It's that time boys and girls, Rob's gonna cut, actually I started Friday.
Here's the tale of the tape, err scale. I'm 259 lbs and 19.6% BF looking for 230ish and somewhere between 12 and 15%. I'm not looking for the Mr. Ripped look, I'd like to see the abs again for the summer :D and so would M. I will be using CKD for this cut and anyone else that has something to add into the mix feel free to add anything.
The calories will be 13x bodyweight with 260g protien 250 grams of fat and less than 20g carbs coming in between 3300 and 3500 cal'day.

I won't be listing daily foods, I will do some workout stuff in here though, too much with helping M with her thesis.

Where I went wrong, listen up folks, not too many times you'll hear me in the confessional! Cheat meals went from 1 a week to 2-3 a week to "Hey, I'm bulking pass that pizza over here." I don't drink, probably won't ever again, not even socially after my last episode I made a promise to M and myself to never do it again.

Foods, I'm going to stick to high fat, virtually no carbs for 5 days then a carb up at 800g to start with and I'll adjust from there. The food s will consist of chicken, duck, pheasant, quail, buffalo, tilapia (maybe, M hounds me about fish), venison and shrimp. . When you hear me talk about hamburger it's a combination of buffalo and venison. I already harvested 23 deer this year and what I don't use gets donated to needy families in the county in which I live. I freeze about 1500 lbs of venison per year for use during the year. The other meats are those that I kill, ducks, quail and pheasant. The chicken is what I raise that aren't laying hens, even then when they outlive their jobs, well they become the roaster. I also use a fair amount os smoked almods as well for some more fat. I use sesame, olive and coconut oils for good fats.

Supplements.

fish oil
multi
COQ10 for bp
Hawhorne berries for BP
Celery seed for BP
Whey and Vitargo PWO
I may throw some forskolin into the mix mid way if I can find i in bulk.I have a lead, we'll see.

Workouts

Monday chest and triceps

dumbell flat bench
incline db bench
decline BB bench
flat BB bench
push downs
dips
pushdowns
skull crushers
CG Bench

The triceps exercises will rotate every few weeks, 2 of them.

Tuesday
cardio, 1-1.5 hours depending on how I feel

Wednesday back and biceps

pull ups
chins
low rows
close grip pull downs
bent rows
dumbell rows
Scott curls
EZ bar curls
hammer curls
alternating db curls
These too will rotate in and out, Scotts are the staple right now until I stop growing from them.

Thursday legs

squats
leg press
step ups with dumbells
lunges
SLDL's
hypers

Friday shoulders sometimes triceps

military press
db military
rear lateral raises
tricep bar presses
shrugs
upright rows

Triceps will rotate in there when I feel like they could use a second hit in the week, hasn't happened in a while, usually I'm fried by friday

Saturday REST AND CARBS OH DELICIOUS CARBS!! :D GIMME PASTA, GIMME RICE, GIMME ANYTHING THAT DOESN'T HAVE FAT !!!!!!!

Sunday clean up day abs, forearms and calves and cardio
wrist curls
behind the back wrist curls
leg press calf raises
leg raises
crunches with 45 lb plate(s)
Cardio 45 mins to start, may ramp up at sometime, I'm going to take it easy on the cardio unless my BP acts up. I've been at the 2 hour mark with no issues so far so we'll keep it clean

I've heard of Indian Burns, but Indian Cuts? :D Looks pretty good, Rob. No deadlifts on back day? If your lower back just won't take 'em, how about some Good Mornings instead? I take it you're not going to do ALL of those tri exercises in one sitting, but rotate a couple of them in and out every week, correct? The buffalo/venison combo is a very good one. Nice, lean protein with a good EFA content to it. I'd say you're off to a damn good start, amigo!

Hey cutie! :) I know you'll do great! I think cheat meal confessionals are a good idea. I need someone to report to at the end of every day that hands out exercise equivalents of "Hail Mary's." Hey Big Greenfeather,

Sounds like a very good and well-thought-out plan, to me. Venison and Buffalo sounds tasty and high protein, low fat.

Contrary to Bats, I know how to cook Buffalo. I just don't know how to skin 'em :p

Best GF. I expect to see those Indian Abs by late Spring :)

Yesterday- 1 hour on the bike, I got it back last weeks for the 5th time for a rear axle. The company is going to comp me a set of new rims next week since I haven't gone to the attorney generals office. I love the bike, there's some issue with misalignment in the rear axle. I know I'm strong, but not that damned strong!
Today- back and bis
wg pull ups- 4 sets
chins- 3 sets
bent rows-3 sets
low rows- 4 sets
scotts- 3 sets
hammer curls- 3 sets
ez curls- 2 sets

I'm finding that 8 sets for biceps and between 12- 14 for my back, I don't respond to low volume in any way, shape form or fashion. For me it's all about the extra time under tension. Plus, only hitting them once a week allows me to beat them down and letem grow! I do change up the rep scheme every 2 weeks going from 6-8 to 10-12 and then 4-6, kind of a periodization scheme that I've been working on with the guys at university. There are some freakin' monsters up there, I mean freaky big, they call one of them Juice, I don't have any idea why.

Jag, I do the deads on leg day, I'm a glutton for punishment and I only do 2 very heavy sets of 4 reps. The last workout was 495 for 4x2. My back is very strong, but also touchy as hell. I do 1 warm up and these are always at the end of the workout so I'm good and warmed up. I do also rotate 2 or 3 of the tricep exercises in at a time depending upon how I feel after chest, usually 2 will suffice, lol! :D

Diet has been stellar the last 4 days, cals good and hunger is not unmanageable but there none to less. I'm in full blown ketosis so I'm in a writing mood, I'm more clear headed when in ketosis. This is a good thing since I'm helping M to write her thesis. I though Marine Biology was boring as hell, but vet science sucks, I means really sucks. I'm also cobbling together the rest of my dissertation so I can turn it in in January or February and then I'll have to defend my findings, I shouldn't have any issues since there is no special interests funding my study, all of the money came out of my pocket.

Mark, pat the buffalo dry and coat it with olive oil to keep it moist, works wel with roasts and if you use ground add some olive oil to that as well, 2 tbsp/lb is what I do. For those of you that have never cooked it, don't try to cook the red out, you burn the hell out of it. Same thing above applys to venison and low and slow is how it should be cooked.

Happy hump day y'all! I already did! :D

Good luck Greenfeather! I'll be following your progress as it's a different method than I've used before, but as we all know, there's more than one way to skin a cat!

Plus, it's fun to follow cuts while your stuffing as much food as humanly possible down your choke-hole!!:D

This afternoon M took a nasty fall, the deck she was on collapsed and she went for a ride, 20 feet to the ground. She's OK, I on the other hand am a nervous wreck!! She got a nasty shot to the side of the head and eye and a lovely hemaoma on her thigh along with whiplash. I have some pics here, you'll love them. Looks like I worked her over pretty good, but she looks too damned good to quote Harry Callahan.

My diet is on track no lifting today, I'll hit some legs tomorrow and shoulders Saturday and might skip Sunday if M needs my help. She's gonna be a hurtin' pup the next few days and I might need to help the old grey squaw out.

I came home early and hit the legs, I wasn't in a shoulder place today. I distintly remember the words, "Fight and run away, live to fight another day".

Legs-
Squats 4x20
Leg press 5x10
SLDL- 2X15
HYPERS-2X15
DEADS- 2X4 1x10

Short, sweet and intense, I'm so pissed off that legs was a good choice so I'm whipped right now! I'll hit shoulders tomorrow when M and I get back from PT. I'll be doing some of her PT at home to keep her going, she's hurting today pretty bad, I gave her a shot of morphine last night to help her out. My stash is getting thin, I need to source up some new stuff. Plus mine is getting a tad long in the tooth, 20 some odd years old, LOL! :D

Diet is a tad off, cals are way low today. I got most of the protiein, 150g fat. Making a nice T-bone for dinner, so it'll all be good. I guess you could say I was saving up for dinner.

Shoulders today, weights sucked, workout sucked, still wasn't in a shoulders place, M's having issues with this fall and it's destroying my concentration. I lightened the weights up and supersetted the workout. Diet is still low, when stressed my appetite shuts off. Tomorrow is another day, I'm sleeping in and doing jack **** tomorrow other than trying to get some rest.

Military press- 3x12
supesetted with
rear lat raises on the 45 degree bench 3x10

Shrugs 4x10, these were the only thing I did well, go figure
supersetted with
tricep bar presses 3x8, these in conjunction with the shrugs WILL do in your traps, even if they weren't being supersetted with anything.

35 minutes on the stepper.

Her shoulder is giving her a fit. Luckily I know a good ortho that I called yesterday and he is going to take a look at her on monday he is also a former Navy SEAL so I know my wife is in good hands. It's making a clicking and grinding noise when I listened to it with the stethescope, not good. They eye is in chamaeleon mode right now, went from red to prule, now it's black.

Have a good weekend all!

Chest today, concentration just wasn't there with M being out of comission. Not having a spotter really sucks, I can empathise with y'all that don't have a partner.

DBBP- 4X6
BBBP- 4X6
IBP- 2X6
DIPS- 4X10 BW only
Pushdowns-3X10

My shoulder is still acting up on the inclines, even moved them to the end and they still give my shoulder a fit so they're getting the axe for the next month. Maybe M's PT can help me figure my issues out as well. It's definitely not an issue of being warmed up.

I stopped incline bb presses months ago because they aggravated my rotator more than any other exercise. As an alternative, I switched to DB incline presses and incorporated a twist to the inside at the top of the movement to help isolate the pecs.

Hang in there Rob!

Just a little confused Rob. Might be one of my pre sobriety flashbacks or just my odd view of reality. I just saw a vision of Greenfeather, an Indian warrior...50/50 Cree/Maori mix raced. He is sitting in front of a squat rack wearing an All Blacks vs. British and Irish Lions tee shirt and preparing an old Cree recepie for Pemmican made with buffalo marrow, pine nuts and Kiwi fruit. He also wears a Ta Moko on his chin and is chanting to both Te Reo and the Great Spirit. Am I getting close? Or, is it nap time for me at the "home"?

Nope, pretty damned close. Sweat lodge this weekend to get recentered, I'm in desperate need of recentering.

They did hand the Brits their asses on a platter yesterday.:D I just wish my brothers from Tonga could have done in the French soccer team. They did OK in the first 1/2, but they got their asses handed to them in the second half. I stopped watching after they scored the 6th try.

If I make it through this with my sanity intact, it'll be a friggin' miracle, I might take a hit off the morphin pin tonight, you'll see why !

LEGS - SQUATS- 4X15 Someday, you da man!! I'm feeling the wide stance, ATG New PB 365 lbs.
SLDL- 2X15

Chris, those are DB inclines, they're getting the axe for a few weeks. I'm getting too old to be fighting with them. I even tried dropping the weight and upping reps with the same result, PAIN!!

MOM, if he doesn't get one, he's welcome to come here and get as many as he wants. We have crop damage permits for 143 this year. I doubt we'll get that many, but you never know. All in all a damned fine workout, bench was down a little today, but I'm on the last of a 12 day. When I say a 12, 13, 14, or a 15, those are calories per lb. I'm going to start cycling the calories to keep my body guessing. It worked last time, should work again. I'll be on 2 15's tomorrow and wednesday.

M is doing good, she's doing quads, hams and calves rotating with them. I fashioned a ruck for her to be able to do hyperextensions and SLDL's. The down side is the insurance company is trying to screw us. I'm getting dangerously close to seeking legal counsel. I don't want anything other than her wages and all the medical bills taken care of. She's not seeking pain and suffering and they're trying to be cheap asses with the lost wages, we'll see what happens.

Thanks baldie, she put up with a hell of a lot out of me when we first met. When most women would have said screw this, M stuck by me while I was deployed. That was most of the first 3 years we dated. I did send her a plane ticket to come over to Thailand, I think she really liked that. I'd have loved to get her down to South America, but that place was kinda wild while I was there. It seems we fit together. She likes lifting, shooting, scuba diving and she'll even turn a wrench on her truck. She changes her own oil in the Samurai only leaving me to check and make sure everything is tight. I don't know where I'd be today if it wasn't for her!!

Tell them that you've changed your mind and want proper compensation for that, in addition to the lost wages and medical bill coverage. When they ask why, just tell them because it's warranted. I'll bet they'll want to start negotiating right away and you'll get what you're really after. ALWAYS file claim for pain and suffering with these insurance yahoo's, even if you don't really want it. It gives you a stronger negotiating point with them. They don't give a f*ck if you're a nice person and didn't ask for it just to be nice and make it easy for them. They just view that as yet MORE money they can screw you out of.

The flavour of the day is..... LEGS!!
SQUATS- 4 SETS 15, 14, 14, 13 I was feeling the lownessess of the carbs today. Next leg day will get some oat flour in the mid morning meal.
SLDL- 2X15
HYPEREXTENSIONS- 2X15
LEG PRESS- 4X10, 8, 8, 6 New weight withe this one, 550 on the vertical, I'm smoked!!

Thanks Steve, my legs are deceivng as hell. They're not that big, to me, but I can go like hell with the weight now that I've figured out my issue with squats. They're becoming a favorite right behind deads. You'll notice they were omitted this workout. When I leftt he shop yesterday I hauled ass to university to ask some questions and ride around campus. I was in the weightroom and decided that I'd do some super heavy deads. I started at 315 for 10, then I went up to 405 for 6, 495 for 4. I was nice and warm so I figured F it Im gonna see if I can pull 650. Juice, one of the trainers was watching and was there for encouragement this guy is one huge mofo, I mean he's a monster . I pulled it almost to full extension. I dropped back to 625 for a full rep. I love deads, of all the exercises, I love them best.

The other night while we were out we went to a local sub shop to get a greek salad, they make an awesome salad (you know how F**KING HARD IT WAS TO NOT ORDER AN ITALIAN COLD CUT WITH EVERYTHING, EXTRA HOTS? ). I exercised damned good self control, well, M threatened to kick my ass with her good arm, lol!! While we were there I ran into an old schoolmate that asked me if I was still ino lifting and asked if I'd like to try my hand at a power lifting meet. I think I'm gonna register for deads only, I'll get my ass handed to me in the bench. I asked why no squats and he didn't answer, I think I might do OK there too. I've never tried to see how heavy I can go, maybe 475-500, dunno.

Well, end of me blithering on and on watsting bandwidth. Tomorrow will be shoulders.

HAPPY HUMP DAY!!

Chi, there was no anger there, their Greek Salad is delight if you're on a keto diet!! Like I said earlier, if I'm not feeling like there's a hurl looming, I do one more set. The extra leg press weight did me in today, I'm smoked.

I registered today,I'm going to watch the strength and pick fittys brain when I get closer in. I want to diet down to below 240 so I can be in that weight class. I don't think that any of the guys I used to lift with are still at it. At my 20 year reunion I wasn't too fat and I was pushing 280 then, lol!! There's still the chance that there's a monster lurking here, I hope he stays the hell away!

Taking tonight off, gotta run M to her PT session and fix the broken truck before all hell breaks loose here this weekend. Looks like snow is looming for the weekend. I'll hit the stepper to get rid of some of this soreness. The more I walked today, the better the legs felt. I stretched out 3 or 4 times so that helped.

Delts today, did 30 min on the stepper last night.

MP- 4X8,7,6,6
DBMP- 3X8
TRICEP BAR PRESS- 3X10 I don't know where the hell the strength for these came from . I NEED CARBS !!!
SHRUGS- 375X3X8 These were last, I do the working sets in between the others. Then I do 4 sets of 225 front, drop it back on the pegs, turn around hit'em again, then do it one more time with no rest in between sets, they're nice for a good burn.
REAR LATS- 3X10
UPRIGHT ROWS- 3X10

Tomorrow is carb up day, no lifting as I'll be recharging the battery. Sunday I'll be doing arms, legs again on monday.

Jag, they changed their tune when I said the pain and suffering. M said the guy about **** himself when she said that. I can play hard ass if they want, I've got the royal flush sitting here and I'm grinnin' like a Cheshire cat. M doesn't want anything more than she's entitled to.

Y'all have a good weekend, dunno what we're doing tomorrow, but I have a broken truck that desperately needs to be fixed. I'll be laying out underneath that junk heap tomorrow.

Arms today-
Scott curls- 4x8
hammercurls-3x7 I use the tricep bar for these when I'm feeling lazy, lol.
EZcurl bars- 3x10 new PB with these today
Wrist curls- 4x15
Reverse wrist curls- 4x15

I'm getting the pieces together to make a killer wristmachine. I'm machining 2 pegged pieces with pillow blocks on them to fashion a sort of reel to reel up a plate. I saw one on a site for $200, but you know me, I can build it cheaper.
Fitty, I'm going to machine out 9" cylinders out of that armour plating I have. It'll take 4 or so weeks to get it back unless I get a break and get over there to do it myself. That mill is HYOOGE and EXPENSIVE!! I'll burn through 30" of steel with relative ease so I'm figuring that 24" won't pose an issue for it. I just hope it doesn't distort it like Ive seen some do.
Have a good rest of the weekend, I'm off to work in a few. The last day of my service contract, I can't say as I'm too sad to see it end. I did a cost study and I've made less than $8,000/ year from it over the last 3 years so I'm not renewing the contract.

Legs tomorrow again.

Yea, it was loaded with M's weight. I use a bunch of 5's so my forearm doesn't hit it then load the rest with 10's. I do them at the end and I'm damned lucky to do 120-150 lbs depending upon what I've done. You don't need too much weight for them to work, go easy at first until you get the hang of them. I don't want to be the reason you're getting your shoulder operated on.

SQUATS- 4X12 Iupped the weight a bit on these so I dropped the reps off.
leg press- 4x10
SLDL-2X15
HYPEREXTENSION-3X10 with a 5 second hold at the top
STAIRS OF HORROR- 50LB DB in each hand, up and down my stairs 2X.

My ass hurts more than my quads right now, lol!! The steps are something that you have to do to totally appreciate.

M is going back to see the ortho on monday to see what he thinks about her progress, I'm still not happy with her ROM at this point, niether was he. I think he wants another MRI to see any changes. She has gotten about 10" more in her ROM since the accident. In comaprason she was off her crutches and doing BW wall squats by now with her ACL repair. I'm hoping he'll order another one to see if there was any changes.

Dad looked like a new man yesterday so he's on track for recovery as well, thanks to all who said a good word to the big guy for me, we all appreciate it.

Hopefully the worst is behind me and I can get back to training 110% now. I really missed my steel time this week, every time I set in to lift, something was in the way.

Oh yea, I forgot about cardio, actually it was ICEO yesterday.....2hours chasing the snowthrower about on my driveway and my dad's. This was really heavy snow, the snowthrower was more like a water cannon then a snow thrower, lol.

It was another good one, not too much volume, but heavier weights than I was moving before. Tomorrow will be a SERIOUS leg work out, I got the new toy for curls and extensions.

Jag, I'm about to go to war with the ins co. They didn't get her paperwork to the PT in time so M missed an appt. I'll be talking to them tomorrow to let them know what happens the next time they miss one. She gotten about 60 more degrees of motion from when she started so she is making progress. I can do the knees, but this shoulder thing is a little out of my league with rehab.

Tonight was cardio, 45 mins on the stepper at levl 9 on the HIIT setting. I am going to go play around with the new leg machine a little bit to get used to it for tomorrow's leg hell.

M isn't home tonight and I need to go to Victoria's Secret and get her some new drawers for under the tree. :D I can't have her running around with her ass hangin' out, oh wait, she wears thongs, nevermind!! :D

Greenie....With the PL event coming all the cardio is ill advised. Focus on the strength and do not worry about the vanity.

You will need to come in full and strong. You can add some pounds to the lifts before the event without the cardio.

Nothing today other than to play with the new leg extension/ curl machine a little. This thing is cool, you can adjust where it hits you like one that would be used at a PT's office. Had dinner with M's family, tenderloin, mac and cheese (M's home made), salad and yes, I had 4 choco chip cookies. M's down with the virus, this is odd because she has a lower body temp than me. I've been up off and on with her all night. I'm wondering if my falling thyroid values are causing my body temp to fall as well, she NEVER gets rotaviruses. I'll be back at university tomorrow and have more resources at my disposal to do some research.

The Ruling That Opens a Crack in the Door

By David Montgomery
Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, January 5, 2006; C01

So this week a Montgomery County judge has ruled that mooning is a cheeky yet legitimate form of communication -- but then, Chaucer and Mel Gibson taught us that long ago.

The truth is that words frequently fail the human species. If you want to send a message, don't call Western Union; an even older, surer technology might serve. Unbuckle, bend, let it shine.

What's the message?

"He was showing his disapproval. . . . It was intended to offend, in the sense of being critical," says lawyer James Maxwell, speaking of his client, Raymond McNealy, 44.

Last June, exasperated by a feud involving a homeowners association, McNealy felt moved to moon his Germantown neighbor, Nanette Vonfeldt, a member of the association's board, who was accompanied by her 8-year-old daughter. McNealy was put on trial for indecent exposure -- and found guilty last fall. His misbegotten moon could have cost him three years in prison and a $1,000 fine. After an automatic appeal, this week the verdict was reversed.

Mooning is a blunt instrument to communicate just the sort of disapproval/contempt/derision that homeowners associations can elicit. It is not particularly nice or well-mannered. As Circuit Court Judge John W. Debelius III said in the acquittal, the act is "disgusting" and "demeaning." McNealy, who is retired on disability from his family's home improvement business, might have experienced a different judicial outcome, added the judge, if he had been on trial for "being a jerk."

At a time when some say civil liberties are being restricted (the Patriot Act is silent on mooning), it may be comforting that the right of Marylanders to moon has been affirmed. But the implications are staggering.

Are Free Staters free to moon anybody, anytime? Will FedEx Field fill with burgundy and gold crescents beaming down the next time the Cowboys are in town? Will there be full moons all over College Park every night there's a basketball game with Duke? On the annual lobby day in Annapolis, when the masses come to petition the legislature for their favorite causes, will they dispense with the formalities and just drop their pants? Can citizens moon judges, police officers, the governor?

"I don't think that mooning the governor -- I'm not suggesting it's a nice thing to do -- would be any worse in terms of violation of criminal law than thumbing your nose," opines Maxwell.

He considers his court victory a nice bit of legal reasoning: "With hard work, we cracked the case, no buts about it."

Not so fast, says Montgomery County State's Attorney Doug Gansler: "This is not a blanket permission slip to moon in Maryland."

Here the lawyers fall into an arcane back-and-forth. While Maxwell says the judge ruled that buttocks are never "private parts" to fit the crime of indecent exposure, Gansler says he'd prosecute again if an alleged mooner intended his act as a crime.

But who moons with criminal intent?

"If exposure of half of the buttock constituted indecent exposure, any woman wearing a thong at the beach at Ocean City would be guilty," Judge Debelius said.

Incidentally, Maxwell says his research suggests mooning also is legal in the District, but not in Virginia. "If the Georgetown basketball team is traveling out to Virginia, and somebody decides to moon somebody on the way," Maxwell says, "they better do it before they cross the river."

But it's hard to imagine that mooning the White House from Lafayette Square would be tolerated for long.

Let the lawyers haggle. Somehow, the judge's verdict recognizes a more fundamental truth. Despite scattered prosecutions across the country, the instinct to moon is powerful and persistent. It has always been with us, because we are not always an eloquent people, or maybe mooning is the height of eloquence.

In "The Canterbury Tales," written in the 14th century, Chaucer included a seminal mooning scene in "The Miller's Tale." A suitor comes looking for a kiss, and the object of his desire sticks her "nether eye" out the window, which in the dark he busses.

We laugh, and in our laughter is a judgment of this boorish behavior, as intended by Chaucer, says Michael Olmert, professor of English at the University of Maryland.

Mooning, or references to buttocks as moons, turns up in the work of James Joyce and Samuel Beckett. The Oxford English Dictionary traces mooning as an organized activity to California in the early 1960s, and offers published examples such as: "(1994) The crew of a hovering American helicopter removed their trousers and mooned at the Russians."

There are subsets of mooning activity. Photocopying a moon was popular a few years back -- in 2003 a man was arrested for doing just that at a courthouse photocopier. Pushing a moon against the window of a car or bus is a "pressed ham." Coming soon if not here already: moon pictures on cell phones.

There's mooning in the movies, from "American Graffiti" to "Braveheart," in which Mel Gibson has the brave Scotsmen show what they really think of their English adversaries in a mass battlefield mooning.

Mooning can be a ceremonial, community ritual. For the last quarter-century, there has been a day of the "Annual Mooning of Amtrak," across the street from a bar in Orange County, Calif. Hundreds of people gather along a chain-link fence to moon because it's wacky and fun.

Sometimes the message morphs. Consider: Women, as a rule, aren't mooners. That's because when a woman flashes her posterior it can be a come-hither gesture.

"In general, exhibitionism is perceived as aggressive on the part of a man, where it's seen as seduction on the part of a woman," says Judith Levine, the author of books on sex and the body, who also wrote one of the best essays on mooning, "Crack Addiction: The Gentle Art of Mooning." "When you add the element of it being the buttocks, not the genitals, the buttocks being this degraded part of the body, it becomes funny, degrading, loutish, frat partyish."

Mooning, as it happens, has a history in official Maryland. Late one night in 1988, Joseph V. Lutz, a Democratic member of the General Assembly from Harford County, was walking past a restaurant when through the window he spied a table of reporters in the otherwise empty establishment.

He couldn't resist.

"It was not a full shot," he said later.

LOL! :D

That's the problem here in Maryland jag, not enough people like him to tell the nosey nellies to PISS OFF!! They have these neighborhood associations here that tell you what color door you can put on your house, what color you can paint it ,etc, etc, etc. They started one in the neighborhood where I grew up, our house was on the original farm that they built the neighborhood on. We were putting up a new pole barn and the idiot from the next road over came and told us we needed to get permission from the association to put it up. My dad threw his hammer at her and told her to" Get the F**K OFF MY LAND OR THE NEXT ONE WON'T MISS!" Needless to say they never came back. Her husband was the neighborhood drunk, one night he tried the younger Robert on for size, I was too big!! :D Every time they would go away, we'd climb over the fence and pull the chlorine out of their pool and I'd dump in some sodium thiosulfate, a chlorine remover used in aquariums. Just before they'd come back, we'd put the chlorine back in the pool. I was such a little bastard! :D

On to the reason I keep this thing going......LEGS was the flavor of the day

SQUATS- 4X8 Still not back 100%
SLDL - 2X15
LEG PRESS- 3X10
LEG EXTENSION- 3X10
LEG CURL- 3X10
HYPEREXTENSION- 3X10 2 second hold at the top

I'm already feeling this one, I'll be crippled by tomorrow, still not sure whether I'm gonna hurl or not.
I've kept the cardio down to the least amount I can tolerate. I've been doing 10 mins pre and 15 mins post. I talked to one of the sports med guys and a girl and they said breaking up cardio has little effect on its effectiveness and may help to keep me from eating myself so I'll stick with this routine for another week, then it's gonna be heavy weights all the time, 4-5 reps max to make sure my deadlift comes in right at the 600+ lb mark. I looked at the competition and I don't see why I can't take the Masters unless one a dem monsters comes out of woodwork at the last minute. I'm 5 weeks out at this point.

I weighed myself yesterday too, I dropped 7 lbs over the last 2 weeks, being sick and carb depleted is a big factor here, carb up starts tomorrow, I'll re-weigh saturday to see where I am. I'm figuring I'll be down somewhere around the 4 lb mark which is right where I want to be. The veins in my arms and legs are starting to show good, pants are getting loose so I'm losing something, probably my mind! :D

My folks have an 11 acre farm, the next farm is 66 acres and the one next to it is 43. I have free run of all that property. I just get excited when they're so close, I like to at least give them a sporting chance.

To those that are new and don't know me, I hunt for meat, I eat what I kill, the rest is donated to soup kitchens. It's rare that we get beef, any type of beef. We eat venison most of the time, buffalo and whatever is being grown on the farm, I got some ducklings last week.

Shoulders today after a quick brake job on my truck. Classes were cancelled today so I didn't have to do the 180 mile round trip to university. I was hoping for POWER DAY, but I'll hit them next week.

MILITARY PRESS- 4X 8,7,5,5
LYING LATERALS- 3X8
FRONT BB LATERALS- 4X8,8,7,6
REAR LATERALS- 3X9,9,8,8
DB MILITARY- 3X8

That was it, very quick, I was out of there in 40 mins with that volume and heavier load. I'm still holding on most, gaining on others. Next week I'll drop the cals a few days to see what happens.

I'll talk to y'all on Monday, maybe late Sunday night if I get in in time.

What a weekend, went down and passed 3 small stones on Friday night and spent all night back and forth to the bathroom. I don't have a clue as to where they came from, but at least they were small, less than 1mm. I don't know if they are protein related or what, I captured 2 of them so I can send them off to the lab. Then yesterday it went from 70 in the morning to snow overnight, freaky weather.

DB BP- 4X6
BB BP- 3X5 I felt some shoulder pain and ditched the last set. If it keeps up, they'll get axed from the workout yet again. It's mot like I didn't warm up well before hand.
FLYES- 3X10
BB FRONT LATERAL- 4X8
DB SIDE- 3X10
REAR LATERAL- 3X8 New PB.
MILITARY PRESS- 4X 8,6,5,5

BACK & BI'S TODAY

PULL UP- 3X4 +45
CHINS- 3X6 +35
LAWNMOWERS- 3X6
LOW ROWS- 3X6 New weight, I'm in uncharted territory here, this is the most I've ever done so it's all PB's on this one from here on out.
SCOTTS- 3X8
HAMMERS- 3X8

Strength is holding well with the few extra cals in there, 3 weeks out to the PL comp. I'll be retesting on thursday just to make sure I'm where I wanna be, there is no 2nd place in my book. If I miss y'all will hear me across the country, lol!! Needless to say, ABS ARE OUT OF THE QUESTION right now.

GREENFEATHER
01-21-2006, 07:24 PM
Keeping your ass down is THE NUMBER ONE THING TO DO WHEN DLING! I've seen the deadlift end careers, do what you can, don't get sloppy. I'll have M shoot some pics tomorrow since I seems to have deleted the others I had. I'll use a straight bar this time since it's what I've been using. Other than keeping your behind down, start off with weights you can handle, here again, leave your ego at the door. Stay with lower reps once you've mastered the lift, I do no more than 5 reps every 7-10 days for no more than 3 sets. I was told that the lower back heals slower so I stay with the low volume and lots of rest time in between workouts. The best way I've found to keep my butt down is to look at the cieling. When you're done, you're done, don't do another sloppy set, if you feel the need to do another set, strip off 50 lbs just to be safe. You'll be surprised at how whipped you'll be from just a few sets as they tax your entire body.

GREENFEATHER
01-22-2006, 10:52 AM
No legs today, I'm whipped from all of the crap we have to do here at the house. While we were away the wind sprung the fron screen door and took the back screen door off the hinges. I know where some of the tax refund money is going, lol. I fixed the front door, the back door was KIA, no hope of repair. Such is life living in a house that was built in 1934. I'll get the DL pics in a little while.

You'll be surprised at how whipped you'll be from just a few sets as they tax your entire body.No kidding. Deadlift is my best lift in terms of weight, primarily because I don't need a spotter to work at my absolute max. Deadlifts can be a workout all of their own, they place a huge demand on the entire body and frequently leave me whipped. I love 'em and hate 'em at the same time.

Enjoy the day off Greenie.

LEGS!!

SQUATS- 4X20 NEW PB
SLDL- 3X15
HYPERS- 2X10 +90
EXTENSIONS- 3X10 NEW PB
CURLS- 4X12, 10, 6, 5
LEG PRESS- 4X10
CALF RAISES- 4X20

One hell of a workout, total time was 62 mins and that has to be a record in and of itself. I'm gonna do some chest tomorrow.

It looks as though the PL meet might get cancelled. The coordinator sent me an email and said that if they didn't have 20 more people register they'll have to cancel. This sucks, I've been trying to walk a tightrope with calories and now I find out I could have been going balls to the wall with the diet. Rest assured there will be abs by May, I'm hoping for my 44th Bday.

My thyroid level is still tanking and thursday I'll be hammering the doc to get on replacement therapy. I'm stalled out and I'm going to do a 10 day keto cycle like Dan says to do to see if I can scare my weight off a little!! Now it'll be me and Charlie the Boxer on thyroid meds!!

DIPS- 3X8 BW Did these late so I was whipped
MILITARY- 3X5 New PB
TRI BAR PRESS-2X6
DECLINE- 3X6
URR- 2X10
BB LAT- 2X10

A good workout, I'm cutting back on the reps and upping the volume just a tad. I'll be throwing an arm day in with this set up. I'm hoping that I'll get some T3 thursday. My weight hasn't moved in 10 days and I've cut cals for 3 days all the way down to 2000. On a lighter note I found the Holy Grail of teas. Irish breakfast tea from Trader Joe's, this stuff was crank in a cup. I'm still wired from the last cup I had at 1300 hrs, I sure as hell hope it wears off so I can sleep, lol!! :D Maybe the bone jarring jolt of caffiene will do something, lol!! 2 days till carb up, it's been 9 days so I'm having a cheat meal friday at Carabbas damnit!! Maybe the cephalopods will do something to me, probably kill my ass.

Here's a few DL pics and one of M, you'll see the serious amount of atrophy in her shoulder, war is immenent at this point. When I saw her with her shirt off, I was shocked. Pic 283 is her before the accident, if someone could photochop the 2 pics of her together and repost them here, I would be eternally grateful. I'd like to see the difference since I can't seem to do it with Winderz!

Pic 316 is HOW NOT TO GO THROUGH MID RANGE. I put that there to show you the wrong way. The others are take off and lock out, in order for it to count, you have to hold 3 seconds. Those are the longest 3 seconds you will ever endure lifting!!

If you have any nasal/sinus problems _I'll tell you what I use.

I use two things... A Product called Alkalol.
http://www.alkalolcompany.com/about.html

It tastes like Listerine with Peroxide in it. Nasty stuff, but man it works big time for gargling, and for rinsing out your sinuses. Fair warning - this will separate the men from the boys when you run it through your nose.:D LOL

I alternate that with 8 ounces of warm water with 1/4 tsp of salt and 1/8 tsp of baking soda dissolved in it.

For you sinuses:

I have both a Sinu Cleanse system by Sinurinse www.sinurinse.com, which is just a basic Neti Pot like they've used in India for thousands of years.
My favorite is the Neil Med Sinus Rinse system. http://www.unimedprod.com/

These will help totally clean out your sinuses.
They both work about the same. I just bought both to see which was better.

I'm a musician, and there is nothing worse than trying to sing with your nasal cavities packed with mucus, so I use these things all the time.
The NeilMed version is a better deal really, because it comes with 50 packages of premixed nasal wash - you just put a packet in 8 ounces of warm water.

As somebody who has fought with Bronchitis for years, I feel for ya! It really is a pain.... I always made it worse by being a smoker - I';m jut glad that's over. Two winters ago I was coming down with it, and I thought I was safe to sing - and I wasn't. I blew my voice out and couldn't talk for a month.... now THAT was frustrating.

The only thing I can tell you that I do, is load up with Vitamin C, and drink warm or hot tea, and Chicken Noodle soup.... and I spend a lot of time in a hot shower because it helps loosen any chest phlegm up. I tend to let these things run their courses mainly because I'm really leery of doctors.

I've gotta agree with Tiny, I use both these things in a nasal wash when a sinus infection threatens; haven't had one for 2 yrs. Another home remedy besides the C is to load up on garlic, both natural & the caps - Kyolic aged & PureGar are good but each work slightly differently. You may smell a little like sulfur after 5 gms of these caps, but it'll fumigate yer innerds. Works well for me. Feather, I remember once you mentioned an herb that I've used, echinacea, I found that works OK if you catch the virus early, but it's not too effective if you use it for more than a wk. In my experience. Hang tough.

Greenfeather,

There was also something else I wanted to tell you about, but couldn't remember the name of it.

It's called Sambucol.http://www.sambucol.com/

Sambucol is made form Black Elderberry Extract, and it will kick the heck out of a cold or flu.

I guess the sugar free one works as well as the regular one, but I prefer the regular version... as one of my friends said "it would be great with vodka!" LOL

I am going on thyroid replacement therapy Tuesday as well. I'm tired of the cold hands and feet. I'm not sure if it's the lower BP, the thyroid or a combo of both. GREENFEATHER
01-29-2006, 10:17 AM
It's actually a small freight scale, it only goes up to 10,000 lbs by .01 lb. I use it to get equal weights on the dumbells I'm making. The laser distorted the pieces so I'm doing them the old fashioned way, BANDSAW AND LATHE!!:D
I was hoping to do them the newfangled way with the laser, but we can't seem to get a good gut on anything over 14". This piece of armour is 24" thick and the weight varies as this piece is off a WW2 carrier and the tolerances aren't what they are today. I'd love to have access to a smelter for a day, I'd make a 12" diameter cylinder so all I'd have to do is slice off what I need. I've built 6 pairs of dumbells from 80-120 lbs so far and I'm going to go all the way to 150 lbs.

It sucks though, because when bronchitis set s i - that's exactly what it feels like. That's when the humidifier I bought at the almighty Walmart for $30 becomes my best friend. I plug that sucker up in the bathroom, and just go in there and sit for a while; I just leave the humidifier running all day, and when I go in there -I'll turn the shower on blasting hot so I have maximum steam....and it will help loosen all that gunk right up.

My home scale is off by 9 lbs, not in the good direction either. I finally got the freight scale fixed at the shop so I have a reliable very accurate scale to use

40andnew, I like the carb orgy, I'm having one lol!!

Enjoy it! (40&N salivates with envy)

Back and bi were the flavour of the day:
HAMMER PULLUPS- 4X6 +35
NARROW PULL DOWNS- 3X6
LOW ROWS- 3X6,5,5
SCOTTS- 3X6,5,5
HAMMER CURLS- 2X6
ALT CURLS- 2X6
I used the old arm blaster just for a change of pace, it kicks some serious ass! I'm feeling about 90% so tomorrow we'll hit some legs. I'm liking the narrow grip stuff so I'm gonna stay with them for a few weeks.
Thanks for all the well wishes, they are appreciated!!

WHEW!!! I smoked the back and bis better than I thought, lol!! Low reps and heavy weights will do that I guess. So, that means 20 min stepperoo times 2 for 40 mins. Tomorrow might be legs, M is going to see the ortho tomorrow but I think we'll be done before 1400 hrs.

LEGS TODAY

SQUATS- 3X8 NEW PB
SLDL- 2X15
HYPERS- 3X12
LEG EXT- 4X10 NEW PB
LEG CURL- 4X10 NEW PB

It was an ass kickin' leg day, I'm lovin' the new machine!! It seems to be lovin' me too. Tomorrow will be either shoulders or chest, I'm leaning towards a possibility of both.

On to a more serious note. M has a possible 2 cm tear on the medial section of her rotator cuff. The doc wants to see another view so we're off to the radiology place tomorrow for another round of " fun with super magnets". I'm about at wits end. I've been keeping it to myself, but I'm just about to the end. I like this doc, he thinks he knows what the problem is. He said there was a wierd reflection in the last MRI, hence the need for the new one with a different view to confirm what he "thinks" he sees. On a more positive note, I'm getting a hell of an education on the mechanics of the human shoulder joint!!

Man, look at you stack up all those new PB's! Nice work, Greeny! I'll keep my finger crossed for M's shoulder. At least you've found a doc who sounds like he halfway knows his ****!

M's tear about same as mine when Dr. Shoulder told me to stop lifting for 3 months, join the YMCA morning adult lap swimmers and swim. I swam M-W-F and cardio machined T-Th-Sat. He was dead on right, I was healed and he was out $$$ on scope surgery. That was now 4 years ago and a gazillion pounds lifting ago. I sure hope M's recovery is as simple as mine was.

Nice job on the PB's hell looks like Jag's got someone to push him for the most sandwiches. Thanks again for the DL pics, dropped the weight back and had no problems hitting my sets this week even did them sumo. Have you ever mess with DL's on the trap bar? Seems like it might be easier to get the back staight. Any opinions? Thanks

I've been curious about deads with a trap bar as well. I tend to agree that it looks like it might put the back in a more proper position.

DL's and trap bars. I don't much care for them. If you don't have wrist issues, you will after you do them a few times. It's a real pain in the ass to get centred up on a trap bar and I can't get my form right. Some of the guys at university use them all of the time, my trap bar just sits there. I do better on shrugs with dumbells.

We were going to go away, but the weather forecast was crap so we went hunting this am. I had a post that I thought made it, I guess it slipped in Krepnox like a few of my posts.

I put 2 more in the freezer and that brings the total for this year to 46. They're getting smart on me now so I've switched over to the rifle. 1st one was about 200 metres and the second was out about 450. My dad was with us and told me I'd never make the shot. I said I got a $50 that says the deer doesn't move when I hit it, it didn't. I hate to wound anything, I like a quick clean kill. I even let the old man keep his money, lol!! He's used to Garands and maybe doing well at 600 metres, I know anything inside of 800 is done for. This Remington is what the Green Beret made that 1250 yard shot on the insurgent in Iraq with. Practice makes perfect when shooting. You need any help over there Kieth, you know where to find me, I'll even bring my own rifle.:D

Interesting. I didn't think about wrist position on those, but I can see where it could put the wrist at an awkward position for deads. At any rate...hey, man...nice shot! :D

I've chased more than my fair share through the brush. I just don't like to wound an animal, it's bad medicine.

I'm sitting here watching Timothy Treadwell, Mr Grizzly, this man is about 5 cans shy of a 6 pack. You don't play and live with Grizzly bears, it's REALLY bad medicine as he and his girlfriend found out the hard way. I just don't get it, I can see helping them and being an activist. I would not live among them for months at a time and get to within inches and sometimes touching them, you're asking for trouble!!

MMMMMMMMMM Hand raised Venison!:D LOL
That's a beauty man. My brother was living on a farm in Virginia, and the deer would literally just walk up to you. The people who owned the place had been handfeeding them for so long that the doe's and fawns would come right up to you and nuzzle you - looking for a treat. My brother freaked out the first time it happened, he told me he was thinking "This deer is lucky I'm a vegetarian!":D
But it was pretty cool. I wouldn';t have trusted a buck though - no thanks, I could just see me getting gored by an 8-pointer in rutting season.

Man, I haven't hunted in 20 years. We used to when we were young, but I got to the point where I just didn't have it in me to kill deer. I love to eat them, and the meat is great, but I just don't have it in me to kill them when I don't have to. They are definitely one of the most beautiful creatures to watch in the wild. We used to go and just watch them.

Then there's that other side of the family...the real rednecks in my family (they said I'm not one because I "read them there books") that goes fishing with dynamite. LOL

Legs yesterday

LEG- PRESS 5X8
LEG EXTENTION- 4X8
LEG CURL- 4X8
HYPERS- 3X10 2 second hold at the top
STAIRS OF HELL 3X7 with a 45 in each hand.

I was smoked and that stepper today damned near killed me.My weights are increasing weekly on the leg exercises. I never kept records on these so I don't know what is a new PB other than the extentions and curls. Those 2 were the same as last week with an extra rep. With all the crap that's going on here, I'm lucky to remember what the hell I'm supposedto be doing, lol!!

45 mins on the stepper today.

We're finally getting somewhere with M's shoulder with the new MRI that was done. There is a 2+ cm tear in the cuff, they're trying to get a surgery date as we speak. Here it is almost 3 months later and FINALLY some head way. I spetted in because I didn't feel things were moving fast enough. It's torn in a wierd spot, look more like a rupture to me than a tear.

Pete, disregard that PM I sent you over at CKD. All it took was for me to get the ticket and leave it out where it would be found. It got my point across, better than words.Things are gonna change or there's gonna be hell to pay on the reservation!!

Nothing today, way too much going on at the doctor's office, we didn't get home till 1730 and that's too late. Tomorrow will be push-pull in penance for skipping today's workout.

This doc takes the time to explain things to us. He's going to give her another month to allow for her to get some strength gained back. He said go as hard as she can stand, her surgery will be after I get back from The Arnold, sometime in mid march. He's working on scheduling a day in, he said it should take no more than an hour to fix up. He figures when she fell, her humerus acted like a prybar and popped ther bursa and cuff in 1 place and possibly another. He doesn't see anything, but he said that was a long fall not to tear up anything else. I feel like the weight of the world has been lifted from my shoulders. I called the insurance co and ripped their asses out again tonight as well. They haven't approved the rest of her PT. I told M to go schedule them and give me their number to the insurance company. Funny thing is, 10 minutes after I threatened a lawsuit the PT was approved, imagine that? BASTARDS!!! They're pushing someone that doesn't deal well with a loved one being sick or injured. It's a damned good thing they're office is in Fla or I'd probably be in jail by now, lol !
Thanks for all your support, looks like the end of the run is in sight!!

Glad to hear things are getting better and things have gotten straightened out with the insurance company. As an agent...I get ticked off myself more than enough dealing with Corp. on getting clients bills paid. And its usually down to Medicare causing all the problems and holding things up. We pick up what Medicare doesnt cover.

Workouts look great man....keep it up! See you at the Arnold hopefully.
