DE squat
185 low box 8x2, no chains.
Deadlifts 315 3x3
SLDLs 225 10x4
Shrugs 245 8x3
Side bends, 10 reps of 55, 60, 65, 70 lb dumbells.
The DE feels soooo fast w/o chains. I really need to get bands or start increasing the raw weight. It's too fast at the top totally raw, the bar has a tendancy to catch a little air. Heavy deads afterwards feel great, I can do 315 fairly fast. Haven't done the side bends in a while, had to feel 'em out. :D

try doing squats with heavy band tension and then take them off and do the same weight. I did it, and once i got out of t he hole, my momentum carried me to lockout.
I wouldnt recommend doing that though, as you could injure yourself.
For the SLDL are they just where you bend over or more romanian where you push your hips back?

i think that's the danger from working too much with bands.
you might develop a lockout that's too strong. also I believe bands is geared more towards equipped lifters, since it simulates shirt and suit work IMO
it's like the thightness makes it easier out of the bottom, and at the end it's all you, where obviously it gets a lot harder.
that's only my opinion, and i do not know if i'm even getting the point here :D

yeah my partners have bands, but we haven't used them (with me) in training yet. I've got the hang of light chains, but i need more chains & to incorporate the bands...
Witht the SLDLs. I do them romanian style. Keeping the bar close to my body, I go down to just below knee level, then thrust forward at the hips.

Well you're exactly right, IMO, and that's why I want to start using bands! (as well all should, except raw lifters).
The chains have a constant weight increase, but the bands have exponentially higher resistence the more they're stretched out.
It's just like bench. The suit helps you out of the hole, DE work gives you acceleration (and more muscle recruitment/CNS training of course), and you need a strong lockout to finish.
Put it this way; I can't get 315 to // in my Z.
Hayward can't get 405 to // in either his BOSS suit OR BOSS briefs. He has yet to try them together. That's 4 layers of NGX poly - good for a 600 lb squat @ 165 in Finland later this month!
I'm sticking to single poly right now, as I'm still learning form, as well as increasing my absolute strength. Later I'll start incorportating more advanced gear. I don't think I could use a BOSS right now, as I've only done walkouts with 500, I haven't even quarter squatted that.
