Hello,

Wanted to get some advice from the pros here. My wife is 5'2 109 15-17% bf. She does 2 hours of cardio a day and 1 hour in a half on weights. She is pretty lean. Eats very well. I have a degree in exercsie science and played sports in collge and I train hard to this day and used to train a lot of clients. My question is should she get her a trainer that specializes on getting her ready for a show in April? Getting her ready meaning a nice workout plan, nutrion guidelines, supplements and posing. Or is there a video, book or something I can get that will assist me on training her for a competition? I have never trained a client for a competition and understand its a different beast. Any feedback would be great.

Ms. fit has a book, look at the sticky thread in the finess competition section, there is a video too. I've not personally seen or read it but alot of the women seem to think it works for them

Personally if her show is in April she should'nt be doing so much cardio, becasue when it comes to dieting for the show she will lose some muscle bringing her into the show to small. Take it from me I know... I did it last year. So this year I'm lifting heavy, eating up and only 1/2 hour of cardio up until 12 weeks out from my show. I am a natural competitor and I need all the muscle I can muster up. I have been lifting for 19 years so I carry alot of maturity. I do suggest a trainer who has competed before and hopefully without steriods or such. If you need help on the actual design of her program I would be happy to help. Please visit my website www.dendys.com and go to company history. By the way I am 4' 11' and weigh in at 106 on contest day. I have won overall back in the 90's and realize that the girls today are much bigger. I personally have crossed over to all natural shows, because I am not willing to juice etc..
Have a great evening
