On another forum that I visit(www.nuclearphynance.com) if someone post a thread that is markedly stupid users press a blender icon next to the thread. After enough blends the thread gets moved to trash. It keeps discussion clean.
On yet another forum that I frequent(www.studentdoctor.net) when you try to make a new thread you are shown a list of threads that were searched for with similar titles to your own to explore before you post the thread. That could also help with the n00bs.
