I had similar problem with elbows. I was told that certain people (more often women) can be double jointed. If you suspect this, do your curls with your elbows forward of your side slightly. Still keep your upper arms still, and use biceps, not back, but just keeping your elbows forward of your body.

I don't know if this was a question or a suggestion for the members. People don't usually post a suggestion...lol...

One thing though there is no such thing as "double jointed" :D

Actually, it was a mistake (which I realized immediately after I posted), it was intended as an answer to another post, but I didn't do it properly. Beg forgiveness!!!

I don't specifically know about the double-jointed, but was told this by a trainer (actually, a very good one). He may have used this language to simplify the explanation for me, but all I know is that his suggestions for doing curls has greatly helped me avoid pain in my elbows (a chronic problem I have).

To avoid spreading "misleading" information, though I should clarify.

Dictionary definition of "double-jointed" Having unusually flexible joints that can bend in unusual ways. The term is a little misleading. People who can do strange things with their body parts don't necessarily have extra joints, but rather joints which rotate or allow movement which is more extreme than most people can manage.
