I've had this thing developing in my middle delt, kind of like a ropey strand. It is kind of painful to the touch. Pain also seems to derive from the bursa under the middle delt, though it could be the muscle itself. It feels kind of rubbery, unlike the rest of the muscle, right where the delt starts clearing the humerus. It seems like it's trying to develop another one of these ropes along another line of striation. I read that this ropeyness is a tell-tale sign of a shortened muscle. I started doing this stretching routine to try and correct the problem but now it is more painful. I was doing deltoid stretches, anchoring my hand on a doorsill, and I may have overdone it, though it wasn't ever overlay painful when I was actually doing it. If anything, it was progressively strained somehow. Now, pain derives from a bit further down the muscle, the body of the muscle, I guess.
I'm not sure if I have strained the muscle or something else. The thing is that I've given it about 10 days rest so far and it still has not started feeling better. It seems to be kind of a problem. I've read that it is good to keep the tissue active as soon as the acute phase is over, so I tried range of motion exercises, which only seemed to exacerbate it. It has been 10 days now and it does not really feel any better. Not sure what is going on.
