i saw this guy from peta saying it is wrong to fish because fish feel pain,WTF i can understand them trying to help dogs, cats, horses etc.... but what the hell don't you at some point just say it hurts them but ehhhh its just a fish!!! and i think i also saw a study that said fish have like a 3 second memory so they will not remember the searing pain they go through anyway.

^^^Now wasn't that enlightening?

Put it this way, the only thing with PETA that I can see is that they won't be happy until we've saved the lives of every single cat, dog, horse, frog, fish, bird, reptile, etc, etc, etc, and turned all of us into hippy vegetarian animal-loving fur-trade hating morons. That's exactly how it comes across, anyway.

As far as **** like this goes, there's nothing wrong with fishing. So they think they might feel pain? Really? Well, there's a new school of thought that says that plants might too...does that mean we'll have to stop eating them?

It's just daft, really. Yes, it may be painful (though the jury is still out on that), but there's no emotion there, just a physical response to stimuli.

Please note:

PETA Discussions always get ugly.

Yeah, but you have to admit it's damn funny when you organize a free barbecue upwind from one of their protests. :D

That was possibly the best idea I had that whole year at college.

I remember them in front of a kentucky fried chicken place. I purposely went in and bought a tub of chicken. I stood outside next to them eating my chicken as they made puking sounds.. it was funny as hell.

I don't like the PETA organization, but surely you can see a persons reason for living the vegan lifestyle. I'm not a vegan, btw.

Sure, my favorite BBer of all times was Bill Pearl. He was a veg.

However....Meat eaters really don't put down veg's/Vegans...It's their choice.

We evolved eating meat and I for one am glad!

Going to go cook my steak now..From a cow a raised!

PETA and other fringe groups are not about the "cause" but about membership, funding, grants, tax breaks, etc.

They actively recruit useful idiots and sell them on whatever cause they represent, be it saving the spotted owl, anti-fur, anti-whaling, or whatever. They pick a cause that the unenlighted will buy.

"Just look at that poor little puppy. He was raised in a puppy mill. Can't you help? Send your donations so we can put a stop to these horrible puppy mills."

Or whatever the cause. The leaders take the cash, the minions act like good little robots. It's all a big scam.

That is why it is ridiculous to engage in a debate with PETA or any other fringe group. THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW that they have been duped!

I don't mind vegans or vegetarians - it's all about personal choice. What I do mind, though, is some jumped-up little fart in a biologically-friendly tie-dye tee-shirt, long straggly hair and jesus sandals telling me that red meat is baaaaaad, man and it'll clog up my arteries and ****.

It's my choice, and a nice, juicy rare steak three times a day is far better, IMO, than beans...I prefer it anyway. :D

I agree. Personally I don't care what anyone else eats except for myself. I eat meat, and I enjoy it. :)
