How to make rice sweet?

Hey all you great cooks...

Is there a way to make rice sweet? I'm guessing it's the same deal as oats (not naturally sweet, but throw some brown sugar in there and they rock!), but I don't think brown sugar will go with rice that well...

So how do you do it? I was thinking about putting the rice in the rice maker with the required water, and just dumping like a half a cup of sugar in it? Or, when it's done, put sugar or chocolate syrup or maple syrup or something else sugary in it?

BTW yea, this is for carb loading.

mmm... down south everyone eats sweet rice. Butter and sugar, or sweet condensed milk. Yumminess....

oh yeah, just add after you cook it. the sugar will melt in warm rice with the butter.


I wish I could carb load right now, but apparantly thats what I did all summer, and now Im on a diet:(

try sticky rice.. thats sweet buy it at your local " Asian market" it is soooo good. tell me what you think.
