On these power racks/cages that have been discussed, will they accomodate a 6' olympic bar? What about a 5 footer? I'm very pushed for space and I'd like a bar that's shorter than 7'. If these shorter bars will fit, how do you think they would feel to squat with and what might be the most 45's you could put on 'em?

They'll accomodate a 6' Olympic bar as long as it has the same grip width area as the 7' bar. On the 6' bars I've seen 6" has been knocked off each side of the plate holding extensions, but the grip area is the same and there's still plenty of room for plates on the extensions. The 5' bars I've seen won't work because the grip area has been narrowed.
Never done anything heavy with a bar shorter than 7', so can't answer that question.

Easy solution
Measure the collar to collar length of the bars and compare them to the OUTSIDE width dimension of the cages.
The cages vary, but are usually in the 46-48"range.
Ask the manufacturer or the online store. They SHOULD be able to give you the dimensions, then go to your sporting goods store and measure the bars.
Most Olympics are eithe 5' or 7', the 5' will not fit
The 'standard' 6' bar varies, but a lot of them will not fit, you CAN get 7' std bars though.
