So about a month and a half ago I had surgery to remove a disk herniation in my back (that's what you get for not warming up before deadlifts!!!(and yes I know I'm an idiot)), my doctor said it was biggest herniation he ever removed, and as such he said I need to wait 2-3 months to start rehab rather than the normal 3-2 weeks. The injury came at a horrible time cause I was loosing a lot of fat and gaining a lot of muscle. I am embarrassed to say that I went from 210 lbs. to 240 lbs from May 2007 when the injury first happened to today. I can't do much strenuous exercise, my doctors says I shouldn't lift anything over 10 lbs so weight lifting is out of the question. Lately I've been playing racquetball and I've been sweating my ass off doing it, but my lower back feels sore after a match and the day after. Any advise on anything else I could do, cardio wise, so I could drop some fat. The diet I followed in the begining of my routine (when I dropped most of the fat) was carbs in the morning (like toast or somethin like that) and protein based meals for lunch and dinner (like ham or turkey sandwiches for lunch and grilled chicken for dinner) My doctor said I can start lifiting again at the end of the summer if I so choose, but I can't wait that long do drop this fat. Any help is appreciated.
