View Full Version : Shin splits problem

Hi I have problem. I am experiencing shin splits but the problem is here:

I have read and searched what might be causing these shin splits and the main reasons were that I might have bad jogging shoes or that the road is in bad condition. I have been doing the same type of cardio and interval training with the same shoes these last 4 months and at the same place. I have never felt any pain. I have 3 jogging shoes and all 3 are hurting me now so bad jogging shoes isnt the case. The road is the same I have been going for these last 4-5 months so I dont think the road is the problem too..

any help?

it happens man, just tough it out....
shins could be getting bigger while the stretchy later of flesh around the muscle isnt getting bigger fast enough?

All three pairs of jogging shoes are ****? lol, ride a bike, no impact on the shins, heart rate still elevated.

I forgot where I read it, but google vitamin E defficiency and shin splints. I read an article a while back stating that they can come from a vitamin E defficiency.

overstriding is a main factor in shin splints. Try to slow down just a bit, take a little shorter strides and this will make it feel better. I used to get them and this cured it. Not to knock it but stretching only aggrevated the shin splints for me. When I quit stretching and took shorter strides I had no more problems.

Take an Ace bandage, soak it in water and stick in the the freezer. After your runs rap it up real tight. This helped for me when I got them. Good luck
