If you do, how much do you take? When do you take it? I posted this on the guys board and I am not sure how much I should take as a female?

I am looking to lower my bodyfat and keep my muscle. I do about 25-30 minutes cardio 3-4 times a week and work one bodypart a day. 3 days on one off.

Also, is this stuff considered a growth hormone and is so will I get thick and bulky?

I am confused...sorry!

Glutamine is NOT a growth hormone, it will not make you bulky, it is used for cutting, I take 10-15 grams in my post-workout shake. It doesn't have the ability to make you big and bulky, so don't worry about it. It's a great idea to supplement with this if you are cutting and want to hold onto muscle as that's exactly what it is for.

I take the 500mg tablets of Glutamine, sometimes more during my precontest phase. Some people prefer to mix it into a shake. Whatever works for you.

To clarify, glutamine helps to build and maintain muscle. It is an essential amino acid. It is not a "bodyfat" reducer, as asked in your post. If you have muscle to maintain, or workout hard and heavy, glutamine might be a good choice for you.

The literature is mixed on how much to take. Anywhere from 5-25 grams per day.

Best advice is don't take it just to take it. Look at the other supplements you are using, including what is in your shakes, etc. You might find it is already included in something else you are taking.

Good luck.

I know Glutamine comes in powder, but 25 grams/day? That's 50 capsules! Say you find a 10oz jar(284 grams) jar of the powdered form on sale for $27(1/3 off). That would last 11 days. If you buy the capsules, you'd need a new bottle every few days.

I've been taking up to 5 grams on days I work out and less on other days. Either that or something else seems to be helping my recoveries and strength the last week.
