This place really pisses me off. We had a week off for the holidays, which was terriffic. But, more than half the staff took 2-3 days off before the actual vacation and left me running areas of the office that do not pertain to my job description. ~ And the same people took 2 extra days after the vacation, again, leaving me to run areas that I'm not familiar with. Now they need someone to say late today to run the same areas and everyone is looking at me. Damn!! Why don't the people that freaking slacked for more than two weeks do something. I'll probably be the one staying, picking up everyones damn slack! @#$%&!

I know what you mean, the same thing at my work.
I think it is your dedication trait (or gene) that gets us in this kind of trouble. Maybe that is why your so successful at your bb.
Just a price to pay, I guess for being that dedicated.
A wise co-worker once told me "Never let them (managment) know how good you really are (or how much you really know) otherwise, they will expect that from you all the time"
In times like your having today - I think he was just a little correct.
Anyway MsFit,
Hang in there, it can only get better.

Glad to hear I'm in good company. I've had the same thing at my office for two weeks. The dept heads were off, leaving all the end of year crap half done, and I'm in the middle of it, looking like an incompetent idiot, because I don't have a flapping clue what the heck is going on.
No one should be allowed to take the last week of the year off...its when all the crap hits the fan.
Also, I have two young women here in the office that bring in candy, chips, coke....actually, I don't find it a temptation (the idea of coke almost makes me sick....might as well put 12 tsp of sugar in a glass of water), but they were making faces at my lunch of tuna and cottage cheese. Then they constantly complain about their weight while shoveling all that garbage in their faces. Actually, I've talked until I sound like a broken record, so now I just smile at them (condescendingly).

Yeah, people are stupid sometimes. Eating junk and wondering why they are fat.
