Is anyone here into riding dirtbikes?? if so what kind of bike do you have and what kind of riding do you mostly do? I have a 2002 Honda XR250 and I mainly jump it(probably shouldn't) and ride it through the woods.

I used to ride motocross back in the day, before i had to sell my bike to pay for school....
I started riding when i was twelve on an old 1979 yamaha my parents got me for my birthday from a friend for 100 bucks. Rode that until i got a job and then saved up to buy a yamaha trail bike...forget what size and everything...tw200? is that even a bike?
then, my junior year of high school i had my parents co-sign a loan for me to buy a 2001 ktm 125sx....ohh man that thing kicked ass....i loved it....I mostly rode for fun...at a motocross park in central PA called Rausch creek (anyone ever been there?)
Had heaps of fun with it...loved going up and spending all day, from 9 till 6 or 7 with a few buddies...ride for an hour or two, come back, drink some water, eat a sandwhich, watch other people crash, and then go back at it for more....damn do i miss that.
but yea, come 2004 i realized that, paying for school myself, i really needed the money to make some tuition payments...bummer...had to sell the bike and havent rode since.
dont know if i'll ever get back into motocross, as i dont heal as quick as i used too...but after i graduate i definately wanna buy a street bike

Living in the high desert is kind just begging to ride dirt so I have 3 a Yamaha IT 175 suspension of a YZ but geared lower for desert, a Suzuki 185 the wife rides and a Yamaha 100 the kids.

I have had a few dirt bikes a 1983 YZ 250 (stock), a 1996 YZ 125 (pipe and silencer), a 1995 XT 350 (if you wanna call it a dirtbike), a 1997 KX 250 (stock), and I currently have a 1999 KX 250 (everything short of a big bore kit). Would like to sell the 99 to get the new KX450F, but that damn money tree I planted won't grow no matter how much I water it.
Mostly sand dunes, its not hard to find a group to go to Idaho to ride with.

I ride, in hawaii its mostly woods. My brother and I have a 1990 ktm 250, a 1998 ktm 200 exc with every upgrade from pipes to guards, its my woods rocket. I also own a 1993 cr 80 and 93 ds 80, my pitbikes since im 6'2" and over 200 lbs.
When I was young I use to own a 1983 husky 430 cc two stroke. Let me tell you, nothing compares to the cracking of the throttle on a big bore smoker. That thing would nearly rip your arms out.

I used to have a little honda 50 and a cr125. I still have a honda xr 80, not sure why. We own a lot of land and I would always ride on it, through the woods and all through the power lines.

isn't it weird how dirtbikes are like drugs (for me at least). After the first time you ride one, you are hooked.

Yeah it is a pretty amazing feeling. I'm lucky to live in the high desert and the desert hills are just across the street. So I don't even have to load up the bike to ride. I just need to do more of it. I'll post some pictures later of if I can find some pictures.

awesome! I'm also lucky enough to not have to drive anywhere to ride. I live on a 300 acre farm and can ride all over it.
