Everyone who is boasting the ON Gold Standard must be relying soley on the Top Seller lists and what they read in other misinformed reviews. ON's whey isn't terrible, it has gotten better since they moved to WPI as the main source.. but it is FAR from the best.
Beverly International Offers the highest quality and it is ALSO what most pros use. Dorian Yates ProPeptide used to be up there, too, but since the switch to CNP Professional the quality is slightly less. Still it's good.
Next, the best for gaining muscle largely depends on the time of day. Before bed a Micellar Casein is great, and ISS Research offers Micellar Matrix, a great one for that use.
Another great option is Xtreme Formulations Ultra Peptide.. really high quality stuff but I haven't tried it yet. The problem is that most of you are basing your reviews of ON as if it is the highest quality. No, it is not. It is the cheapest for what you get, yes, but on a scale from 1-10 i'd give ON a 5-6.
Here's are my choices:
Post-Workout (Fast Absorbtion):
1. Beverly Intl. Muscle Provider
2. Pride Nutrition RESPECT
3. Ergopharm GF-Pro
4. AST VP2
5. Xtreme Formulations Ultra Peptide
Sustained Release (Slow)
1. Beverly Intl. Ultra Size or Ultimate Muscle Protein
2. ISS Research Micellar Matrix
3. ON's Casein
4. Muscle Milk or other similar

good post. repped (on recharge)
Ever since I switched from blends with WPC such as ON, Sportpharma, EAS and Champion Nutrition, and to a pure isolate for PWO, my gains have been a lot better. I can't wait to try CFM isolate, hydrolyzed and MPI, but all are more expensive. I would highly suggest a micellar casein or regular casein for pre-bed.

O.N. Pro Complex is by far the best protein to gain LEAN muscle mass. Why? Well, with an augmented de;ivery system of 60grams per serving you can be sure that none of your protein is wasted. With all the proteins (whey, Egg, and hydrolized) your body is digesting them at different rates and your muscles are constantly being fed.
Also the 15 vitamins and minerals are like having a multi-vitamin and protein together. Depending on how many shakes you have a day though determines the effectiveness of the vitamins and minerals
Finally, the 14grams of your BCAA's, including at least 5grams of glutamine per serving will almost guarentee your muscles will grow significantly.

I heard ON's 100% Whey Protein is one the best out there. So went brought some, only to have the dude at gnc, tell how it was ****tys product in the store. I was pretty surprised alot my friends use it, and people in forums seem to like alot to. Anyone got opion on that, and how much of a difference is there between brands.
This is my opinion only, so take it for just that. ON is popular because it is one of the most inexpensive protiens on the market. That doesn't make it total crap by any means, but in MY OPINION that is why it is popular. You can buy a 5 lb. tub for the same price as a 2.2 lb. tub of another brand. I personally don't like the way ON tastes. I use Beverly Intl. protien which fits into the category I described above. Money is not a problem and I want the very best I can get.
Also, as a good rule of thumb the people at GNC don't know what they are talking about. I went in there one time and asked a question and this fat sack of crap handed me a tub of protien and said "this is what I use." I laughed and walked out. Never went back. Shop online....it's much MUCH cheaper.

I drink ON because honestly i think its the best tasting. I have the rich chocolate whey.
Then i got vanilla in ON pro complex. I take natty p'nut butter,8oz milk, ice and half a bananna talking about good thats like a cheat meal but loaded with protein and right at 500 calories and almost 80g of protein.

The stuff tastes amazing. I mix mine (Rich Chocolate Milk) with water for less calories and fat and it tastes like hot cocoa but its cold.
In reply to mrtwister007: "Some" people who work at GNC are people who work for a living just like you and me. If you think their stupid then why go in yo the store in the first place??? And consider this, maybe you should have asked someone who "knew" what they were talking about. I think the last person I would ask for muscle gaining advice would be Bill Gates. But I'm not going to ask Arnold what a dual processor does.

listen to AdamWM he knows what he's talking about. Post workout Ergopharm is one of the best possible powders out there in terms of quality, just doesn't taste great or mix well. Beverly is definitely up there across the board, just more expensive. Ultra Peptide 2.0 is awesome but to me more fit for bedtime. My issue with it is the high fat content..might be "good" fat but "good" fat in a shake is not good when you already get it in your daily diet (salmon, Peanut Butter, etc). ISS Micellar Matrix is the best bedtime combo in terms of taste and profile but i wish they made a 5 LBS tub.
Also, not sure who said it above, but Dymatize doesn't get enough love. It's a great option for post workout in terms of taste, ingredients, and cost. Blows ON away in the "mid size sedan" category in my humble opinion.
Bottom Line: DO NOT LISTEN TO THE POSTERS WHO KNOW NOTHING AND GO BY TOP SELLER LISTS AND OTHER PEOPLE'S REVIEWS! I can find you 5-10 other Chocolate flavored proteins that taste better than ON. It's not that it's a bad protein but don't fool yourself into thinking there are not better options for taste and ingredients (though perhaps not always cost).

Let me start by saying sorry if I offended you. But, my experience with GNC employees has never been good. I have never, and I mean never seen anyone working at GNC around here that looked like they had ever been in a gym. That doesn't mean all GNC employees are like that, but that's my observation. I'm sure there are some that actually work out....they just don't work around here.
Second, the last time I went into GNC was prior to the internet explosion, which you probably are too young to remember. Back then, we didn't have this wealth of information at our fingertips so we had to ask people questions.
Lastly, the first line of my post said MY OPINION ONLY. Don't be so sensitive.

How do you support this statement? Reading the label on the bottle doesn't count. Whey, egg, and other forms of protein may be broken down and absorbed at differ rates but I have never read anything to support that. Plus there are plenty of papers out there suggesting glutamine doesn't do anything for weight lifting.

First of all, Thanks for the reply MrTrister007.
Second, Crewkip I know it works because I've been using it for the past month and I've gained 13lbs. Also, ON is one of the OLDEST and most respected names in the suppliment industry. And if their is anyone in here that knows anything about protein they would agree with me when I say that their is not just ONE type of protein.THEREFORE they are not going to be digested at the same rate by the small intestines. O.N. has an augmented (yes, its on the label and may be a complex word for some people) delivery system. And the protein in ON Pro Complex is an Isolate which just means smaller fragments or in technical terms, predigested protein.
Which is nice because if your body does get to much protein at the same time in one day it will create a chemichal called Uric Acid, which is poisonous, instead of new muscle tissue.
Finally, anyone in here ALSO knows who is trying to put on muscle size that, GLUTAMINE is EXTREMELY important when trying to gain size. Some say its the most significant amino acid for bodybuilders hands-down. And YES their is research that proves that their is a greater than 400% greater increase in growth hormone release, and its also the primary component in ones effort to eliminate catabolic effects when training.
You should try some glutamine if you want better results. Wouldn't reccomend over 10 grams a day though.

This is not an argument so don't take this the wrong way. I use O.N. Gold Standard and love it so I'm not bashing their product either.
Extra protein (especially in the form of whey) is not likely a source for increased Uric acid. UA is formed from nucleic acids, specifically purines. You would have to be on something like the Atkins diet to see significant increases in uric acid, or have a disease like Diabetes or Lesch-Nyhan syndrome.
Yes protein can come from many different sources but when it comes right down to is the same amino acids are making up these protein sources. Whether or not these are broken down in different ways is something I have yet to read. I don't believe the break down of protein in our stomach and GI tract is a rate limiting step, so it seems as though these different forms of protein should be absorbed in similar fashions. I could be wrong though. Here to learn.
As for glutamine here are some of the papers which helped me formulate my opinion.

Well I use to weight train quite a bit at 16-19 years of age. I didnt really take anything then but one time for a bit til I had too much Niacin then I just stuck to diet.
Right now I just got back into weight training at 24 about a month ago. Im on only ONs 100% Whey Natural and im seeing a change already. I dont buy into that cross vs micro filtered protein yadda yadda crap. Simply TOO many people are taking basic ON and other micro filtered wheys and quite a few are competitive size big. I deffinately recommend ONs Whey. Get your longer acting proteins in your diet.
I eat a lot of Rib Eye steaks the size of my fist and cheese.
But different strokes for different folks. What works for some wont for others.

CROSS-FLOW MICROFILTRATION....THE PROCESS DESCRIBED IN LAYMAN'S TERMS
Whey protein isolate can be manufactured using different methods. The Protein Factory carries three different whey isolate proteins. Thus we feel the need to inform our customers of each different method. Cross-Flow Microfiltration is a natural, high tech manufacturing process that uses ceramic filters to remove the fat, lactose, and other unwanted materials, hence isolating the protein. The protein is NOT subjected to chemicals, therefore protein is left unharmed and in its original state. This leads to added benefits over ion-exchange whey isolate, here are a few.
1. Cross-flow microfiltration possesses more calcium and less sodium than ion-exchange. Thus, women and athletes on performance enhancement drugs might want to consider cross-flow microfiltration as their choice for obvious reasons.
Note Glanbia Data
2. Cross-Flow Microfiltration Protein contains different proteins that add to its appeal which ion-exchange does not posses. These proteins are important in the immune system and maintaining biological activity of some proteins. Thus athletes with a risk of over training or intense training bodybuilders would benefit from CFM.
Alpha-Lactabumin helps in the process of digesting minerals and enhancing the immune system.
Glycomacropeptides enhance the immune system by viruses binding to the whey protein instead of the intestinal tract, thus less the chance of becoming infected.
3. CFM whey isolate has the highest level of undenatured protein available (.99%)
Note Glanbia Data
WARNING! Some supplement companies try to use the words cross-flow microfiltration in their list of ingredients when actually they're using none at all. Cross-flow microfiltration whey isolate is trademarked by Glanbia. The label must posses the trademarked symbol.

The new musclemilk has lean lipids and MCTs which actually help you get leaner. It's called good fats, The new cake batter is great tasting and i have been getting way leaner from this supp compared to other wheys. I do use ONs gold with my meals though for an added pro boost.

Protein.com's various Isolate protein powders. You can easily slam down a 60-90 gram shake with no bloat and be able to eat again in 2-3 hours. Some of these other brands gave me horrible distention and digestion issues, if your product is high quality isolate it will do this to almost no one. I like premium fruit punch right now and did fine with the premium chocolate and vanillas as well(just getting tired of the same old same old everyday).

I think that the best protein powder is Premium Whey Protein. But I only take I scoop before I work out. It tastes great and helps me gain muscle and loose fat.
Cell Tech and Nitro tech. Second would be Whey protein I think would be ok. But with the cell tech you must eat big. Have a good breakfast or wherever your about to workout.

use 2 scoops post workout within 45mins your body per 1kg can absorb 1g of protien (compare to normal state of 1 kg to a .55g absorbtion) so 45 grams protien plus 20g of dextrose/gluscose = great postwork out

I'm very fond of ON's Pro Complex. Here's the protein blend:
Whey Protein Isolate, Glutamine Peptides, L-Leucine, Egg Albumin, Whey Peptides, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine
I like the isolate with the egg albumin. Fast absorbtion (whey isloate) with a few hours of continued benefit (egg albumin.) Plus, it has 30 grams of protein per scoop. I've got the strawberry and it tastes AWESOME with skim milk. It's a little more money than the ON 100% whey, but I think the benefits are worth it.

i've been reading a lot throughout the site, and apparently different brands of whey protein may give different results.
unfortunately, the EAS whey protein i've been using isn't really helping me all that much -- i have no idea why. whey is whey, i dont understand why different brands do different things.
anyone else have any experiences with EAS whey?

EAS is pretty expensive... but at least they have some substance to back it up. They use higher quality isolate instead of whey protein concentrate.. and from what I hear, they taste considerably better than other proteins.

Are you talking about their protein powder? if so you are wrong my friend. Not trying to be rude but they use almost all WPC.

Probably just have WPI in there to make it look better but not a lot of it. That is why it can be so cheap.

Nitrotech is what you call a protein powder combo. I know it has whey protein (the fast digesting, common kind) and I believe it has some casein protein in there too ( the slow digesting kind found in cottage cheese for example). It also has creatine in it too.
People have mixed feelings about these hybrid blends. I mean they work, but a lot of people like to take their whey, casein, and creatine at specific times of the day, not wanting to ingest them all at the same time necessarily.
If I was you I would possibly pick up some ON 100% Whey protein (a lot of flavors you'll like no-doubt) and if you can afford it possibly some of ON's casein protein or MuscleMilk as it's pretty common too.

Here's are my choices:
Post-Workout (Fast Absorbtion):
1. Beverly Intl. Muscle Provider
2. Pride Nutrition RESPECT
3. Ergopharm GF-Pro
4. AST VP2
5. Xtreme Formulations Ultra Peptide
Sustained Release (Slow)
1. Beverly Intl. Ultra Size or Ultimate Muscle Protein
2. ISS Research Micellar Matrix
3. ON's Casein
4. Muscle Milk or other similar
Do any of these companies offer their products in 5lb or 10lb tubs? Ive been using CNP Pro-Peptide and i cant even find that in 5lb tubs. Im on my 5th 2lb tub of pro peptide and its gettin expensive!

Hey guys. I'm bout 203 pounds 5'11-6 feet. Right now I'm using Muscle Milk protein, but it's expensive if you follow the serving instructions. Got a 2.97 lb tub and it's about gone already after a week. Given that I'm trying to pack on lean muscle and lose some weight, what protein should I be using right now? I've been thinking about ON 100% or Syntha-6. But I'm trying to move away from BSN because they are too expensive and have too much sugar IMO. So any suggestions or insights?

are you using the MM for a meal replacement? if you're looking for something after your workout, go with a whey protein... much cheaper and much more servings/container. MM is all about taste... i know EAS and other companies have similar protein blends that are cheaper... i think it's called 'max milk'

Nope I take it after workouts and before I got to bed. Otherwise I'm trying to stick to a low carb diet like I had during wrestling season. About 100-200 grams. I eat about 5-6 times a day. 3 main meals and the rests are snacks. I take protein about 4 times a day.

quoted from their website:

First off...I don't consider my self an expert. I would take advice from a guy on here that looks like the incredible hulk before listening to me. With that being said, the Designer Whey tastes great and most importantly it does not upset my stomach, cause constipation or diahrea. LOL My stomach does not like Soy based proteins, so I stay away from those. This whey protein powder is reasonably priced at the Vitamin Shoppe and I throw in a banana, olive oil (for good cholesterol) and knox gelatin (for joints) to make a breakfast shake.

I do the same thing but have found I prefer to use infusion over syntha because it tends to fill me up a bit more being more of an MRP (but 4 scoops at once = hella expensive). Nu-tek pro 5 has a similar blend but with micellar casein which labrada v60 does not have.
i was on labrada before and liked it, but for the cost, variety of flavors, and quality of ingredients, IMHO:

By looking at the stuff that goes in this supplement, if you continue using it, it would probably kill you. The saturated fat is A LOT! Hi just a quick question it's probably been answered a thousand times but i'm not sure where to search.
i've just bought optimum nutritions 100% whey and casein, i get up at 7 in the morning and train at 10am, when would be the best time to take each type of protein? i know casein before bed as it's slow release, but would i take the whey before and after training or mix the two at any point?
also i've noticed a lot of proteins with whey casein and lots of other types of protein in, are there any advantages in just taking whey over having 3/4 shakes of this kind with different time release protein?
thanks. pete

As long as you're eating a meal every 2 hours or so, you should be fine without a blend.

you mean casein?.......... i mean it is the first ingredient
I picked up Syntha-6 recently and was blown away by it. First off it's freakin delicious. The strawberry milkshake flavor is the best tasting "snack" I've ever had....it tastes forbidden. You don't get much for what you pay, like most BSN products, but it is extremely high quality. I've been taking 2 scoops of of it only once a day, to save money, about 2 hours before bed. During the rest of the day I drink good old ON 100% whey. This stuff is tested and proven, and you can get a crap load of it for a reasonable price. Rocky Road is my favorite flavor, but it tastes like garbage next to syntha-6.
So far the combination of both has given me some good gains! Try it!

what about casein? whey as well?
whats this syntha-6 about? never heard of it. (quick review shows that its casein I think?)
I have tried both Nitro Tech and ON 100%. To be honest I felt really bloated around my waist when I was taking ON, but I was also taking Kre-Alkalyn creatine, Nitrix and Tribex. Before the Tribex I took Methyl 1-D, I did bulk up but I never could tell which one was giving me the doughnut feeling. When I was taking Nitro Tech I was verry lean, never felt bloated and I ate everything that was in my way I was the biggest and the strongest I have ever been. When I was taking ON with all the other supplements I ate verry clean but nothing I could do to take away from my bloat.

Syntha-6 is a protein with several different types of protein to give you the maximum absorption possible. It includes whey proteins for quick absorption(perfect for pre/post workout) and then slower digesting proteins like casein that takes up to 6 hours to digest (hence the 6 in the name). It's an all around great protein because it can be taken really at any time and provides all the benefits of whey and casein. Great for right before bedtime to keep your body from going into catabolic state. Not to mention it tastes amazing!

On's Casein is solid before bed...but has anybody tried On's After Max? Pretty impressive ingredient list:
360 Calories
4g Fat
40g high-glycemic carbs
40g Protein
5g Creatine
5g Glutamine
I use this right after I wake up, after any workout, and 1-2 scoops After Max mixed with 1 heaping scoop Casein before bed. Anabolic 24/7. Its not the best tasting stuff out there, but it won't make you fat like Muscle Milk. Its like a step up from the ON 100% Whey.

Best Whey im still trying to figure out. I use to be one of the dumb ones who thought it (ON Whey) was the best until I saw the light. Soon you will to, if your serious about building anyway.

I was a big fan of VP2 till 2004 when I saw the research. As a very serios bodybuilder and competing to very high stand I decided to try the HP-100 because every pound of muscle for me means a lot. It wasn't the best tasting protein but I didn't care I wanted to see if deliveres the 14 days results.
After 3-4 days of using this protein I found the pump I'd got from training stayed with me even the next morning. First I thought maybe it's illusory but after 14 days I realized the density and the tickness I got from this protein it's real. Since those days I've been using full range of ASN Nano products with outstanding results.

personally, ive found Multipower's Weight Gain the best for adding on extra muscle mass. It contains 53g of protein, 65g of complex carbs and 3g of creatine per 75g of powder.
There are a few drawbacks though. It isnt cheap...a 2.5kg tub costs around ?55.00...and the tub lasts me for around 3 weeks. Another drawback is its taste...imagine tasting sheep urine, broccoli, and chocolate...all together...and thats what it tastes like! lol i find doing these simple steps makes it easier to stomach...1) take a gulp 2) grit your teeth 3) breathe out 4) hold your nose 5) close your eyes 6) head back and swallow!...and repeat until the shakes all gone lol
But we dont take shakes because the taste nice...we take them because they give us results...and Multipowers Weight Gain gives you results

I stick with ON, I honestly cant say I can compare it with anything else since Ive used ON from the start, but Ive had steady gains in the right places with it, I switched from their whey to their Pro Complex for post workout, and in the past I used their 2:1:1 recovery after tougher workouts (although it is rather expensive for its size, so I dont usually have 2:1:1 on hand unless I have some extra cash), and all have worked well.

I've been lifting for a month now and I started out with Nitro-Tech like most people new to the sport. It's what you see on the shelf when you walk into a GNC or Vitamin World with massive guys all over the bottle. I have seen a small increase in overall size but like any compound product it feels like something is wasted after drinking. As a beginner I don't think it's a bad product, but as I start to get serious into adding mass and not just something I drink down 3 times a day, you have to get serious into your supplementation. Nitrotech doesn't do that for me.

CytoSport doesn't make bad products. I've been using their EvoPro (26g protein/32g serving) for the last month and have seen huge strength gains. I stack it with Fast Twitch, a multi and Animal Pak Flex. I've gained minimal weight on the scales (2-4lbs) over the last month, but i'm more defined and my one rep maxes have increased huge.

The fat they use (as well as other companies, IE cytosport) is called a medium chain triglyceride. It's a fat that is digested and used as energy. Doctors give MCT's to AIDS patients when their digestive system starts to quit and they're unable to digest complex carbs.

That could be a good thing or a bad thing. The excess calories and fat content could mean more fat rather than more muscle.

over the years, i've tried several different brands. on's, by far, is the best tasting (not too rich). plus, it's real easy to mix and a lot easier on the digestive system, if you know what i mean. in my opinion, if your protein is giving you the sh-ts, your digestive system isn't breaking it down and absorbing it as well as it should. which means, it's being wasted. which means, so is your hard-earned money. if you're not sure about a new protein powder, buy the smallest possible amount as a trial. or, better yet, if you can get samples from of your fellow gym rat buddies, that would be good, too. fortunately, my local supplier lets me return it in exchange for something else if there's anything about it i don't like.

Allmax IsoFlex or Ultimate Nutrition Iso-Sensation93. Both have high % of whey isolate per serving.
Most of the whey protein powders you find will contain whey protein concentrate with some whey isolate mixed in. Whey protein isolate is more expensive than whey concentrate- because it's higher biological value(BV), and higher quality(more pure). Whey protein isolate contains more protein with less lactose and fat per serving. Usually, isolate contains 90-98% protein while concentrate contains 70-85%. Also, if you are lactose intolerant , isolate might be a better choice since it contains less lactose.

Hi there, i have been going to the gym for a few years now and after only noticing a bit of difference I decided to invest in some protein powder. I used a local shop to get Whey Protein Isolate by a company called Winning Ways. Coming to the end of my tub and I have again noticed a bit of difference. I am now looking to get some advice of you guys on this site as to what make, type of protein (if that) I should go for now. Am 21, go the the gym 3-4 times a week and looking to buff out for the summer! We all want a great beach body and I am one of them! So please HELP! :) Cheers people !!

Upon reading these posts, I have not decided yet on which one. I wonder what you opinions on Cytosport Muscle Milk is. I read about this:-
"World?s first evolutionary muscle builder
Muscle Milk helps to grow muscle faster than gainers, whey, or even creatine. This increased muscle growth is possible because Muscle Milk is the first product patterned after Nature?s ultimate anabolic food ? human mother?s milk.
Locked within the composition of human mother?s milk are long-held secrets to muscle growth potential. After years of study, we have actually duplicated these important muscle growth factors into Muscle Milk.
Muscle milk helps you grow muscle like never before, even for the hardest gainers!
While human milk is the quintessential growth promoter, we found ways to improve on it for even greater muscle synthesis. For example, we reduced lactose and fat, while discovering a way to recreate the lean-promoting lipids in human milk.
LeanLipidsTM burns fat?instead of storing it!
Leading scientists assessing the true role of fats in increasing lean muscle growth have shown all fats are not created equal. The type of fat determines whether you use it for muscle energy or store it as body fat! The LEANLIPIDS used in Muscle Milk promote fat loss 3 ways:
Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs) the predigested ?fast burning fats? are more likely burned for muscle energy and heat than stored as fat. Of total lipids, human mother?s milk contains approximately 20% MCTs. Muscle Milk replicates this important lipid structure.
Long-chain polysaturated fatty acids are also less likely to be stored as fat. Special enzyme engineering makes these lipids more functional, enhancing mineral retention and anti-inflammatory response.
Recent research reveals calories with engineered lipids, taken before and during workouts, promote leanness. It is thought that these calories are used for workout energy, with less deposited as fat.
So while Muscle Milk may contain slightly more fat than low-fat-high-carb products, our LEANLIPIDS are designed to help you get leaner.
EVOPRO- nature?s ultimate anabolic protein amino blend
Human milk is composed of unique and highly complex proteins, peptides and amino acids, which promote rapid muscle tissue growth. Nature created this precise mix to stimulate muscle growth to higher levels, and EVOPRO is the ultimate nitrogen delivery source.
Studies show that growth factors found in mother?s milk can wake up inborn growth receptors even in adults. These growth receptors, which help boost immunity and growth in infants, are ?turned on? to exert anabolic metabolism. Whether you are 4 or 44, these growth receptors are ready to be awakened, and lactose free Muscle Milk is the best way.
These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any diseases."

That would be a big mistake. ONs Whey is not that good at all. You need a quality WPI and Ergopharms is among the best. Try Dutch Choclate or Vanilla, the tastes do take some getting use to but the quality and digestive support is rare in proteins these days.

Big mistake? Explain your logic behind this (I did read your reviews btw and you don't knock the ON Whey i use like that) As long as your not one of those guys who believes in that magical over 100 WPI (impossible) then NO. ON's Whey is not trash. Concentrate is less absorbable, yes.. but it is also slower burning than isolates (partly why it's not as absorbable) So as far as being "not that good at all" That is far from the truth. i just purchased optimums whey protein. and on the directions it says to mix one scoop in 8 ounces of water or milk. but i heard you should take the amount of your weight in grams. for example im 200 pounds so i should take 200 grams of protein. every scoop is only 31 grams so that means i have to take about 6 and a half scoops. that seems like a little bit too much. is that correct?

Concentrate is less absorbable, yes.. but it is also slower burning than isolates (partly why it's not as absorbable) So as far as being "not that good at all" That is far from the truth. It's not as efficient as Isolates but damn near as good as it gets.
The way I see it why settle for less? It's your body youll do as you wish but there is far better out there. ON was only big because of its cost effectiveness, this is changing. Why settle for ONs Whey when you can get a WPI WITH digestive support like Ergopharms GF Pro, etc.. The flavoring systems are better to. ON needs to update their formula, desperately or lower price to compete in tomorrows market.

On 100% Gold is best, but I would only recommend the fruit flavors, you will typically be mixing whey with water post workout and all I can say is...just imagine cookies and cream flavored water....fckin disgusting

Lets see I've tried:
Muscle Milk - Tasted good and saw some results but felt I should've seen more for the amount of time I was putting into the gym.
GNC 100% Whey Protein - Tasted like ****.
ON 100% Whey and Pro Complex - I use both, Pro mainly for post workout, both taste good and work good.
Syntha-6 - Like the slow digesting proteins and amino acids. Good for taking right before bed, thats what I do.

ON pro complex=60g protein per serving
ON serious mass- when trying to put some weight on
Doc Mahns

I use pro complex, bunch of goodies in it, a few different types of protein. It's more expensive, but each serving is 2 scoops and 60 grams protein per serving. I cut mine in half because i don't need 60 grams at once unless i'm trying to replace a meal. so it's a little more expensive, but a lot more bang for your buck vs. 100% Whey

pre-workout:
2 androbolix pills (daily dosage)
black powder
6 nitrace pill form (daily dosage)
post workout:
50g ON 100% WHEY protein
3 scoops Muscletech Anabolic HALO
I am almost through my first tub of Anabolic Halo and half way through my first cycle of Androbolix Testosterone Amplifiers. Basically my goal is to put on massive size asap without taking harmful supplements. I also own ISS Re-Satr8 creatine but have not been taking it because it upsets my stomach to take creatine the anabolic halo and protein all post-workout and have it all sit in my stomach.
What do you guys think about what I am currently taking? Please help me out with suggestions on what supplements I could change up or add into my program. My main goal is to put as much muscle mass on as possible especially in my arms and also wants to get a strong, cut core/stomach. Would a fat burner be efficient and safe to add in?
