So I have been on Alesse for almost 2 years now and a friend of mine mentioned that she recently went on a low dose pill and she noticed she was mood-swingy, spazzy and her sex drive disappeared! It finally occured to me that when I started on the pill, I experienced all of this too, but I thought it was just because I needed to exercise more. Of course, I didn't make the pill connection.
Has anyone here experienced similar things with a 20 mgc estrogen pill?
I am thinking about trying Yasmin, anyone know much about that?
What are your experiences with birth control pills in general - what works mood-wise and what doesn't kill the sex drive?

I've taken Loestrin for a long time -- no bad effects here. I had trouble with the higher estrogen pills (lots of nausea). Anyway, Loestrin works great for me!

Do you know if it is the 20 or 30 mcg dose?

My doctor prescribed a low dose of Alesse for me...( because I stopped having a period ) to get my hormones back in balance. I am pretty bad, because I failed to keep taking it, but regardless, when I did, there were no side-effects of any kind for me !

I've had some problems with lower sex drive and mood swings on bc (loestren and lunelle). I'm not sure I ever want to take it again. :(

I started Alesse almost 2 years ago and lost my sex drive completely after 6 months and it made my periods lighter and lighter until they stopped completely! I havn't had one since March! I'm going off them next week. I've heard Yasmin is good. I'm going to ask the doctor about that.

I've just stopped taking Dianette cos it completely changed my behaviour! I was moody, depressed then happy, no sex drive & I've always been a stable happy person - took me a while to link the pill as the culprit tho but it's really put me off taking the pill at all for the moment anyway. I'm glad to see other people have the same problems as me.
