if you like whey protein isolate..

Intek Isolate Evolution is hard to beat. i get it at a local shop 30 bucks for 3 pounds and the taste of their red ice flavor is great by itself, or mixed with a sports drink or juice PWO.

check intek out..they make a good combo protein too

American whey works well for the price. $60 for 10lbs @ taylorsnutirtion.com. has protease and something else so you don't offend anyone with your stinkass.

i'm pretty sure this is the store i've been getting it from.

here's there direct website if bb will let me post ithttp://www.nutrition4lessonline.com/
(888) 266-3802 to place an order over the phone

you can ask them info i guess...intek's website is still under construction as they appear to be a newer company.

if that doesn't help you out then the hell with it LOL j/k...

you can also check out protein factory as they have an awesome sale on their WPI. it's only chocolate and vanilla flavored though if i remember correctly. intek's comes in red ice and blue ice frm the store i get from locally...their combo protein is cookies n cream and i didn't see any other flavors. IMO the red ice tastes better than the blue ice, and is one of the best if not thee best fruit flavored proteins i've tasted...you'd swear they were using at least some sugar in it but they don't.

Why is the Optimum Whey only rated an 8.9 if it's the best one?. I'm a beginner & I'm not particular on brand as long as I get results. I want to add 10-15 lbs of muscle by July if at all possible. Is Optimum Whey 100% Gold Standard the best or what would you all suggest?.

Eat lots of lean meats. Use the search feature for this site and you should be able to answer any questions you have.

10-15 lbs of muscle maybe a little optimistic in that time frame.

I wouldnt say its optomistic, but if your looking to gain some mass, I would definatley recomend that you take a weight gainer instead. I gained 7 pounds in 2 weeks taking Up Your Mass protein, while some people knock it because it has a soy based protein,it worked for me. You could also look into cyto gainer, or muscle juice.

I'm about 155-160 lbs tops right now, and will have picture's forthcoming. As I said, I'm completely new and although I have a personal trainer, I want to learn the what's & the why's and the how's of bodybuilding correctly. I've thought about taking a weight gainer to gain the needed weight but isn't protein one of the 3 essentials of body building?. I was under the impression it's 1. Multi-Vitamin 2. Protein 3. Glutamin. Can anyone direct me to where to look on the forums to find what lean meats/food I should be eating & how much?. I know this thread is not the place to discuss anything other then the best protein powder & I want to respect that.

As far as Protein powder's go, would you say ON 100% Gold is the best or ON Platinum or another?

Uhh not sure about your ranking of supplements there..
in my opinion 1) fish oil/multi/Bcaas 2) Protein 3) Creatine.

And on the subject of protein.. most all mainstream whey proteins are fairly similar in composititon.. just look for one that meets your flavor reqs and price reqs as well and yur good to go.

I think everyone's right here, in a way. I don't think it's too optimistic to want to add 10-15 lbs of WEIGHT in that amount of time, but I do think that adding that much MUSCLE would be extremely tough. A weight gainer would definitely help if you have trouble eating enough calories of real food. Any time you're looking to gain quickly, eating a large enough surplus will most likely add a little fat as well, so all of that weight is not muscle alone. That's why many use bulks and cuts to balance it out.

Thanks everyone for the help, it's much appreciated. :-) I think I'm going to go with ON Gold Standard 100% Whey or their Platinum Whey for my protein. Then Orange Triad for my Multi-Vitamin and Controlled Labs Green Magnitude for my creatine. I don't know if Creatine is supposed to be used be a beginner at the start or to get through the first wall so we'll see. Then Fish oil & a locked down diet & I should be doing well nutritionally & supplement wise.

So I've been using ON 100% Whey for the most part and it's definitely my favorite so far. I've also tried out Muscle Milk and GNC Amp Wheybolic Extreme and I liked them, they were tasty, but I've still kept going back to ON.

I was thinking about trying out Syntha-6 because I've been so happy with NO-Xplode so thought I'd give some more BSN products a try but after going through this thread I wont bother and just stick with ON. Syntha-6 also has a lot more calories from carbs and fat and less protein in one serving which is a definite downside. Since most of the time I'm drinking it is post workout and in the morning I want something that is fast-acting, no need for extra carbs.

Which flavor should I get next? I've had the Chocolate, Strawberry, and Mocha Cappuccino. All of them were delicious.

Haha, I've actually been thinking about trying this one but wasn't sure if I wanted to commit to a whole 5 lbs of it-same thing with that Cake Batter. Besides the standard post-workout shake I like to mix it in the morning with some yogurt or oatmeal so I'm not sure how those flavors would go with that. Maybe that's a good reason to get it now while I still have about 1 lb left of the chocolate.

Haha, I'm easily talked into spending money on new suppies

And regarding your earlier posts I'd go with 100% Whey. It is probably just as good and cheaper. I normally have 2 scoops PWO and if you look at the nutrition facts that covers about 10g of glutamine I would have to add in otherwise. I don't know why but Platinum doesn't show how much BCAAs and other aminoes it has on the nutrition label.

The cake batter one sound's good too, and when I get some I'll be getting the Chai or the cake batter now that you've mentioned it. :-p I think Chai would go better with oatmeal &/or yogurt better then cake batter but everyone's taste's are different too.

I am definitely going to go with ON 100% when I can afford to get some for my protein & it including glutamine is a good thing. I weigh 166, how much glutamine a day should I be getting?.

SO, it's ok to take protein shakes pre & pwo?

What is creatine and why should I add it to my supplements? For the record, Im taking Optimum 100% Whey and Animal Cuts. I hear all the time about 'optimizing' my workouts with various supplements, creatine, casein, NO-xplode etc, but I have no clue what they do outside of thermogenics and protein powders.

ur comparing apples to oranges my friend. ON's 100% Whey Gold is a 100% whey protein powder comprising of only whey proteins which are ideal for use after workouts and first thing in the morning. The product profile u r talking about is a multi-blend which is a medium to slow release to be used at other times of the day. As for ur fancy words "undenatured", "high fraction", CFM etc.. all of the whey proteins in ON's 100% Whey Gold are undenatured and high fraction anyway due its quadlpex blend of 4 WPI/WPC/WPP's.

Sorry for the noob question, but by this school of thought that whey morning and post workout is ideal, should one then pursue another type of protein for throughout the day?

general guideline is about 1g per lb of bodyweight. Anything around 2 g/lb of bodyweight is gonna lead to a very protein-rich toilet bowl everytime you go numero uno :D

Just wanted to throw in that I've been using Vectron, the prolibra fat burning protein ****. When you mix it, it gets all foamy (milk or water), tastes ok, and has little to no effect. Maybe it's because I'm cutting, but I just hate the fact that it foams up and that's more than enough reason for me not to get it again.

Not being an ass, totally serious here. How do you attribute your results to your protein powder? Did you do the exact same thing previously, (routine/diet/other supplements/sleep/water, etc) and the results weren't as good?

I have found that Pro Complex is the best protein ever made for all around combination of performance, taste and how easy it mixes. The downside is obviously the price but the difference over the long haul is only cents per day.

I am actually about to order some of their new Platinum Hydro Whey because anytime they can improve on Pro Complex, I am buying. But damn, now we're really talking difference in price. Oh well, you get what you pay for right? It looks pretty much the same as GNC's AMP Wheybolic, which surprisingly I have heard very good things about. However I called my friends crazy for paying GNC's BS markup, even with the gold card but it turns out that it is about the same price as ON's Hydro and ON i have always thought to be one of the best priced supplements. Ugggg

I have also had really good results from Universal's Real Gains. It has more fat but nothing compared to Muscle Milk. Muscle Milk obviously tastes good but so do milk shakes. If you like Muscle Milk, switch over to Monster Milk for pretty much the same product but less fat and couple nice adds. Monster Milk was decent but for the money, not acceptable.

ON's Gold Standard is decent too and I got better results from it than I did from either Monster or Muscle Milk but there really was a noticeable difference when I used Pro Complex. For only about $10 more for the 5lb size, Pro Complex is definitely my choice. I will let you know what I think about the Platinum Hydro when I get it. I am also going to try and talk my buddy out of some of his Wheybolic so I can at least see how it tastes and mixes. However I can't see myself ever buying a GNC product unless its on a major sale.

Good lifting to you.

Anyway to get more protein grams with fewer cals?

ANadler
03-12-2010, 12:18 AM
Any kind of pure whey isolate is always a good choice.

The link to Nutrabio's website posted above is good. So is Allmax's Isonatural, Nature's Best Isopure and Optimum's Platinum Hydrowhey.

Pro Complex looks like a great product as well. Generally, the prices will reflect the protein's quality.

There's a few interesting ones I've found in the supplement store. Sun Warrior has a raw vegan brown rice protein which, because it's a protein source that grows in the ground, probably has a lot of beneficial phytonutrients that dairy-based proteins don't have.

Or maybe not. I'll post a review when I try it. It's got a perfect 10 score so far.

The Protein Factory brand has some different ones as well. Super Plasma Protein is 100% bioavailable bovine serum albumin. You get 1 full pound of protein for your 1 pound container. But it has no reviews and I have no idea how useful it is. Maybe I'll try it as some point, not sure if I want to be a guinea pig for that.

I don't know if it's better or not cuz 100% is pretty good stuff but I'm planning on trying it out when I run out cuz I like the extra few grams of protein. I'm sure that's where the extra calories come from.

I take it only for post-workout cause it's pretty pricey. One scoop does the trick. It mixes great, shake for about 10 seconds, wait 5 seconds, shake another 10 seconds wait 5 seconds and drink. Goes down smooth and tastes amazing. I mix with about 10 ounces of water. Been using it since it first started being sold at stores. Since I'm allergic to dairy, it was either this or isopure and I can't stand the taste of zero carb isopure. I will definitely be buying more tubs. Price is worth the quality. BTW I take strawberry. Anything vanilla or chocolate makes me gag no matter what. Being allergic to dairy, I've never tasted chocolate or vanilla since the taste feels foreign my taste buds reject it.

All these powders come from 4 or 5 main manufacturers. And if I'm not mistaken, ON makes the protein for GNC. Just get yourselves a cheap WPI
/WPC blend, and you're good to go. Don't fall for the fancy marketing hype BS. :)

Optimum Whey or Optimum Hydro Whey?

What are some benefits of one over the other? Also supplementing with Optimum Casein before going to sleep.

As far as I have learned, the difference is uptake speed. Optimum Whey is a blend of several forms of whey (Whey Isolate, Ion Exchanged Whey, Whey Concentrate) these forms are all absorbed by the body at different speeds, with Isolate being the fastest.

However, Hydrolysed Whey is the speed king. The protein is so broken down, that (allegedly, don't take my word for it) the body absorbs it almost instantly.

So the question is When do you take your protein? If you are looking for a post workout protein then Hydrolysed Whey (like ON Platinum) is the best choice because your body will take it faster. If all you need (or want) is a protein supplement for daily use then Optimum(or any other) will do the job.

Having said that Whey in itself is a pretty fast acting protein in itself so unless you are looking for the absolute fastest, Optimum is also a good choice post workout. It depends on your needs and budget.

Should I really consider buying ON 100% CASEIN for before bed? Or is casein really optional depending on how much protein I take during day?

I take 1 scoop of ON 100% Whey mixed with breakfast and 1 scoop of ON 100% Whey post-workout.

I have this same question, if i am using MyoFusion for my protein do I need a Casein or will I be ok with just my protein or perhaps milk as milk has a lot of casein does it not?

It would never hurt to try a new protein powder to see how you react to that one, it may turn out to work even better for you then Muscle Tech. I'd also suggest Myofusion as I've yet to really see any negative feedback on it. :-)

100% Gold whey is a great protein powder....but if you want the best, go with their Pro Complex protein powder. It's a blend of proteins with a great amino acid profile as well as vitamins and minerals too. I have been using it for about 10 years now and I have tried others (Muscletech, BSN, etc.) but they don't quite compare......check out bestpricenutrition (dot) com for best price on Pro Complex.

MuscleFeast.com whey protein isolate is by far the best. Why?
1) All whey isolates sold in the US come from about 5 different manufacturers
2) Their protein comes from one of these five companies and is the best of the 5, same stuff ON uses
3) It is unflavored, so you are actually just buying isolate with no fillers, flavoring, or artificial sweeteners
4) You can currently get 5lbs for only $31.99
5) Enough said

I've used two brands of whey protein. GNC and ON 100% Whey.

I can say this much:

The GNC brand tasted awful and didn't mix worth a damn. I know protein shakes aren't the best thing, but this stuff almost made me gag. This was in chocolate, also.

The plus of it was I almost never got sore from working out. I'm talking little to no soreness. I 'feel' like this stuff must have been doing a good job, but I have no scientific research on that, of course.

The ON 100% Whey tasted 5x better, mixed 90% better, so I stuck with it. One thing, though, I started getting sore after workouts like normal.

Anyone know what this means?

AND WHOA, I don't come here for a year, and BAM, my rep is negative? I left on green?!

What should i be looking for in a good protein powder? I'm trying to lose weight and gain muscle at the same time. So i would think one with a low calorie would be ideal? maybe im wrong. I am new to the gym. and Only have been going for around 2 month's. I've doubled all my weight's in the 2 month's and also lost 29lbs. I've been using some pretty cheap "sixstarr" muscle whey protein from wal-mart, only 26.99$ for i think 600g. Should i keep with it or should i find a better/different one. It has about 170 calorie's per scoop i do believe.

You don't need to eat 1g/lb of protein powder, because you also eat food which has lots of protein in it.

So:

food protein + little extra whey protein = total 1g/lb protein per day

My Goal is NOT to make it to Competition in Bodybuilding, but to keep my weight and get more athletically stronger / ripped etc. So I am not interested in puting on mass .. more building pure muscle and obviously keeping BF % Low.

The taste of ON Whey is better because there is a lot of flavors and they're all great. Performance wise AST VP2 is better. I tried and I can guarantee you it works better, but not that much significantly better. It's not like it's two times stronger than ONWhey. I would say it's like 30 percent better

What do you guys think of USN Pure Protien? It has 40g of protien per serving, i've gone through a few tubs, seems to be working OK for me. Although I have no reference - The only proteins i've used are LA and this USN.
Think I might give ONs 100% a try next.

USN-1GF1 Pure Protein is fantastic. It's also reasonably priced for what you get and contains vitamins and magnesium. I went through 1kg in 2 weeks. Tastes good and works. I have not seen better.

Whey concentrate and isolate, micellar casein, calcium caseinate, egg albumen, soy protein, L-Glutamine, enzymes + vitamins, MCTs.

If you want a straight shake from a reputable company that is not trying to make profit from you try this.

Here is the info.

USN’s Pure Protein is a complete engineered protein blend consisting of a precise mixture of whey protein isolate, whey protein concentrate, calcium caseinate, egg albumen and soy protein isolate. USN’s Pure Protein is a complete engineered protein blend consisting of a precise mixture of whey protein isolate, whey protein concentrate, calcium caseinate, egg albumen and soy protein isolate. Protein is the structural core of the human body and is at work in every single cell. Protein performs many essential functions in the body. It is required for growth and repair of tissues and aids in the transportation of nutrients, oxygen and nitrogen. The core benefits of Pure Protein IGF-1:

• 40g of STS (Sustained Transport System) protein consisting of Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) & Concentrate Blend, Micellar Casein, Calcium Caseinate, Egg Albumin & Soy Protein Isolate

• Contains ZymaTech Multiple Enzyme Technology (including Lactase Enzymes & Fibre) for optimal protein digestion & amino acid uptake

• Fortified with L-glutamine for nitrogen transport & muscle recovery

• Extremely low in Carbs & contains a complete vitamin & mineral blend

Any individual wanting to add additional protein, vitamins and minerals to his or her diet should use USN's Pure Protein IGF-1. Competitive athletes also wanting to achieve an edge by either building muscle or increasing performance fast will find this an invaluable supplement.

Hey all! I just started to workout about 1 month ago. I bought the 1.22 lb of Amp Wheybolic Extreme 60 from GNC. I exercise about 1 hr 3 times a week. I know it comes in a few different flavors and I picked up Strawberry, even though I found out its a little too sweet!

Anyways the recommendations on the bag say take 3 scoops every time after working out. I take about 1 and 1/2 every time after I workout. It does the job and cuts down on the calories a little (280 cal for 3 scoops).

I was curious if anyone else has taken this product and/or could anybody recommend something else? I have experienced a bit of weight loss, about 5 pounds so far....

Again always happy to hear more feedback...

Beverly International's Ultimate Muscle Protein. I can definitely tell a difference from any other protein product...better results due to higher bioavailability of the protein. I own a fitness center, and even though there are brands that I could make a much larger profit margin retailing, BI is the only brand I'll sell. I trust their entire line of products.

I used to like ON 100 but started taking "Dymatize Elite Whey Protein Isolate". Got it here at bb.com 10 lbs for just $65. Whats nice is it's a whey protein Isolate so it has more protein that's easier to digest.

They also add lactase and some other digestive enzymes supposedly to make it digest faster. I've only been using it for a couple days but it sounds really good and is cheaper than ON 100%

Anyone else using dymatize Elite whey?

I had tried Myofusion Banana and Vanilla which led me to believe that the other flavour would be good.

Unfortunately, I am very disappointed in the Strawberry (tastes medicinal), The Chocolate (mixes poorly not a great chocolate taste) and the Peanut Butter/Chocolate doesn't taste good at all. Shame.

not to be a pain in the ass but "great for adding size"..... its just calories man. you could take 20 scoops of ON whey a day but if u aren't hitting caloric excess ur not gonna put any size on at all... its not like a magic substance

Best Protein Powder For Gaining Muscle??

-------------------------------------------------------------

If you had to pick just ONE protein powder for gaining muscle, what would be the best one for the best results?

Please pick product and include the brand. Give your reasons. The best answers will be displayed on the main Bodybuilding.com site for millions of people to see!

(Note: This is not a discussion about how or when to take protein, if protein works, or why some protein powders do not work. Just list your absolute favorite protein powder and give your detailed reason.)

ON 100% whey= my personal favorite. i know that it is low on calories, but i make a homemade protein shake with this, peanut butter, and milk, and it is great and boosts the calories up alot.
ISOPURE= probably the best protein supplement on the market in terms of effectiveness(based on my and alot of guys who i train with) but it tastes like dookie. i have to stick a cork in my mouth to stop myself from hurling.

I guess i don't fully understand what makes one protein better than the other. Isn't protein....well protein? I'm currently, and have been for 2yrs, using this Six Star protein mix from walmart because i'm cheap like that; although, i recently ran the numbers and figured that for about an extra $6 at the currently sale price i can get one of the "best" protein powders, Optimim, and if it truly is that much better i might as well spend the money.

Overall, i was completely satisfied with my build and still am; however, around march-may i stopped lifting due to finals and other school stuff + work that took up my time and i lost a bit of mass. Top that with a recent 10lb loss in 2 weeks due to a prolong breakup with my girlfriend and major anxiety, i'm not the size i was(although much more tone!). I'm looking to quickly get my build back up and if ON protein is that much better, i'll do it. I need to be convinced though because it just doesn't make sense to me.

Nutrition content of what i currently take(IDK if FDA approved):
Calories 150
(from fat 15)

Total Fat 1.5g
(saturated fat 1g)

Cholesterol 70mg
(dietary fiber .5g)
(Sugars 3g)

Protein 26g
Calcium 110mg
iron .2mg
Sodium 70mg(isn't sodium and cholesterol the same thing?)

Also contains AMINO-SYN Musclebuilding Blend 3,512 mg of:
Creatine monohydrate
Taurine
L-glutamine
Oleic acid
MCTs(meduim chain triglycerides)
L-cysteine
L-histidine
L-proline
L-leucine
L-valine
L-isoleucine
L-arginine pyroglutamate
Inositol
L-ornithine alpha-ketoglutarate
L-tyrosine
L-lysine HCL
L-threonine
L-phenylalanine
L-methionine

The individual numbers are not listed, just the grand total of 3,512mg per container. Besides the non listed values of the random crap at the bottom, the only difference i can see between this and Optimum, besides price, is 20 more calories in Six Star, .5g more sat fat, 40mg more cholesterol(whoopidy doo to the previous), and 2 more grams of protein(isnt this the purpose of the powder?).

EDIT: Instead of awaiting a reply because i'm impatient, i went ahead and ordered the 5lb french vanilla creme tub. Found a good deal on it for $40 w/ 2 day shipping, so that took care of the $6 price difference between the two.

With that said, i would still like to know the diffrence in case i'm not lucky enough to find this deal again or whatnot.

CNP Pro Peptide is the best in my opinion. If I have 2 servings per day with food and 2 Pro MR instead of meals and 2-3 regular high protein, low GI meals, I can feel my strength and size improving daily.

I have a very fast metabolism and with normal whey protein powders I feel as though they only keep me anabolic for about 45 minutes.

The bodybuilders I know use isopure. You really can't argue it. It's the best quality protein, virtually fat and carb free, with no bs.

I have myofusion, huge gaspari fan, and I'm on my third tub - but only because I like the fact it's a blend - I can't stomach casein so it gives me some slower digestion. Everyone saying how great the taste is are pretty much nuts, because it does not taste good. It's not bad, but by no means good.

ON - can't go wrong. For most of my friends or people I train i'll recommend it. For the price it's difficult to beat. Full AA profile, lots of glutamine, minimal excess and very cheap compared to the "designer" stuff (like isopure)

Muscle Milk - I use it as a psuedo weight gainer, or if I need some extra calories here or there, otherwise a pretty terrible protein.

I mean really, if it's a whey protein isolate - doesn't have carbs or fat, has a good AA profile, meets label claims, and you enjoy the way it tastes - there is no "better" one way or the other, don't get bent out of shape about it.

This is why i'm on my 5th or so 10lb tub of isopure now. Just seems logical to me.

One thing I can say is that if you're looking for lean mass, a more caloric shake may be better...not necessarily a weight gainer.

Myofusion is nearly 160 cals per scoop, 25g protein, and great taste.

If you're looking for an isolate source Ultra Iso Whey by Universal is not to bad, protein is kind of low though. Good to eliminate trace fats/carbs basically.

I've tried many flavors, and brands, i'll post a huge review of them at the end of this calendar year cause I got some more coming.

Product Info
Long considered the standard for serious athletes, bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts, whey protein helps sustain a lean, strong and well-defined physique. With Infinite Pro™, you'll get a fast-acting, delicious whey protein drink that excites your taste buds and gets into your muscles fast for optimal growth and recovery. Plus, Infinite Pro™ gives you more of what you want – pure, fast-acting whey protein – and less of what you don’t want – fat, saturated fat and carbohydrates.

Whey protein contains the highest level of branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) of any known natural food source. BCAAs, unlike other amino acids, get metabolized directly into muscle tissue and are the first ones used during periods of exercise and resistance training. Infinite Pro™ provides the body with BCAAs to replenish depleted levels and start repairing and rebuilding lean muscle tissue. Infinite Pro™ is also an excellent source of the essential amino acid leucine which initiates protein synthesis and muscle growth within the body.

By increasing the levels of glutathione in the body, Infinite Pro™ helps maintain a healthy immune system. Glutathione, an anti-oxidant, is required for a healthy immune system. Infinite Pro™ helps keep you healthy and strong so you can perform at your best.

Achieving and maintaining a healthy weight can add years to your life. You burn more calories after a protein meal because the body requires more energy to digest protein than other foods. With little to no fats and carbohydrates, Infinite Pro™ is the perfect complement to any diet program. Plus, Infinite Pro™ helps reduce hunger by lowering insulin levels and making it easier for your body to burn fat.

Infinite Pro™ 100% Whey is effective in:
• Repairing and rebuilding muscle
• Increasing amino delivery
• Speeding recovery
• Supporting a healthy immune system

Science Behind
With 25 grams of high quality protein in each serving, you’ll get enough protein in each great tasting shake to feed your muscles for maximum lean muscle development. Infinite Pro™ supports a strong and muscular body even if you don’t train. Feed the immediate anabolic repair your body requires with Infinite Pro™.

Infinite Pro™ 100% Whey's Key Ingredients:
• Whey Protein Concentrate
• Whey Protein Isolate

Whey Protein Concentrate
An excellent source for BCAAs, whey protein concentrate is 70-80% protein. The high amount of BCAAs in whey protein concentrate have been credited with protecting lean muscle, delaying the onset of fatigue and providing energy directly to muscle tissues.

Whey Protein Isolate
Loaded with important microfractions (like lactalbumin, lactoferrin, and glycomacropeptides), whey protein isolates pack a powerful punch in terms of biological value (the measure of protein quality and how efficiently the body is able to utilize it). Approaching the 170 mark, whey protein isolates have been shown to help regulate appetite, provide immune system support and fuel your muscles. As the purest form of whey protein available, whey protein isolates are unsurpassed as a source for essential amino acids.

Supplement Facts
Suggested Use: Mix 1 serving (1 scoop) of Infinite Pro™ 100% Whey with 8 to 10 oz. of cold water or skim milk. Mix well. Consume immediately. Take 3 to 4 servings of Infinite Pro™ daily for best results.

FAQs
1. Who can use Infinite Pro™?
Infinite Pro™ 100% Whey is intended for use by healthy men and women who regularly engage in resistance exercise or endurance training and are following a calorically-appropriate, nutritionally-adequate diet. But even if you don’t train, you can benefit from using Infinite Pro™ 100% Whey since high-quality protein is essential to everyone’s diet.

2. How long will it take for Infinite Pro™ to work?
The ingredients found in Infinite Pro™ begin working the moment they are absorbed by the body. Both whey concentrate and whey isolate are fast-acting proteins which means they’ll begin working within minutes of drinking a serving of Infinite Pro™.

3. How do you suggest I use Infinite Pro™?
Our customers seem to find the best results when using Infinite Pro™ as follows: as a dietary supplement, mix 1 serving (1 scoop) with 8 to 10 oz. of cold water or skim milk. Mix well. Consume immediately.

Following exercise, consume 1 serving of Infinite Pro™ within 30 to 60 minutes to quickly replenish your body and maintain a muscle building state.

immediatly after working out, roughly one to two scoops depending on how much i felt i worked out. comes out to roughly 45 g of protein i believe...i haven't used Optimum 100% though in a month because i switched to my bulking routine for the winter in which i use Optimum 100% Serious Mass which goes one scoop for 50g of protein, but alot of carbs which get the metabolism rollin like its 1999.

If you answer ON for any of THE BEST except maybe for best VALUE, it probably means you haven't tried enough different powders to gauge from. I'd say Beverly International's Muscle Provider or ErgoPharm's GF-Pro.. although the later has been discontinued. Seriously though, don't just stick with ON and never try anything else. I think after people try a few other brand they'll realize that ON is very average on taste and profile values... try Xtreme Formulations or Myofusion or any other of the million supplement brands out there. I've probably tried about 30-40 different powders, and ON is NOT near the top - on taste or quality.

I drink 3 shakes a day, once with breakfast to get my body going, once right after my workout, and then a Optimum's Casein protein before I go to sleep. It's a great amount for the price and the quality of it... really anything from optimum is top of the line.

I've been taking GNC's wheybolic extreme 60 because of it's amino acid complex. In everything I've read, GNC is barely acknowledged as having a top protein.

during the last month, I've been using:

ON's gold standard 100% EGG for a morning shake + GNC's wheybolic extreme 60 after training + 100% Casein at night while sleeping.

should I switch my post workout protein? Any advice about ON's hydro Whey?

They are all just whey afterall, just that some may contain slightly more fat/carb and some contain slightly less. As long as you have a good diet, workout program, and actually worked hard, different whey proteins won't give you a significant edge. Just not buying bad quality one's!!!

This is probably the best post in this thread. As long as you're buying good quality protein, there is little difference. Protein shakes alone won't give you results you're looking for. Your overall diet and effort put in is the real reason for gains. Changing between quality protein powders and noticing significant gains is a placebo.

The best protein for gaining muscle is always a high quality protein blend which contains Highest quality "un-denatured" High Fraction (CFM) Whey protein Isolate and concentrates, Milk Protein Isolate (Miceller Casein) and Egg Albumin.

My favorites are Beverly Muscle Provider and Propeptide by DYA.

It's laughable that many believe ON 100% Whey comes in the same class which doesn't come even close by any stretch of imagination.

Which protein from Beverly is better, the muscle provider or U.M.P?

Best Protein Powder For Gaining Muscle??

I am a fan of Syntha 6, It seems to work for me. We'll let you know in about 6 weeks

I also like Syntha6 a ton. After years of slugging different shakes that all end up being so gross, I finally decided that even though Syntha 6 is on the expensive end of the protein world--it's worth it.

Also worth noting is Muscle Milk strawberry. Everyone takes different protein for different reasons, but at least most anyone can drink Muscle Milk without gagging...

im going to say that nature's best isopure is my best. I've tried musclemilk(had good gain, but had canola oil in it so im not using. also alot of sugar), body fortress(stopped using due to alot of taurine and sugar), gnc, and bsn. I've only been using it for a week and im noticing my recovery time is cut alot. I'm also not as sore as usual from a hard workout. It also has 50g of protein per serving(2 scoops), no sugar, no fat or low fat(depending on what you get), alot of vitamins and minerals, 220 calories per serving. Also the taste is pretty good for no sugar, mixes well without a blender(i use blender ball bottle), tastes good with water(if your watching fat and carbs), and i get it for $68.95(7.5lbs), and usually it's over 100$(not wanting to spam so if you want to know where i get it PM me or somethin).

People consider Dymatize Elite Casein a better formula over ON 100% Casein? Looks pretty similar, however the Dymatize has a much higher concentration amino acids/serving.

Hi guys!

I have been using MultiPro Whey by IDS for a couple of years now and love it! But I got curious about the ingredients today and discovered that it contains Sucralose.

I really could care less about taste and need to switch protein powders. What are your recommendations for powders with low sat fat, no processed sugar, no stevia, no aspartame, no Sucralose, and no artificial colors.

The best one that I could find that looks good is this: NOW Pea Protein Unflavored 2 lbs

Tell me what you think

Best Protein Powder For Gaining Muscle??

-------------------------------------------------------------

If you had to pick just ONE protein powder for gaining muscle, what would be the best one for the best results?

Please pick product and include the brand. Give your reasons. The best answers will be displayed on the main Bodybuilding.com site for millions of people to see!

(Note: This is not a discussion about how or when to take protein, if protein works, or why some protein powders do not work. Just list your absolute favorite protein powder and give your detailed reason.)

I take Basic trainein. It is a great protein powder becuase its not just protein, its like a meal. With everything it has it is absolutley geared toward what protein is meant to do and that is heal you. It doesn't have low amounts of Vitamins and minerals like most products 25mg ect.. It has generous doses. The flavor goes with anything so I can change it any time I want to. It has Glutamine and large amounts of Leucine, isoleucine and valine and very low in sugar so I can sweeten it the way I want. I feel satisfied after a drink it and I'm not running to eat an hour later or going to the bathroom. I love healthy products and this definitely one of them. I heal a day or two faster then I was on other proteins. I will buy it again.

The reason why its important to take some kind of slow digested protein at night is so you don't go into a catabolic state. That where your body takes the nutrients it needs to function from your muscles. Bad thing is its a milk derived protein and raises homocystein levels in the blood, that leads to plaque in the arteries. try a low sugar yogurt. Its still milk but will be better for you..

I'm not sure about what you heard but, Stevia is a natural sweetener with no known side affects or glycemic affect in the body. I don't take any fake sugars at all. Try basic trainein. You get 1311 grams in a bottle a 3rd more than other products and everything else you need to heal... check it out..

People consider Dymatize Elite Casein a better formula over ON 100% Casein? Looks pretty similar, however the Dymatize has a much higher concentration amino acids/serving.

I have a 5 pounder of stawberry Dymatize Elite Casein, It does have a decent about of ammo acids in there but it doesn't say how much glutimine it has. It mixes very crappy unless you use a legit blender, I've tried it in milk, which is by far the hardest to mix into because I believe it is a milk based protein with the casein in it, I tried cranberry juice and I usually do it with water and taste is ok, overall it just doesn't mix well in anything at least with strawberry were it is always clumpy and choke like... Cranberry juice is good with it but really its not all supposed to be about taste as they say usually the least best tasting proteins are better for you, but really all in all, Protein is essentially protein.

I don't get how people will claim the best tasting is the best. It really isn't you gotta understand when companies are out there making protein, They always think about how good it tastes first and add all the "good tasting" ingredients in there to make it that way.

I do like ON 100% whey. it mixes well but I don't believe it is is the best but it is one of the best tasting, best mixing and best priced ones with 4grams of glutamine in it which not a lot but decent. Generally all this extra stuff they put in proteins besides the time releasing casein just really doesn't do anything.

I listen to IBBF bodybuilders over any of these kids who disagree. The extra amino acids can help yea of course, but marginal. Hell if you are down on cash even the ****ty $15 jug of walmart whey will work, It won't prob give you the best taste or mix and all the amino acids+ extras you want but it gives you protein and in bodybuilding it is what you need and you honestly won't notice a difference. The extra stuff can just be a plus to like leaner mass and of course time releasing. I have heard good things about IDS because I suppose it has more precursors in it but I haven't tried it yet but like I mentioned above hell even most IBBF pros will always tell you protein is protein all the other stuff is just an added stuff that will see minimal gains from it, but I always say it doesn't hurt to have it either.

but overall, a lot of it can be just market hype and sites as well as stores will always boost what product they have that has the better mark up. It is just how it is. I like 100% ON because of the taste and mix and I pay 46 bucks for a 5pounder. Eventho your supposed to down it all at once you still want a decent taste of course and I don't chose it because of the hype I chose it because of all the above and it is much leaner then a lot of proteins out there, IDS is supposed to be leaner.
