Prolab N-Large. Great Taste (Chocolate)
2nd come ON100% Whey b/c i took it as my MRP later on cuz i noticed that the maltodextrine in the N-large isnt good to be used as a MRP.

Helped me gain from 139lb to 172lb (wow) in 2-3 months. Im down to a lil less now, cuz some of it was fat from bad dieting.

MHP's Probolic SR. It has fast, and slow digesting proteins. The casein keeps you in an positive nitrogen balance MUCH longer than just staight whey. People say they are gaining strength and mass from whey? It is not the whey that is doing that, but the BCAA's IN the whey.( esp Leucine ) Probolic is loaded with Glutamine and BCAA's, and will keep you in an anabolic state much longer than your typical whey.

If you are you into bodybuilding or better health, and you tired of the junk that companies say works and does certain things, but don’t, then you need to know about a company who makes state-of-the-art products. I have personally tried other products from the so-called ten “leading name” companies out there and had little or no success. I was tired of wasting hard-earned money, as I’m sure you are at this point. I then ran across a Muscular Development magazine, and saw the ad for All American East, a company that has been around since 1980. I called Mr. Tom Harris, who discussed his products and I was blown away with the success that I achieved with these products in such a short time. One his speciality products for protein supplementation is Protobol II™, which, after taking so many other brands, I view as the only real training powder on the market today. For gaining strength and muscle mass. Helps recuperation after workouts! Good for any athlete.

He also carries products such as Kre-Alkalyn®™, the real buffered creatine, which has no side effects and doesn’t turn into poison, plus it provides huge lifting gains and water weight loss. Tom also has a product called Blasterol 1000 ™ (testosterone) that blows away the competition in the first day. with immediate results. There are so many good products there, but I’ll let you go to the web site and check out these awesome products at All American East: http://www.trufax.org/aae/

it sounded too pre composed to not be a real person with an actual opinion...I'm sick of company reps doing free advertising at the expense of the populous...

What do you guys think of USN Pure Protien? It has 40g of protien per serving, i've gone through a few tubs, seems to be working OK for me. Although I have no reference - The only protiens i've used are LA and this USN.

The best protein for gaining muscle is always a high quality protein blend which contains Highest quality "un-denatured" High Fraction (CFM) Whey protein Isolate and concentrates, Milk Protein Isolate (Miceller Casein) and Egg Albumin.

My favorites are Beverly Muscle Provider and Propeptide by DYA.

It's laughable that many believe ON 100% Whey comes in the same class which doesn't come even close by any stretch of imagination.

Frankly, I still, other than taste, find very little difference in Whey protein. I too have been comfortable with ON but I have to honest I chose on the basis of price/gram of protein not some sales pitch promising me mega gains. The article below give you a comparison of contents and cost per gram of several Major proteins from one distributor. This gives an "apples to apples" comparison. I would assume if you researched another distributor, the protein price structure between those brands would be the same though another distributor may have more or less markup on the brands. Shop around is my point, other companies may have even better deals.

ON 100% whey. Since I've been taking this delicious protein, not only do I have a constant smile (rather than hectic gagging) but I think I've gotten a lot more lean. There's tons of BCAA's, it seems that I'm still gaining weight without lots of BF and yeah... can't complain. Everything that people say about this protein is true. I don't know if I'll ever switch proteins again. It's not broken, there's no reason to fix it and unless a new miracle protein comes out, I'm sticking with it.

Props to ON for doing something unheard of. lol

I use "PVL ISO Gold" generally, but I have no problem buying any other good brand when on sale.

I am thinking of trying a new way of taking my protein powder. I have always taken it in the AM, then just before or after a workout and at night before bed..apx 37 grams per serving. I am going to try pulsing (I am 41) using a pulse pattern could be useful in preventing the age-related loss of muscle by increasing feeding-induced stimulation of muscle protein synthesis. 80 % of my intake will be taken at around noon, 10%/10% morning and night.

Just for a couple of months...as i am at a stand still in muscle growth. If it works I will let you all know...

The "best protein for gaining muscle" is, essentially, the highest quality protein.

And as far as whey is concerned, that would be Ergopharm GF-Pro, no contest. You don't go bringing up the subject of the highest quality protein and mention a concentrate or caseinate in the same sentence.

It's simple:

Whey Protein Isolate from Cross Flow Microfiltering or Cold Filtering, non ionized, non denatured

or

Cold Processed Micellar Casein, with the same conditions applying as above

That's it. It's not ON Whey. It's not calcium caseinate. People seem to have an inordinately difficult amount of time understanding the difference between "best tasting" and "highest quality". The two categories are NOT interchangeable, citizens. If anything, they're opposites.

So, don't go for cheap product, use NitroTech.

Cheaper doesn't necessarily mean that its inferior, or more expensive is better. There are many reasons why ON could be cheaper, more sales, less expenses, trade-off between market share and profit, etc.

They are all just whey afterall, just that some may contain slightly more fat/carb and some contain slightly less. As long as you have a good diet, workout program, and actually worked hard, different whey proteins won't give you a significant edge. Just not buying bad quality one's!!!

I have to say I have done all the proteins available and VP2 help me pack it on muscle and lose weight, and i have been eating around 3200 cals. First protein that I have used that helps the muscle and keeps off the fat. Also the first i have seen that is a pure Isolate. Nitrogen retention!!!! the more the better

why is it that everyone seems to like the Optimum nutrition protein. maybe its the variety of flavors. i just looked at ON's website and it doesnt even have any real facts about there protein but if you notice is shows the fact sheet thats on the back of the bottle. the second product on the list is whey protein concentrate. this is an inferior form of protein. as a few people have said only the best protein works the best. I only use CFM ultra filtered whey its the most highly bioavailable you can get. ive recently started using a blend that contains CFM isolate, egg albumin, and micellar casein. i use this at night and in the morning and use just the CFM whey before during and after workout. ive recently reached a max squat of 500 a dead lift of 565 and a 320 hang clean.
these are my thoughts put the best in and get the best out

I like Nitro Tech actually, I love the chocolate taste, and the results i get. I take 3 scoops with milk, one in the morning, one for lunch, and one at night. so thats 60 grams of protein total. Maybe it's just me, but I like it. If you asked for my opinion, I'd try it out. It's the only protein I take.

I agree a blend is best (specifically whey, casein, and egg). There is no proof, however, that micellar casein provides any greater of a benefit with respect to building muscle than does caseinate. There IS definitive proof of the benefit of casein as a protein which provides for superior net retention, but none of the superiority of micellar casein over caseinate.

Should I be using this everyday? Or just after my workout?

The idea is to keep as constant a flow of protein to the body as possible. The excepted rate being 0.8 - 1 g. per pound of body weight. If using it every day keeps you close to that without stuffing your face with larger meals, I would say use it every day.

I can answer question 2: ON Natural Whey is essentially the same as regular ON Whey when it comes to the protein itself. The difference is regarding flavoring and sweeteners. ON Natural contains no artificial flavors or sweeteners (which some people may be allergic to).
Overall on this topic, if you're bodybuilding on a budget, I think ON 100% Whey is the best choice. If you can afford it, Beverly Int. Muscle Provider, and the Ergopharm GF-PRO are top of the line. Cytodyne's Cytopro WPI is a high quality economical choice as well.

The truth shall set you free.

I have tried a range of protein powers, as most of all of you of there have as well.

one hot topic, that i reckon we need to his is the Optimum Whey 100% protein powder. I am aware that it is a high quality protein, that has really good protein per servings, however, when i was using it, i didnt find any gains at all. My mate was recommended it at a health food store, and he finished it, still looking the same as he was before. Sure it has all of the essential and non essential amino acids and all, but my gains were not as evident as when i was taking....

Body Science's Mass Monster XXXL, CHoc-HOneycomb. NOt only did it mix extremely well in the shaker, it tasted awesome. Literally, i could eat the powder straight from the bucket if i were every hungry! But yeah, there were heaps more gains noticed from me taking this protein powder. All up within 4 weeks, i gained abtou 1.5kg of lean muscle.

Right now, i am on Max's HP+. Currently i am finding that i am still gaining lean muscle mass, but also slowly shedding the fat away. I would rate it any time.

But after I finish the tub, i think i may move onto Musashi's P90 or P40, or even AST's VP2. Anyone got any comments on this?

Another Guy
04-06-2006, 06:20 AM
I've got some AST VP2; the BEST tasting whey so far; can't say much about gains yet since I only started using it; but I think the taste does play into some degree, it in a way helps you to swallow the bunch of protein down your throat.

I used to work in retail for almost ten years and I can honestly say that all these supplements are coming from the same central manufactorar so between everything the results will certainly not be earth shattering. Heck for that matter the GNC brand of whey might be the best way to go......

I'm on whey right now anyway.

Out of all the proteins i have tried, i couldnt go past MAX's i dont think you can get it on this site, but here in australia it is the best money can buy... The Breakdown of nutrients in these products are more complete then any others i have tried... and you have no troubles downing this a few times a day, it is very smooth, no lumps or anything, and the flavour is also the best out of all the types i have tried...

I am currently using the MAX's XTG or Extreem Growth... it comes in a large range of flavours... but MAX has just changed all their products, divided them up into categories that say when it is best to take them.. i.e MAX's night time protein... available with or without carbs... NOTHING CAN BEAT IT!!!!! YUMMMY.....LOL :D

I happen to like ON’s ProComplex a lot. People say it’s a little pricie but if you look hard enough you can find it for relatively cheap.

It’s a well thought out blend of egg, casein and whey proteins. It contains 55 grams of protein in 2 scoops. With a serving of 13 BCAAs in every 2 scoop serving.

Check it out and read the container. I think it’s a hell of a lot better then CellTech. The way I have read the labels really, CellTech isn’t anywhere close to ProComplex, it just has Creatine Malate in it. Big deal! Plus ProComplex is less money, So I have no idea why people rant and rave about the other stuff…

Like I say for everything I take, WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE BY TRYING IT?

Cheers!

Anways, it's a good prtoein powder, inspecially for a starter cause that's what i started out with. I don't know what company it is though. What sucks is I just found out that your supposed to use a blender. It work's so much better than actually trying to stir one yourself with a spoon cause it doesn't do ****, it tastes nasty. i use pro complex as well but it is a whey and egg protein, no casein

slightly deceiving by saying 55 grams per serving when a serving is 2 scoops

so ON 100% whey protein has (24g protein / 29.4grams) = .81g protein / gram
Pro Complex has (55g protein / 68grams) = .808g protein / gram

Basically they offer the same amount of protein per gram, pro complex just deceives with the serving size. I do recommend it over ON 100% whey as a daytime protein source because of its slower digestion. Pure Whey protein moves through you so fast, so I just use it for PWO when you need that fast absorption and I use the pro complex when you need a protein to stick with you for longer periods.

*********s NitroWhey Extreme or NytroWhey Extreme for Hardgainers is unreal. I use either of those before and after a workout, and Musclemilk about 1 hour before going to bed, as is contains micellar casein, and whey Isolate and concentrate for a one, two, three punch of fast acting protein and slow acting protein. I also use Cytodynes Z-Mass PM and stack it with 750mg of tribulus, when I dont use the muscle milk at night, as I believe it contains calcium, and calcium renders the ZMA ineffective. I use the tribulus regardless if I take the ZMA. When taking the ZMA I take about 5mg of glutamine in water, about 1 hr before the ZMA, as it has a good anti catabolic effect. I also use a multivitamin, and take 500mg of additional vitamin C 3 times a day. I use Thermadrol as a fat burner I've had good results with these products so far. My body weight is going up and my fat is going away. I'm a fairly lean 6ft 223lbs and not looking to get bigger than 230lbs.

I have to recommend N-Large II. I've been lifting on and off over the past 3yrs and my peak weight was 150lbs at 6'1 with 11.5" biceps, gee, can we say skinny??? Recently a Gold's Gym opened in my area and I immediately joined and decided to get serious. I started on Jan. 16 2006 and weighed in at 145lbs. With just the N-Large II and a good diet (which consisted of 3000 calories and 200-220g of protein a day), I hit 168lbs as of March 16. I began adding in other supplements and am currently taking N-Large II, Nitrix, NO Xplode, and Cell Mass and my weight varies between 172lbs and 174lbs and my biceps are slightly over 14". In three months I've gone from being called "Sticks" (my nickname on my HS Football Team), to having people come up and comment on how much more built I've become. Did I gain some fat? Of course, but nothing I can't deal with. What the label says is one thing, experience is another.

I believe Muscle Milk is the best for gaining muscle. It all comes down to your diet though a supplement won't make up for a bad diet or bad training.

ARE YOU SERIOUS???

Muscle Milk is crap for goons who dont know about nutrition. Its got 350 Calories and 18 grams of fat per serving. 8 Grams of saturated fat. Thats as much as a whole Hersheys bar. Just 32 Grams of protein for all that??? Might as well get a can of tuna, youll do better than that crap n save money.

Hi All,

I've been wondering. I''m using gnc mega man for about 6 six weeks now, but it seems, alltough I'm training like hell, I do NOT loose any weight. I thought that gnc megaman only is a vitamin supplement and not some energiser or mussle builder. Am I wrong? For example, I train 4 times a week muay thai kickboxing en ine time I run 7 miles and I still weigh 270 pounds....
Should I stay off the megaman? The weight I feel best by is around 220 pounds.

The guy said he thought it was best for gaining muscle, and 350 calories will help do that. And fat isn't a bad thing.

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/md73.htm

Here is one article that says a certain amount of saturated fat is good for you. I could post hundreds of others that back it up, and you could find hundreds that would refute it. Bottom line, there isn't any reason to call people who use Muscle Milk goons.

what is the difference between cheap and expensive protiens anyways, there all the same, some are absorbed faster tehn others thats it. Cheap or not there all the same.

not necessarily true. the quality of the protein and the different kinds of protein are important as to how they are absorbed. I wouldnt waste money on some wal mart brand protein or anything like that. ON Whey appears to have the best bang for your buck, but I like Nitro Tech. AST's VP2 is the only protein worth using. It's

- the only 100% hydrolyzed peptide isolate
- contains 'bio active' peptide ioslates
- contains 23.5g of protein per scoop
- 0.5g fat
- less than 0.5g sugar
- Glutamine enchanced

It's scientifically proven to increase mass more than 615% than other proteins, and increases Type 2 fibres by 543%.

I'm not invovled with AST in any way, other than buying there products. I've been using it for around 6 months, for the odd time i'd train, but lately ive been training properly and im using it with NY-Tro and Muscle XGF and you see results every week. I've been using it properly for a week nearly, and already ive put on about 2-3 pounds.
There's so many companies out there that talk complete bull****, they try and pack as much key words into there products to sound great, but they are absolutely useless.
Generally im skeptical about companies in this business, but i came across AST through there website and read there research and Q&A for around a year before trying theyre products. I suggest you take a look at there website if your wanting to learn anything about exercise science.

Out of the proteins I've used, I got the best from Tropicana Ultra Heavyweight Protein (http://www.phoenixathletic.com/store/Tropicana-Ultra-Heavyweight-Protein-296.htm)

I'm currently on Weider's Muscle Builder (http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/weid/mb.html) and was on it before my 3 month hiatus from weight lifting. It seems to be ok, but nothing special.

I've also used Amino Research LeanMass Protein (http://www.nutrisport.co.uk/estorepro/proddetail.asp?productid=LM&catid=1)
but it was crap.

Next will be getting Dorian Yate's ProPeptide.

Most of you people are far too concerned about taste, putting quality and results second (most, not all I said). I've tried plenty, but I've been using Nitro-Tech for almost 6 months now and can't ever see myself switching again.

Works great for me and I actually like the taste. If guys like Jay Cutler, Branch Warren, Johnnie Jackson, David Henry, and Gustavo Badell all use it then I say 'good enough for me'.

And yes they actually use it, not just pose with it for ads. Nitro-Tech costs more but it works, so I deal with it.

I have just started buidling my body out... so for starters i was suggested 100% Whey from Muscle Systems which is supposed to be the cheapest product on the shelves and the most nutritious content of all. This was indicated to me by LTP, whose is in some ways my Idol and an old friend. Thanks Buddy..

What i was wondering is EAS Myoplex a better choice since some bouncers of a night club who work out at my local gym tell me that Myoplex is a waste of money, since its not that efficient as Muscle Systems..

Im really lost and dont hav much time coz in a few days my muscle systems supply is running out..so can anyone suggest how to make the right decision, i have just started working out 3 weeks ago. im just a freshie into the BB world..

ON whey is like crude oil, try Beverly muscle provider or American Whey.

Who ever said that ON makes you bulky should try some cardio and maybe some hi rep. super sets

As far as MR .327 lbs with 3% body fat and 725 lbs bench at 20 years old, if you are what you say, you should not only be the poster boy for every supplement you are taking but the poster boy for Upjohn and chinese GH.

I have tried many diffrent supplements over the years, from Optimum, to Met-rx and everything inbetween. The only protein that has stood up for me over time has been AST's VP2. I have zero stomach issues, and a noticeable increase in muscle mass and decrease in fat. Optimum nutrion even changed their formula to include more Isolate to copy AST's VP2. Copying is the highest form of flattery. Their label use to list concentrate as their first ingredient now it is Isolate, and their adds are screaming it loud and clear. Funny, it is the same message AST has been saying, for what 18 years or so...

Great topic. I'm getting ready to order more protein and I usually go with ON, but I'm willing to try something else. I looked through this whole thread and didn't see All The Whey's products mentioned - anyone use any ATW stuff? How was it and all that?

Also, I'm considering MSM's 10-lb bag too. Anyone have anything more to say about that?

Thanks!

It should be fairly OK if you work on your abs regularly. There are only 3g of fat per serving. You may take less than 4 scoops per serving if you wanna try it out 1st. I guess a little bit of fat is probably a necessary evil in the process of gaining weight by drinking a weightgainer shake.

I've "read" some excellent things about the AST VP2. I've been a lurker for quite some time, I've learned quite a bit from you guys. I've been on Muscle Milk and I really love the "taste" and I've had some great results with it. However, I don't like the amount of Fats ie saturated fats with half the calories coming from Fat. I know they say "good fats" (their canola oil and proprietary betapol blend of veggy oils i guess), but I'm not a big fan still.
What I plan to do to cut the amount of muscle milk i drink (i still love it and wanna use it for the casein aspects), but i wanna cut back to one scoop of it and finish off my protein "dosing" with the AST VP2. This may be dumb but Its what i plan to try. I was gonna just use Cyto's evopro, but why not go for the best (VP2) in my hybrid protein concoction. I'll let ya'll know how it tastes and what i think about the gains etc . . ..

I cant begin to describe how many protein powders I've tried. MuscleMilk, Syntha 6, every damn one that ON makes. And so far the best one I've found is MBI's Synergy protein. I like it the best for three main reasons. 1. It's time released and contains whey, egg, and casein isolates. And note they are all isolates no concentrates! 2. It has 56 grams of protein which is the highest potency protein on the market. 3. It comes in 5.5lbs at a reasonable price and tastes awesome. It has the best $/grams of protein on the market.

I was on the same protein for a while and loved the taste just not the results. I switched over to the AST VP2 and the Nytro Pro 40 for the more sustained realease protein. My gains in the past two months have been the best that I have had. All my lifts are up but more importantly I have added an inch to my arm size and lost 5 % body fat. Try it out. For those going to GNC go somewhere else and save a couple of bucks! Good luck with your stack.

I read this thread amongst others on this forum and I feel like crap because I've been using nothing but GNC products (Anabolic kit, Multi-vitamin, CLA, flax seed, Mega Whey Protein) and many people here don't like their products. I feel like I should definitely try some new stuff after reading the info on this site.

Anyhow, I'm new when it comes to supplements so I don't really know if a lot of the effects are simply placebo driven, but I've been taking GNC Mega Whey Protein for the last couple months as well as the aforementioned supps, and I've made gains. I've gained some weight (I'm 6'2" and I went from 195lbs - 207lbs in two months) but I look and feel a lot better (not to mention I'm stronger of course) and that counts for something. I've been taking 60g of the protein once after every workout and it seems to work. I'd like to possibly drop some pounds and just maintain around 205 while adding lean muscle mass. Maybe a protein change would help me to acheive that.

just some info on the product

it has 2600 callories and 184 grams of protein with 0 fat. now i find this a little bit too much to be adding ontop of my diet, so im thinking about just cutting the serving in half and doing it that way.

so any feedback on this product?

Hey. I used to use an Australian brand called Aussie Bodies Perfect protein which I enjoyed but then decided to give ON 100% a try. I bought the 10lb double choc as it is a similar price to what I usually pay. It was usually more expensive as i live in australia but its suddenly come down in price...hope it stays.

Firstly, I love the taste. Aussie bodies was great but ON is awesome too! I can just mix it alone with milk and it tastes like chocolate milk. When i mix it in my PWO with lime gatorade its a different taste but still awesome. Just got to get used to it...might try it with berry gatorade.

I would definatley say this is the best bang for you buck!

Does anyone else feel kinda guilty when they open the bag/tub and get a smell of that awesome chocolate smell? It smells too good to be healthy.

No I am not a rep for ON....just a happy user.

I have been using for 6 months now Matrix 5.0. Tastes great, really, best tasting protein i have tried yet. It is a sustained release protein, whey, milk and egg, but they wont tell me how much of each, I called :). I am going to call and ask if they have any info on serum levels of their product to back up the "sustained release" claim. Not that I dont believe them, I am just an "inquiring mind". BUT I like the product, and in principle it seems to be a quality product, for a reasonable price.

If nutrional labels and the description of how it's made say anything then are a lot of quality protein supplements that should deliver the same results if used the same way. I doubt if ON's gold standard is any better than let's say Dymatize's elite whey protein or many others with hydrolyze/isolate/concentrate formulas. I say if the nutritional labels show close amounts and describe that it's made the same way then just drink what you think tastes better.

If nutrional labels and processing methodology are any indication there are a lot of quality protein supplements that should deliver identical results if used the same way. I seriously doubt for instance if ON's gold standard really is any better than let's say Dymatize's Elite Whey protein or any number of other competitors with hydrolyze/isolate/concentrate formulas. I say if the labels show very similar values and production methods then just drink what you think tastes better.

Agreed, but balance that with what you can afford. There are quite a few out there that charge simply for the label, and quite a few more that are unbelievably inexpensive. Mostly similar stuff.

N-Large 2. LOL joking.

AST VP2 is by far a superior protein powder. Until I was getting absolutely no resulsts until I discovered AST Sports Science and now I place complete faith in them, and they have not dissapointed me yet.

Hey, i'm new to the site and fairly new to suppliments. I've been taking GNC's Mega Whey Protein for about 2 months now (tastes great) and gives you about 50g of protein per shake. now after reading everyone's testimonies i'm pretty sure i'm gonna switch over to the AST VP2. I mean I have gained a bit of muscle/weight (from 135lbs to 143lbs at 5"11) ya i'm skinny. but i've also been taking Kre-Alkalyn pills so some of the gain could be due to that.

Mostly wondering, it says per serving for the AST VP2 has 24g of protein. how would this benifit me if right now im' taking a shake that gives me 50g of protein per serving? I undrestand that its because of the grams (ie the AST is only 32g per serving where my protein powder is 51g at about 120g...but thats probably because its also to help build mass since i'm skinny) but i've decided to screw the mass building protein and i'll try and get the mass from just eating a bit more healthy food.

so basically, will I be getting enough protein out of the AST VP2? I'm sure the answer is yes because its so popular lol, just curious as to the difference since you're suppost to take 0.9g/lb or something. just wondering if this means instead of taking my shake 1-2 times a day which i do know, would I need to take it 3-4 times a day to suppliment the loss in protein?

Also i see most people are taking the Ny-Tro Pro-40 with it. is this extremely benificial? I'm from Canada and our prices are a bit steeper here. So i'll conside getting that at well if it befefit me greatly. but if not i'd like to know if just the AST VP2 will be ok since i'm still paying for gym membership a month, kre-alkalyn, multi vitamins and going to school lol.

sorry for the lengthyness, just trying to be detailed :)

Now, just curious, how many of you have these shakes more than 3 times a day? Curious if you notice gains, because I was just reading that having tons of whey isn't all that great because of its fast digestion factor. I am looking for somethin that is reasonable to take maybe 2-4 times a day since it's very hard for me to eat a good six meals a day because of work and training for soccer.

Cytogainer by Cytosport worked very well for me and tastes quite good with milk. My bench went up from about 265 to 370 in 7 months. My weight also went up from 175 to 191

I like a good blend of egg whites and Ion Exchange Whey.

Eclipse 2000 Ion exchange Whey and Bioplex Simply Whites one scope of each 1-2 times a day.

Post work out I alternate Muscle Link Recover x and Natures Best Isopure Mass.

Can't handle Lactose, so this works best for me. The Recover X has lactose, but i sacrafice every other month because it works real well as a post formula.

Body Fortress is no good? Is it just the taste that's bad or is it not effective in gaining mass?

i like the taste of optimum 100% whey with milk.

Is it true the carbs from milk slow the pickup of whey?

Muscle milk gave me amazing gains a few years ago, but its really expensive.

I've tried several different protein powders, mass gainers and MRPs. Here's a few:

Prolab N-Large - Worked great as a weight gainer. Tastes great. Doesn't mix very well.

EAS Myoplex Deluxe - Works well. Tastes like chalk. Doesn't mix well at all unless you use a blender, but then it gets a little foamy.

Designer Whey - Works great! Tastes Great! Mixes good with a blender.

ON 100% Whey GOLD Standard - Seems to work well. Tastes great! Mixes great! I started on this because it was ranked the number 1 seller on the BB.com store and has a great price per gram.

I think it's up in the air as far as which worked better for me between Designer and ON.

I'm also using Designer Whey's Optibol for my before-bed blend. Tastes great and seems to work.

Optimum Nutritions Pro Complex APS and Pro Complex Gainer seems to be the most effective protiens. There amino acid profiles are awesome and you can get great strength and mass from them.

Awesome, Im looking to gain weight and as soon as im done with the 100% whey protein, im gonna switch to that!

Milk is going to slow the digestion of whey. Mix it with water post workout or first thing in the morning

I use to use milk with my shakes when im bulking because it adds calories. id do milk, whey, oats, and PB. is there a better combo if the milk slows the uptake of whey? i dont like the idea of mixing PB and oats in a blender with water.
