I doubt that, I bought hers out of Brazil just a few minutes ago so it'll be a week getting here. Just enough material to cover up the umm "sensitive bits". :D Mine are generic, no flowers, lol!!
I pushed my BP too low again and was dizzy as hell last night and this am so I decided to stay home. I'm off to see my GP in a few to reconfirm what M did last night. I cut the dosage in 1/2 so we'll see what happens.

Y'all might be able to call me tiny if what we fear is wrong with me is true. My doc seems to think that I have Vestibular Syndrome. I've been on several meds to get my head back in place to no avail. Right now I don't know where this wil leave me, I go for an MRI at 1400 hrs tomorrow just to rule out any tumours or anything. This morning on my way to the truck I almost ended up in the ponds, I was staggering like I'd had 20 Guinesses and I usually don't stagger even when I'm drunk. I stand fast, I'm dizzy, I turn my head real fast, I'm dizzy. Everyday things you take for granted have become an absolute chore to do. As I'm sitting here typing this, the screen is getting blurry. M is beside herself so I feel bad for her most of all. Luckily I have the lights and food on timers at the shop and all she'll have to do is go fill up the drums of feed to deal with the fish there on top of all her other duties. I'll post the findings tomorrow when I get them.

We actually see vestibular syndrome in both dogs and cats. Unfortunately, we don't always know what causes it.
The doc actually started him on the same medication that we use at the vet clinic for this, but it hasn't helped at all.
Still no word from the radiologist yet..hopefully we'll have some news tomorrow.
Kiitos paljon for all the good thoughts coming our way.

Thanks for your prayers, no matter who you pray to, I'll take them. It's been a rough week and the vertigo seems to be better tonight. Still no word from the docs, I'll be tearing someone a new one tomorrow at 0800 you can bet on that. There are a few spots on one of the views of my right side that concern me, they're not on the left side and I want to know if it's normal or not. If I don't get an answer, M or I will be going to university tomorrow so I can have one of my friends read the films for me.
I'll tell you something, there's not too many things in this world that scare me, but this has me scared and scared BAD! The feeling of being helpless and watching what it's done to M has been horrific to us both, M more so than me. I even made peace with Great Spirit last night, I was figuring on waking up to not being able to walk at all, but I guess he heard my plea for help. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Yes, some good, some not so good. The radiologist seems to think I have a Thornwald's Cyst. They are rare and where it's at could explain my bouts of vertigo. If anyone feels like looking info up, I'm all ears, I'm not finding much. :( I didn't get back soon enough to make an appt with the ENT to see where we go. I'm hoping this is something simple that can be taken care of quickly, The Arnold is coming I'm damned well gonna be there!! As soon as I hear more, I'll let y'all know what the verdict is. Thanks for the prayers, good vibes and thoughts, we both appreciate it more than y'all will ever know. M and I could use some fair winds and following seas for a change.

01-26-2007, 02:03 PM
Hey, Rob. At least you're making progress on this thing. Here are a few links with some info about Thorwald Cysts.
http://www.medcyclopaedia.com/library/radiology/chapter10/10_4.aspx
www.iapo.org.br/esp/manual/partes/nose/21.pdf+thornwald+cyst&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=11&client=firefox-a[/url]
The Thornwald cyst (or cyst of the pharyngeal bursa) is a pathology
oin the nasopharyngeal midline, visible at by X-ray, in the same location as
the pharyngeal tonsil (adenoids),but of with a smooth consistency, soft upon
when digitally compressedion, and with greenish contents. The diagnosis is
through pathologyanatomopathological, enabling visualization of allowing one
to observe the the tubular formations of the foregutprimitive bowel. Their
treatment involves the use of antibiotics when there is infection, surgical
drainage and marsupialization of the bursa.
http://www.ghorayeb.com/ThornwaldtBursa.html
http://www.cancergroup.com/em35.html
From what I could gather, when they're benign and not connected to a form of nasopharynx cancer (which is supposedly usually the case that they are benign), they put pressure on the ear drum so that air flow doesn't occur normally and thus the vertigo. It sounds like they can usually successfully be treated with antibiotics, so hopefully it will be an easy fix for ya, bro.
I'm hoping it's benign and responds to the antibiotics if that's what it is. Hope this helps. Get some rest this weekend, bro.

I had vertigo once and every time I got it, I would immediately have a terrible headache afterwards and lots of nausea. It drove me bananas. It also scared the bejeezus out of me when it happened while driving (and probably other people on the road also! LOL)
I had gone back to school for a full semester in January (right after having Britt in October). Anyhoo, I had a new baby and 15 hours of classes (I made straight A's, by the way. :D ). The ENT flipped me back in a chair and my vertigo went wonkers. He said, "It's not imagined." Ummmm, I knew that. ;) They finally said it was stress. I thought, "I'm not crazy, damnit!" As soon as the semester went away, so did my vertigo. :D
They gave me anti-vert for the symptoms.
That's my vertigo story. I hope yours goes away soon, Rob!

OK, here's where we stand as of 2027 hours this day. I go back to ENT #2 tomorrow for a vestibular study to see just what is causing the vertigo. I really like this doc, he and I hit it off well. He's a fisherman and he's not looking to line his pockets off surgerys. He does want to fix the schnoz, but he's more interested in figuring out what's causing the vertigo. I had a hearing test tonight that showed partial loss in my left ear. No ****, it's the one that's facing the muzzle of the weapon that I'm firing. So I go back at 0900 for that test tomorrow. The vertigo was bad today, as bad as last week and I hope it's better tomorrow, I really don't wanna yak out there!!

I hope it's something simple they can pin down. It doesn't sound like an easy problem to trace. could be lots of things.
Ear infections can go on a long time, but are easily treatable with a good flushing and anti-bios. Hopefully that's it.

Well, the tech said there is an issue in my ear somewhere. She is deciphering the data as we speak. I hope she finds some sort of an answer in the test they did. I was impressed with this young lady as well, top notch and she is on the ball. She's working her way to her Ph.D. in Audiology. I can't commend the people at this group enough for what they've done for me in the last 2 days. I just hope I get some answers this afternoon or monday.

Well, if these meds don't start doing something, I'll be coming off them TODAY. All they do is make me sleep an I haven't taken them today. If it's not the damned dizzy spells, I'm sleeping, so I go from sleepy to dizzy and it's getting tiresome to say the least.
It'll be tuesday before I see the neurologist to see what he has to say.
A big thanks to all that have said kind words, sent PM's, Emails and called me, you're the ones that have kept me sane through this ordeal. Barb, Jag, Pete, Mark, joed, mom24, Josie and the rest, thanks for helping us both as this has been one of the most trying times in our lives. If you see odd typing, I either nodded off or I can't see what I'm typing so you'll have to forgive the errant typos here and there.
I have a feeling that the 4 spots that I said didn't look right are going to be the issue. All of the docs I've seen thus far have said that it would be rare for the cyst to cause an issue other than a runny nose.
Thanks again from both of us!!

There will be no quitting here brothers!! It was a hell of a shock when we got the news the other day, it scared me pretty bad. I'd take my old 4 man team up against a 100 man force anyday as to have to deal with the unknowns that I'm dealing with now. This stuff is WAY out of my realm of expertise and not knowing what's going on is the worst part of this ordeal. If they said "Rob, you have a tumor that needs to come out", I'd be scared, but I would know what I'm up against. This is what I'm thinking is the problem, if not, maybe epilepsy. The other night we went out to Carrabbas for dinner and when they cooked the alcohol off a pan of mussels, I just sat there, closed my eyes and shook to the point where I almost fell off the chair.
Like I've said before, watch M during this is just about unbearable for me. She has always counted on me being her rock and now the roles are reversed and she's having a time of it. She's strong though and we'll soldier through this and complete this mission Great Spirit has put before us and we'll be closer at the end than ever before.

You'll love it aqua, just watch the cals in it, lol, it's not exactly a low cal dish! You can mke keto fudge like that as wel, just omit the lemon and dmp a box of cocoa in there. Yea, it adds carbs, but with the amount of fats in there, it'll blunt any insulin release that might occur. Eata a piece before bed with a scoop of whey and you're good to go for the night.

Still nothing, this doc wants to make sure there isn't an issue with my carotid artery before going any further. He has also ordered 2 more MRI's because he saw something that he wants a closer look at. I go for the first one tomorrow and the second thursday afternoon.
Here's what he thinks the problem is:
1 Inner ear virus, this is the third doc that's said this and there's damned little that can be done about it. I'm going to do some research and talk to my doc friends at university. I'd be willing to try an anti-viral at this point, I just wanna go back to something that resembles normal.
2 He saw 2 shadows that he wants to invesigate and there are those 4 spots I talked about. If they are something, we'll know tomorrow. He said the only other explanation is a very slow growing tumour that's putting pressure on my brain stem. The mere fact that I haven't had an issue with headaches makes this less likely, but he said that there are cases of a tumour here that won't cause headaches.
I was very impressed with this doc as well, I'll be the first one to tell you that I don't care for doctors one little bit. This doc talked to me as a peer since I do have 2 doctorates under my belt, that brought him way up in my book. This doc asked a LOT of questions to which he asked me questions. I had a small issue while I was there, but it wasn't long enough to get a BP to see if that is a part of the equation.
That first ENT should be stripped of his license, his ass shaved with a broken beer bottle and left for dead on the side of the road in Death Valley! What a money grubbing piece of **** he was.
Thanks for all that are thinking of us, I really do appreciate it. We'd do the same for you. My thoughts right now are focused on another friend of mine who is having a tough time right now in his life.

I finally drove some today, 3 miles round trip to get my blood drawn, woohoo. I didn't kill anyone either, lol!!
Now I get to go spend more time in teh tube and I got 7 vials of blood drawn this morning. Y'all watch it'll be something stupid that's outta whack. The insurance company will not be happy after they dropped 6 grand on MRI's and MRA's already, lol. The first one was $1700.
Hibbs, c'mon, M and I are gonna get it done. After a bottle or 2 of wine, it can't hurt that bad, lol!! Mine didn't hurt when I got it done, of course I'd downed 1/2 a fifth of Jim Beam with my team and I think we had some tekillya in thee too. That night is still a blur. :D M said there will be a 3 Margerita minumum before she goes, lol. I wanna be sober or sorta sober this time, I like teh pain.

The doc said the only thing that would preclude me from drinking would be an issue with one of the atreries in my neck or brain. I'm hoping they find something after they took all of that blood and magnetized my nuts for the last 2 days.

I just got off the phone with my friend that's waiting for the heart transplant and he brought up a good point. He mentioned that this might be arrhythmias, I think I'ma make an appt to see my GP and ask him about this idea. If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears. He said that right before he got very ill, he'd get dizzy and pass out. Now this throws a monkey wrench into the whole damned works, the thoughts of being on heart meds forever isn't too appealing to me either. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
Still no word from the neuro, I'll be on the phone on monday for sure.

Hey GF. Sorry to hear about the problems your having getting some answers. I sure hope they get you to a decent cardiologist to check you out. A GP sure can't tell you a whole lot about the finer points of the cardio system. It took me a long time to get things straightened out with my heart, I just hope you don't have to go thru all the BS that I had to go thru. I am greatful for it though nonetheless as I am soooo much better now! Be patient there Chief! Will keep ya in my prayers that things turn out ok.

On the plus side, I am feeling a tad better today. We had a scare last night with one of the meds I was taking. It left me a tad, umm, limp. Everything is back in working order now. The spells are still there just like before, but they seem to be clustered later in the day and evening, drinking ought to be fun, lol. My back is back about 60% right now as well. One more trip to the chiro and 2 to the cardiologist and we're off to Columbus. Everyone wonders why I want to stay ahead of my orders, this is one reason that I try to stay a few weeks ahead. When I get back, I should be right where I want to be, all of my government orders are gone. I have 1 die that isn't due for 8 months, that one will take me 7 weeks from start to finish if I don't run the mills overnight, if I do, 4 weeks.
