Anavite by Gaspari is great! Highly recommend! Recovery is noticeably better. In addition to complete vits and mins, has Carnosyn and Beta alanine so you get lots for your money. Try it!

Well I love GNC's Woman multis for active women. Its good pack of energy and lots of fat burning pills as well. Woman highly suggest this for ya if you want to be simple and not worrying about taking all these pills. GNC has a lil package of like 5-6 pills so all you have to worry about is taking this one package a day and you are good. Its got carnitine, cla, energy, lots of fiber and aminos for us woman...Good stuff

I have tried Animal Pak, but it's expensive. ON's Opti-men is by far the best I have ever tried, great price with 70+ potent vitamins at just 3 a day.

Everyone keeps saying how "expensive" Animalpak is, and yet Vitamin Shoppe typically offers it for a good sale price. Also, for most of us, 1 pak a day is plenty, so you get a 44-day supply.

I've been using Orange Triad. Haven't really notice any difference. I'm out now so I'm looking for a good value multi for my parents. Don't need any top performance one. Any suggestions?

Animal Pak and ON Opti-Men is what I really like.

NOW Adam is pretty good too but I like Opti-Men because it's basically the same thing except 3 tablets daily instead of 2!

My friend bought me Animal Pak for my birthday :-)

Animal Pak is excellent, as is Activite by MHP.

If you're looking for something simpler (a comprehensive 1-per-day multi), Solgar's Iron-Free VM-75 is good.

I agree here, started to use it recently, personally I think it's great. And I got it for AUD$72, which works out less than $2 a serving which @ 1 serving per day, I think is fairly priced. And I also recall seeing them on eBay for AUD$50, just didn't want the inconvenience of waiting.

To the CL rep, can you respond to the concerns of the artificial colors and the "unnecessary" Echinacea in OT that "shouldn't" be used for long periods?

To the CL rep and any Universal rep or someone with a lot of knowledge about Animal Pak, is there a response to the self-titled "rant" by Guardian regarding some multi's not having enough dosage of some of the ingredients to make it worth paying extra for? He mentions OT as being adequately dosed, as opposed to mentioning AP.

A lot of people are saying which multi they prefer, but these were two of the more detailed reasonings behind these preferences. However they are conflicting opinions on whether or not OT is the best one to go with.

Finally, for somebody that is not a bodybuilder or heavy weight lifter, and just trying to build lean muscle and get stronger, is there a multi that is more suited for my goals? i.e. Animal Pak might be great for someone into bodybuilding, but may contain a lot of extras that wouldn't do me any good since I'm not lifting as much as the people it was designed for.

Surprised to read that Natures Way Alive ranked fairly high #44 on that list. I just bought 2 90 capsules @ $6.67 a bottle on vitacost. If I had known about that list I might have tried Life Force by Source Naturals...I think that ranks #4. The cost on that page is not what it costs on the internet though...they are using full msrp I believe.

For instance, those life force multis are $23.11 compared to the retail of $37 .... big difference.

Riptrition makes the BEST multivitamin I have found so far, second only to GNC's Megamens. Its is really designed for people that work out and has all the amino acids to heal and promote muscle growth plus boosting nitric oxide production.

Animal Pak is adequately dosed for bodybuilders. That is who it was formulated for, it is not designed for everyone although anyone who trains hard can benefit from it.

My vote is for GNC Mega Men® Sport
And just to let u know, right now at GNC online it is just 25$, free shipping for 180caps ( 3 months supply )
I use it for half a year and feel pretty good comparing to when I used protein and creatine only. Also it helps me stop acne ( probably because of the zinc inside )
Animal Pak sound very great, but I cannot afford it so I just choose multivitamin rather than a pack daily.

ON's Opti-men. It smells like crap but this stuff really works. I feel much better and more energetic throughout the whole day and before work outs.

I've tried generic Costco, Walgreens, Target and even Alive!. Opti-men is solid. Looking to try Animal Paks after I finish this up.

has any one taken optimums nutritions multi for men i take mgea men right now but i think the other brand it much cheaper, any thoughts?>.

I've been taking ON's Opti-Men for ~6 months...previously I have taken Animal Pak (too many pills in top of all the other stuff I take) and GNC Mega Men (over priced). Opti-Men is a good value in terms of price, and it has a large variety of ingredients. Another one to look at is called Orange Triad (I think by Controlled Labs), it's supposed to be pretty good.

Controlled Labs Orange Triad for a variety of reasons. Joint product may be underdosed, but still very diverse list of compounds worth trying. Not any more expensive than Animal Pak and you take it twice a day instead of 3 times per day like Opti-men. Somewhat noticeable difference when taking it consistently. Stack with fish oil at morning and night (breakfast and dinner). Makes me feel like I'm getting my vitamins and minerals, along with some other helpful things for immune system and digestion. I'll always swear by this one. Have been meaning to try Anavite, too.

(Note: This is not a discussion about how or when to take multi-vitamins, if you should take multi-vitamins, or why some multi-vitamins are NOT good. Just list your absolute favorite multi-vitamin product and give your detailed reason.)

Have tried many different brands of multi-vitamin/mineral products. As you well know in bodybuilding world, especially when starting out, you want to try everything you can get your hand on within reason in order to get the edge. My journey has landed me with NOW NUTRITION with regards to a Men's Multi-Vitamin. The product line that I take is called ADAM Superior Men's Multiple Vitamin. It is in my opinion way ahead of the rest with regards to contents and potency, quality and ever so important in today's economy "PRICE!" The list of what is incorportated in one tab of these is unbelieveable. On top of that impressive list it boasts the addition of

Contains 10,000 IU beta carotene from a vegetarian source, with mixed carotenoids
Inositol hexanicotinate for vitamin B-3 - the superior form nutritionists recommend
B-6 derived from P-5-P, a more bioavailable and efficient form
B-12 as methylcobalamin, the most active co-enzyme form
Includes ZMA®, a chelated zinc supplement popular with active individuals
160 mg of Saw Palmetto - important for every man over 30
100 mg of energizing Panax Ginseng - standardized for maximum effectiveness
50 mg of the powerful metabolic antioxidant Alpha Lipoic Acid - rarely found in other multiples
5 mg of CoQ10 and 30 mg of Ginkgo Biloba - ideal for men of all ages - guaranteed potencies
High levels of Lycopene and Lutein, carotenoids critical for prostate and eye health
Iron-free formula offers the best value on the market for premium male multiples
Available in both tablets and vegetarian Vcaps®

So as you can see you are covered in all the areas you need to be covered. One thing I have noticed since taking this Multi-Vitamin. My immune system has become like freaking granite! Which is important for me. I travel extensively and work in some really hard places. The kind of places that still have things like the bubonic plague! So having all systems go is very important to me. Actually I have seen a difference and religiously take ADAM Superior Men's Multiple Vitamin with my arsenol of other bodybuilding supplements.

After trying the big 3 (animal pak, opti-men, and orange triad), I'd have to say orange triad is my favourite.

Opti-men is great, but doesn't have the added joint and digestion benefit of orange triad, its also rougher to swallow compared to orange triad. Animal pak I'm sure is best on paper, but taking 11 pills is quite tedious, I'd so much rather stick to 3 easy pills twice a day.

I'm very pleased with orange triad.

I think there is way to much important on a multi, even Targets is good enough.

The reason they shouldn't be valued too much is because just about every one has deficiencies. You are almost always going to want to supplement with extra vitamin d, calcium, and magnesium at the very least.

Orange Triad. In all fairness I haven't tried many others, but the immune protection is really important to me, and after sing Triad I have gotten sick significantly less often.

Very interested in trying Opti-Men, just curious...I'm one of those people who forgets a lot to take the additional servings later in the day. Is it really a big deal if I just take all 3 Opti-Men in the morning before my workout opposed to morning / noon / night, or is that a big waste? Thanks in advance.

Instead of spending my usual ten or twenty on a multivitamin, I spent $41. I got Garden Of Life: Living Optimal Multi - 252 capsules. I did a bit of reading on another forum and they said this was a great one, and so I trusted their opinion but it's a bit expensive. How'd I do guys?

I seem to be immune to sickness as well but I'm going to venture a guess that my diet is just spot on. I consume large amounts of vitamin c in addition to a high potency multivitamin.

Life Extension's Life Mix in powder form, - just ONE small scoop deliver a truckload of vitamins/minerals, and some pretty exotic plant extracts. Oh yeah.
The first time I took it several years ago I even got a bit dizzy from the massive nutrient load at once (take it with food, and LOTS of water!). They have reinvented the wheel in their formula since 1983, so it's not like it's some random kitchen sink of vitamins they've just tossed together!
AOR also makes very good stuff, but their multivit flagship "Ortho-Core" is not quite as potent. I guess it depends on what your needs are.

I have taken different multivitamin supplements but I can say that the best is Maxalife Multivitamin supplement. Since I took this supplement, I felt drastic changes in my health and even in my lifestyle. These are positive changes, though. I felt more energetic and I learned how to deal with stress easily. Among the multivitamin supplements that I have taken, Maxalife is the only one who really got me satisfied. Taking this supplement everyday makes me feel that I can live longer and better.

O.N.'s mens multi, its cheap and has everything without taking 123231230 pills

These are junk along with any other 1 vitamin pill you can take. Including GNC mega-man. Problem is with these forums are so many amateurs are on here that have no clue about bodybuilding. With a little help in google, you can type "potency and vitamins." You can find LOADS of scientific data, showing that those pills on a based on a scale to 100% potency are under 14%, which means most of it is filler. They are terrible, youre better off buying the 1 a days for 9 bucks and taking it 2 times a day to get the same results they are actually (8%) compared to "mega man" which was (6%) hahahaha - Animal Pack AT LEAST have individual pills, so they dont need filler to stuff so much crap into 1 pill. Also, the legitimate vitamans at 90% plus are around 50$ a bottle for individual all the way to 100$. Animal pack Im a fan of because they are easily 30% + I am not a rep, their vitamins and nitro are the ONLY thing I stand by, by them. Great products

Went on here to get input on the Mega Men Sport. Read a majority of these posts and now don't know which one to get. My roommate uses Mega Men Sports and another one called Sci Fit ZMA at night and he says he feels all refreshed in the morning.
Then read on here of Ultra Men, Animal Pak and Orange Triad and not sure which one will be best for me now.
Anyone want to help shed some light on this for me?

The diet accelerator by TSN is not just a muliti vitamin,,,it takes it a step further by providing a complete nutrient pack with vitamins and minerals that our bodies need on a daily basis,,,including omegas! I used this for contest prep to jumpstart the dieting process and I continue to take it everyday,,,I really get freaked out when I am getting to the bottom of the tub!
This is by far my favorite simply because I get everything I need all in one ready to go nutrient pack!

I have tried many multi vitamins through out my training years and the best MV that's worked for me is Top Secret Nutrition's ActiveXtreme. I started using the product about three months ago and I have felt amazing. It has helped in my post workout recovery time and has given me more energy before and after training. It is also the most cost effective product that I've found. TSN's product line produces top performance and results and the ActiveXtreme is a great addition to your supplement regimen.

Top Secret Nutrition's Diet Accelerator is the best I have ever tried. It is a packet that you take in the morning that inlcudes your multivitamin, multimineral, mood boosters, CLA, and Omegas. It is nice to have all I need in one packet to be taken once daily. In the best I have found myself taking many pills over the course of the day and this delivers in the morning so I can take my other supplements throughout the day.

If you had to pick just ONE multi-vitamin/mineral product, what would be the best one?

The best MV that I've used is Top Secret Nutrition's MV. First, they are easy to swallow unlike some of the "horse pills" on the market. Since adding this supplement to my regimn, I have found I have more energy and my post workout recovery time has decreased tremendously. I can also feel a difference in my training performance since I have more energy and I'm able to recover more quickly. I highly recommend this product!

Get something better. There are WAY better multi's for male athletes out there. Personally I think Animal Pak is the best, but some people don't like to take 20 pills a day for vitamins. Optimum Nutrition's Opti-Men is very good as well.

I'm new here but I'm a science junkie and have been lifting for 4 years now. My favorite multi-vitamin has to be Isotonix multivitamin. It has an isotonic transfer system and bicarbonated, so you absorb literally 90% or more. If you have any questions about how to get it, pm me. Used to take animal pack before this. Not to mention, the vitamins are powder taken with 2 oz of water to make the vitamins isotonic, so there are no fillers and they start digesting immediately. Just figure not many people know about it because it's new. Pretty awesome though.

After reading the last 25 pages of this thread and looking seriously at the ones that stand out, I am gonna go with NOW Adam when my ON OptiMen are finished for a few reasons
1). cost effectiveness (ie I'm on a budget)
2). I definitely do not need something the caliber of Animal Pak

Orange Triad look great, but cost:serving is beyond my range. The joint supps seem great. I dont need the immunity boost as I already supp with NOW phytogreens daily. Ecchinachia daily is supposedly a no-no, so there's also that to consider.

Has the high amount of lead in the Opti men multi been resolved yet? I know that was an issue a while ago, but I haven't heard of any issues with that lately.

I'm currently taking GNC Mega Man sport. As someone that has always been hesitant to take multi-vitamins, assuming I'm eating a healthy, balanced diet, I am pretty unbiased in terms of what is the best. I like the GNC mega man because it's got great reviews on GNC (doesn't appear to be gnc employees reviewing it, but who knows), and I like it for the fact that I only have to take two per day. I'm just wondering if it's worth it to switch multis or if Mega Man is a good product.

Too much vitamin a................

skiplacour

Too much vitamin a................

You have to understand how the Vitamin A is listed on the package. All Vitamin A is not the same.

Beta Carotene (its precursor listed under Vitamin A on the Mass Machine MM30 label) is only converted by the body into Vitamin A as needed. We have included the amount of beta-carotene because the body's conversion of beta-carotene into vitamin A is not very efficient, so it is unlikely to result in high levels of vitamin A in the body.

Vitamin A is an important antioxidant that helps the immune system and prevent cell damage. It helps to form skin and mucous membranes and keep them healthy, thus increasing resistance to infections; essential for night vision; promotes bones and tooth development. Beta carotene is an antioxidant and may protect against cancer

You want to make sure you get enough--without getting too much, of course. If you take a multivitamin, check the label to be sure the majority of vitamin A provided is in the form of beta-carotene which is safe.

There's so much information to wade through (182 pages here alone) that it's hard to decide what's 'best'. I don't take a multi currently but am interested in starting. From what I can tell Orange Triad, Animal Pak and Opti-Men are all popular choices. Is there much difference between multis? Is it best to take 3 pills throughout the day (as with Opti-Men) or just 1-2 in one go?

Right now I just take a single C vitamin and a D vitamin (both from Jamieson Naturals) but it has nothing to do with training, just for general health. I was thinking it would be good to add a multi and a fishoil, along with the whey protein I take.

I was using GNC Sport Multivitamin for ever and it's pretty good. I went though two bottles of Gaspari Avavite and was quite impressed! I really liked that it contained a lot of beta-alanine because that stuff gets me amped up for the gym! I had some serious tingles a few times when I combined it with Cellucor C4! The only downside is the pills were a little big and they suggested 6/day. But I liked the smooth coating on Anavite. I'd have to say Anavite is my favorite. I'm currently using ON Opti-Men and it's quite good also. You only need 3/day and the pills are a little smaller. Can't go wrong with ON either! I wouldn't mind trying the Adam next. Gotta have a good multi for the staple.

Anavite and Opti-Men is very good MV. Not into taking lots of pills so 3 per day is manageable :)

I have a question! Why do some of these multivitamins have ingredients dosed at over 100%? For example, Animal Pak has some ingredients dosed at 4000%, 5000%, and even 9000%!!!! What is the science behind doing so and is it safe to be consuming such high amounts of nutrients everyday for long times, like 25+ years?

i tried adam. i am giving ON's performaxx a run. think I'll try ast32x next then animal pak.

bb.coms multi doesn't look that bad at a glance

Can anyone confirm for me that the Adams now softgel multis are a liquid vitamin? Isn't that supposed to really help the absorption? And is it equally as good as the ON multi? That's all I have used. Thanks everybody

Took Opti-Men for around 6 months. Didn't see any benefits from it, and would continuously get sick.
Have taken Life Force vitamins for the past 10 months and haven't been sick once and all my lifts have skyrocketed. Of course I'm not attributing this all to taking a simple multivitamin, but I'm sure it has had some input.

It's hard to judge the efficacy of a multi b/c of the lack of visual or palpable results, or so I used to think. I used to take Walmart brand multi and recently switched to ON's Opti-men. I liked the list of ingredients, the extra stuff on top of the usual vitamins and minerals caught my eye. When I first started taking the Opti-men I think I actually felt a little extra energy from them but I can no longer feel it, I may just be used to the extra energy now, I don't know.

My favorite is Armor-V from MusclePharm. Tried many, probably they are all ok. AnimalPak only felt ok if I had HUGE meal with it.

I use GNC Mega Men Sport. Supports all of your basics and then some. I liked animal pack however, there are so many pills, your body didn't really digest all of them.

After reading many posts in this forum, I think next one to order/try will be Orange Triad. A lot of people like it, 9.2 rating.

My husband and I both use Puristat's Advanced Supplementation for our multi-vitamin. It also includes a digestive enzyme and probiotic so we don't need to get those separately. You can only get them from their website Puristat.com - you can check out the label for more information.

This is why Avavite is on my cart at the moment. The other MVs are great, no complaints, but I'd really like them to last past 30 days (v-armor) or 45 days (controlled labs). Anavite should last me 60 days for practically the same price.

Taking opti-men currently but even 1 pill per day makes my urine go a bright fluro yellow so it makes me think that I am just pissing out the excess vitamins. Consequently I am reluctant to take more than 1 pill per day. Is this the same with every multi vitamin? Am I wrong in assuming that it means the vitamins are being wasted?

I remember hearing in couple talk shows, that just because your urine stream is yellow, does not mean the multi-vitamin is being wasted. Perhaps up your water intake. If you drink a lot of water, throughout the day, stream will be clear (or close to it).

When I was taking Centrum Performance, it made my hyper. Since I have Tourette Syndrome, it made my tics worse. I just could not relax. There are 2 types of B12 though, one starts with M and the other C. What is the difference?

For energy in the gym, all I need is Jack3d.

hi everyone, i was wondering if anyone could help me, i am looking for a good multivitamin for a friend of mine who is a proffessional soccer player in europe, i see that opti-men is the best selling multi in the bb.com store but looking at the ingredients it seems to not only be a multivitamin but has so much other stuff if it, wich seems good.. i am just worried that it might have banned substances in it and i dont want to get my mate into any trouble.. i hope someone can help.. or even suggest other multivitamins or supplements that might be good for soccer players.. thanks in advance!

I agree. I love Orange Triad and it benefits lots more than it states on the bottle. I mainly use it for the joint support though and love how it keeps my elbows and ankles from popping.

Just got my OT in the mail. Will start taking next week, as I finish this bottle of Armor V.

Yeah, I'm really liking CL's OT!! I like that the pills aren't too big and they have a nice smooth coating. They seem to be working great and keep me lubed up. LOL.
I'd say it's a close call between Anavite and OT. Both are great but Anavite has a lot of Beta Alanine and I like the tingles!

Orange Triad. Even though I have only been using it for a couple weeks, it has helped considerably. I feel less pain in my shoulders and knees after lifting and wake up refreshed. The best bang for your buck for multi, joint and digestion vitamins. My only complaint would be having to take quite a bit of those large pills, but it's worth it.

If you had to pick just ONE multi-vitamin/mineral product, what would be the best one?

Please pick product and include the brand. Give your reasons. The best answers will be displayed on the main Bodybuilding.com site for millions of people to see!

(Note: This is not a discussion about how or when to take multi-vitamins, if you should take multi-vitamins, or why some multi-vitamins are NOT good. Just list your absolute favorite multi-vitamin product and give your detailed reason.)

Honestly is there any other multi other than Animal Pak? It has everything u need plus some why even bother with anything else?

I really liked Orange Triad for sure but I'm back on Anavite. I'm going to have to say Anavite is my Favorite. I get some major beta-alanine tingles sometimes if I do Anavite with Cellucor C4 Pre workout. Probably getting like 4-6g of beta-alanine between Anavite and C4. Good times!

I just took my first tablet of Orange Triad as listed in directions to build up tolerance. So in the morning I will take 3 after breakfast and 3 after dinner at night.

The only other full vitamin/mineral that I had ever taken was Centrum Performance which me very hyper and gave me headaches. I have Tourette Syndrome so it makes my tics worse. I am praying that OT is the answer.
