosing. I felt pretty good today and energy was good throughout the day. I have to note that the past few days, I have been drinking incessently. I drink 2.5-3 gallons of liquid a day and I still cannot quench my thirst, but I am still pissing like normal.

Do you felt that you were more thirsty after taking the full dosage? Just asking because I took full dosage today for the first time and didn't seem to be more thirsty.
3 gallons of water a day is insane!! Good job man :D

Nope, sorry I should have clarified, my thirst has nothing to do with going up to the full dose, the past couple days I have been really thirsty
Cardio: 3 mile run, I forgot what it was like to run outside... much better than running inside, but the ability to push myself (over a statically paced treadmill) is a double edged sword. Regardless, the run went well and my legs felt good today
Weights: Off
Supps: The only things I have to report is, 1) I felt less thirsty today than in the past few days and I am wondering if it is due to workout timing (for whatever reason) because I ran in the afternoon today as opposed to the morning. 2) I have had pretty good energy throughout the day on ether so far, which has been nice

I was actually going to add the same thing in my log. My thirst seems to be somewhat normal now. I don't know if I'm just used to drinking way more water now and don't notice it, or if maybe my body is getting used to NOS ETHER???
Cardio: 60 min. walking
Weights: Back today, pretty good, low sweating today
deads: 4x305
bent over rows: 5x155
upright rows: 5x125
Supps: Strength felt good tonight while lifting
Cardio: 3 mile run. Went well, once I got going... but getting going took a lot of effort
Weights: Chest/tris; went well, had good strength and a nice pump today, vascualrity was up a little, too.
bench: 5x265
incline db: 5x90
overhead db extentions: 4x40
Supps: I woke up this morning and did not feel so hot, but I also have a lot of things leading to high stress levels right now. I laid back down for about 15 min. and felt better after that. As stated above, my two workouts went well; no problem.
Cardio: 2 mile run and 30 min. kung fu. Went pretty well, I felt a little spent toward the end of hte workout, but I was also pushing my forms pretty deep with hard strikes.
Weights: Off
Supps: No problems sleeping or waking up, whatever was causing that slightly nauseus feeling yesterday morning is gone. My muscles have started to feel pleasently full throughout the day.
bench: 5x265
incline db: 5x90
overhead db extentions: 4x40
How many sets are you doing for each chest exercise?
btw, Chuck said if you're weight is lower than 140lbs, you can get away with 2-2-2 on workout days, but other than that, use the 3-3-2 dosage regardless of weight.

Good stuff, thanks for the update.
I don't post my entire workout, jsut the big sets. However, I do 3 sets of push ups, 3 sets bench (9-7-5 reps), 3 sets of incline db (9-7-5 reps) and 3 sets of some type of cable or machine chest workout (9-7-5 reps).
Cardio: Off
Weights: legs today and strength was good, however my right knee was giving me a little bit of a problem during squats/leg press. I did have some good depth on squats, though, which made me happy
squats: 5x265
leg press: 5x570
db lunges: 5x90
sldls: 5x275
Supps: everything seems to have stabalized as far as sleep, thirst, etc. I did not get a lot of sleep last night (life, not supps) but felt really good today and kepy going all day just fine
Cardio: 2 mile run, sucked, muslces felt tight the whole time
Weights: shoulders/bis today, and I am beat (in a good way). I had the time to really push my lifting hard today and it felt good
db military: 6x80
bb shrugs: 345
db curls: 5x50
Supps: Had a real nice pump today while lifting, mostly in my shoulders. Vascularity was up a bit, but moreso in my forarms than bis.

I thought Ether was your wife??? :D
Well in that case I'm taking his wife in pill form 2 to 3 times a day! :D
Cardio: 3 mile run was pretty good, got in the groove and made it through no prob
Weights: very powerful Chest/tris workout today; one of those days where focus was on and strength followed suit
bench: 4x275
incline db: 5x95
overhead db extentions: 4x40
Supps: strength was very good today and while I did not feel that much of a pump, vascularity increased a little (my bicep vein made a cameo appearance today)
Stats: I keep forgetting to post weights here. I started at 207lbs and I am at 209lbs today.
Cardio: 2 mile run followed by 20-25 min. martial arts. My run went well, but the martial arts sucked. I had some major lactic acid build up and speed just was not there
Weights: Off
Supps: nothing new to report today
Cardio: Off
Weights: beat the crap out of my legs today; strength was good, but muscle endurance was just moderate
squats: 5x265
leg press: 5x570
db lunges: 5x90
sldls: 4x295
Supps: wednesdays just do not seem like great days for me; very early meetings, long days, etc. all in all it was an ok workout and sweating was pretty high.
[QUOTE=RB12]Cardio: 2 mile run, ugh, that is all I can say. Legs were quite sore today, but I made it through, so I guess that makes it good
Weights: Good strength, but the pump did not really follow
db military press: 5x85
bb shrugs: 5x375
standing db curls: 5x50
hammer db curls: 5x40
Supps: Like I said, a little disappointed that I did not have a really good pump, but on a high note, focus was good, descent sweat and nice strength.
Cardio: 2 mile run and 25 min. kung fu. Nothing spectacular. glad it is the end of the week
Weights: Off
Supps: Onto bottle 2
Cardio: 25 min. mid-impact cardio; kung fu and jumping rope
Weights: back today and strength is still good. i also hada pretty good pump in my bis today
deads: 5x305
bent over rows: 5x165
upright rows: 6x135
Supps: I was pretty tired today (my own fault, had a couple too many ginger ales last night at my buddy's b-day and got a short, lousy night of sleep). However, after I made it through deads the rest of the workout felt pretty good
Cardio: 2.5 mile run; really still this morning, run did not go well
Weights: great chest/tri lift today, felt pretty pumped and strength was happily high.
bench: 4x275
incline db: 5x95
overhead db extentions: 5x40
Supps: As I said above, had a pretty good pump going today and sweating was pretty high.

hey TE, I do 3: push ups (mostly as a warm up), flat bb bench, incline db press, and some type of machine or cable cross. Then I do dips, which also partially hit the pecs.

I had a feeling you would ask that TE ;) I really don't know, if I had to hazard a guess, I would say around 40-45 degrees (?)
Cardio: 2 mile run and 25 min. kung fu. Being sore in the morning really sucks, for some reason I have had a hard time trying to shake the leg tightness off
Weights: Off
Supps: Sweating was very good today :)

Have you tried lowering it down to around 30? I like it much better. Less shoulder involvement & I can use more weight. I can really feel the upper chest work more this way.

you know, I might be at or around that. i will try and check it out. where i have it set, i really dont feel any shoulder problem and defintely get a nice workout in the upper chest (which leads me to believe my estimated 40-45 degrees is off and i am closer to 30-35 degrees)
Cardio: Off
Weights: For the most part strength and endurance was good; unfortunately, I don't really think I got focused until after my squats because my squats just did not feel great today.
squats: 4x265
leg press: 6x570

overhead db extentions: 5x40
Supps: All around good workouts today, strength, sweating, and muscle hardness all high today
Weight: 212lbs
Cardio: 2 mile run and 25 min. kung fu. Soreness was not quite as bad today, but I was also learning a new form, so the kung fu was not as intense
Weights: Off
Supps: Felt fine and had good energy and muscle fullness all day

Cardio: 2.5 mile run; felt ok today
Weights: Off - I had to rearrange my schedule and move bis/shoulders to Fri.
Supps: nothing new to report
Cardio: 2 mile run post workout; I have come to realize when I go post workout it will be a great run if I do not try to push my speed, which is not the norm for me, but I guess a lesson of life
Weights: Shoulder/bis today; strength is still very good and I had great energy
db military press: 5x85
bb shrugs: 5x385
standing db curls: 5x55
hammer db curls: 4x45
Supps: sweating was out of control today, I am still dripping.
How is the strength coming?
How is the strength coming?
Strength has been real good, pump has been so-so (but I blame that, in my case, at least partially on the fact that I do not respond well to NO products), muscle fullness has been good as well. The only thing I have been less than impressed with is the morning recovery for things like cardio.
Looks like a week or so to go left on this trial. Same for you?
Cardio: 2 mile run in 12:48 (yes, that's right, a time. hopefully this is the first of many warm days to run out doors). Anyway, went pretty well at an average 6:24 miles. I have lost about a min. a mile since last fall.
Weights: Easter dinner really did a number on me today ;) Barely made it through the lift, but had a descent pump
deads: 3x305
bent over rows: 5x165
upright rows: 4x145

Personal Observations:
I was very impressed with the strength and muscle endurance while lifting while on Ether. This is definitely one of the better strength products I have used. I don’t think there was so much “pump” on this product, but rather a good muscle fullness. Personally, this is more important to me. I could care less about a pump in the gym because I only go to the gym so I can look good the other 23 hours out of the day, not the other way around. Therefore, I am very happy to have the regular muscle fullness Ether provided. The one thing that I was not impressed with was the cardio endurance. I don’t really feel that this product improved my cardio endurance at all. On the other hand, I don’t really think it hindered me at all either. Otherwise, sweating was good on this product as was focus in the gym.
So this leads me to my somewhat arbitrary numerical rating. Let me start based on product claims:
Product Claims:
Turns non-responders to creatine into believers – I am a non-responder to mono, but had good results with Ether, so 10/10
Can increase strength in the 3-10 rep range by up to 30% - numbers like this always bother me because each person responds differently to different supps, so I am not going to rate this
Can increase total reps per set by up to 100%+(over a two fold increase in total reps performed at a given weight across the board!). – again, see the last point
You are looking at pumps on off days that exceed the best pump you have ever had during a workout – as stated above, this fullness was pretty nice 9/10
Overall Rating: 9/10
As I stated before, these numbers are fairly arbitrary. However, I was asked to specifically compare Ether to Clout. While I was impressed with my strength training on Ether, cardio is a very important facet to my training and I feel that I was able to rebound on cardio better on Clout than I did on Ether. Both are very solid products quite a relief to a lot of the garbage on the market.
Anyway, a very big thanks to CHUCK DIESEL for the opportunity to test Ether, you have a really solid product. Also, thanks to everyone who followed along, let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks warriors, WSUcougs, and mike_1985.
I am defienitely curious to read some other reviews (I kind of avoid reading others logs while I am running a test so as to try and not skew my results too much).
Nice work, RB. Very thorough review also.
