Hi all,
I ended my gym membership in April 2007 and was benching around 225. I've had quite a while off but got a weight system at home in November and am experiencing shoulder/chest problems. The reason for this post as opposed to the others is that I'm not experiencing much pain at all. Just an overall weakness in my right should/chest/tricep area. My shoulder does pop/grind when held to the side and rotated. When I try to bench press over 95 pounds my right elbow kicks out to compensate for the weakness, while my left arm just throws the weight up. The strange thing is that overhead presses are still pretty strong and don't hurt! The real test I did the other night. I grabbed 10 pound db's and started to do skull crushers, I could do like 100 with my left arm (okay maybe not that many but the point is it was easy), but my right arm had a hard time doing more than 5! It really scared me. It's like my muscles were giving out...
Is my right side just that weak after just 7 months? Is there something else going on-a strain or tear? Or is it the dreaded rotator cuff injury. Suggestions please! Doctor or rest/light weight?
