I am doing 30 min cardio 5 times a week right now. Today was a tuff day but I am sure there are more to come as the show gets closer. I am at 170lb right now and I have so much going through my head about whether I should; increase cardio, maintain current level, decrease carbs even further, go back to 3 low and 2 high, so to say the least I am always trying to improve the condition and keep my muscle as well. So here is a few little pics done tonight, nothing too great, no pumping up, really flat and watery today and the lightening isn't the greatest but please please let me here some suggestions.

Hey bud,
looking good, but for advices its really hard to say to this point, its sure that your carb deplete and sodium loading will do a big difference also.
Did you check with the WNSO if the supplements that your using is permitted for competing? you were talking about CellMass, No-Xplode and ephedrine, better watch yourself with those man, would be pretty ****ty to fail the entry test after all the hard work.
Anyway man keep it up

I think with 5 weeks left you have time to get in great condition. I would make sure you are mixing in some HIT with some low intense longer duration cardio(45 min). I am around 7 weeks out and have been doing a combo of both low intense and HIT as suggested by Layne. It has worked great. I would make sure you are doing cardio on off days as well. Don't leave anything to chance. Kick butt and work your AZZ off from here on out! Good luck!

This is not a knock on you, but judging from the pics you should be a little more conditioned at this point. I would as trapz mentioned, start doing some HIIT ASAP. To continue losing weight (fat) you can either decrease your calories, or increase you cardio. Are you losing 1-1.5 pounds per week? What is your body fat? Knowing you bodyfat will give you a good idea of what you need to do. Also, plan on losing another 3-7 pounds during your carb depletion the last week, so don't panic you'll be fine.

LOL, I was trying to be nice TexFlex. Yep, you should be further along at this point but you still have time. I would be busting my azz on cardio. I would do really short weight training session, like 30 min or less. Train quick, heavy and get done. Then I would hit cardio PWO as well. Cardio will be your best friend right now.

Sorry trapz, just being honest my friend...
I would want someone to tell me, especially if it was my 1st time competing. I was the same way last year. If I didn't have Layne's guidance, I would have continued on my merry way and have been way off come contest time. The last 4 weeks I was basically doing 6-7 days of cardio per week. Low intensity in the morning and sprints at night.

You did the right thing Tex. I also would have been f-d if it wasn't for Layne's article. I did the same thing my last few weeks. I even had to bump it up to doing cardio PWO on top of what I was doing, AM and PM like you stated. When are you stepping on stage this year?

- Lour, thanks for the reply, I checked out the list over a year ago, everything that I am taking is leagal and can be found at any GNC, Popeye's store. So based on the first line of the rule I am good!
"General Rule:
All substances sold over the counter legally are permitted. Substances that are not sold over the counter are prohibited."
Keep up the job work buddy, we only have a month to go. I am registering next week and booking the hotel as well. I can't really predict what the weight will be because I originally though in the 170's but now it is looking like I will be in the 160lbs.
-TexFlex and Trapzillo, I appreciate the words of motivation. I respect everyone's opinnion and will take what is said into consideration. Please, don't worry about being nice guys, I respect people that are honest and tell it like it is. With that being said I am more focused then ever and will be taking the prep up a few notches. After consulting a few people, I am going to bump the cardio up to an am session for 30 min (mod intensity) and a 30 min session of HIT cardio at nigh, this will be done monday to friday for 3 weeks and then the final week will go by the mirror and make adjustments as is needed.
Trust me, I know everyone's got their opinnions as do I, so I am listening to what everyone is telling me and will make the appropriate adjustments that makes the most sense to me!

I would like one to be further along at 5 weeks out. I'd focus on trying to drop 2 lbs per week for the next 5 weeks.

Listen to Layne. He's getting me dialed in. I am so far ahead of where I thought I'd be right now and I owe it to his training and guidance! I am 7 weeks out and my electronic bodyfat reading this AM was 4%.

Maybe it's just me, but only an hour of cardio/day seems pretty low for where you're at and how close the show is. If you're doing HIIT at night, I'd bump your morning cardio up to an hour w/ HR~155. That's my opinion, but I'd like to hear what other people think as well...I'm 7 weeks out and currently doing 1.5-2 hours/day (depending on whether I do HIIT or low-intensity cardio) 6-7 days/week. Make sure that your workouts are high-intensity EVERY time.

my bad man you were right,
Ephedrine
WNSO allows the use of ephedrine provided it is NOT Misused & is within the current Recommended Dosage Guidelines
