However the harmonies and guitar work are awesome.
I can make out most the lyrics and it is pretty solid.

Got back from the dentist today (mother long appointment with gum cutting) and didn't even get a chance to sit down. Had to keep on working for another 3 hours.

Apparently this is mixed and produced better. I listened to to and found subtle differences
On 14 July, 2008, it was revealed at the Microsoft E3 demonstration, that the entire Death Magnetic album would be made playable for the game Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock at the time when the album is released, and later in October, in the new Guitar Hero game, Guitar Hero World Tour

This also features to versions of Suicide and Redemption. James and Kirk versions highlighting that guitarists guitar.

PASSING OF FLASH BATHORY


This is being written by Flashes family as Flash passed away on 3 September 2008 due to unspecified causes. Alot of folks have been thinking that either this is a rumor or a falsehood but alas I am writing this to verify that unfortunately this is true. Flash is no longer with us in body but her spirit will always live in everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She truly enriched the lives of those around her through her love of music and her love of her family and friends. CD sales at the present time are being suspended as our family deals with this tragedy but her father has stated that future sales of CD's will be available. A memorial tribute is being planned by many but at this time we cannot specify a date, city or venue where this will be taking place. We do not know how long we will be able to edit this page to update her circle of myspace friends but we are sure that the word will eventually get out to the masses through the network of myspace friends who were closest to Flash.

As Alan Di Perna said in Guitar Legends Magazine:

" THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE WHO ARE LIKE A SHOOTING STAR. They come and hit the planet and explode into a beautiful rainbow of colors. Then they shoot off somewhere else. And that was the life of Randy Rhoads."

We could not express truer words about Flash than was already written about Randy as we feel the same about her life.

Metallica's Death Magnetic might have debuted atop the Billboard charts, but to many disgruntled fans, it's something of a bottom feeder. Metalheads and audiophiles alike have expressed displeasure with the record's overall audio quality, claiming that it sounds overly distorted.

According to Mastering Engineer Ian Shepherd, they're hardly tone deaf. In response to fan outcry, he compared the audio of the retail CD and the version appearing in Activision's Guitar Hero III, finding that the latter indeed featured far superior sound quality.

"As you can see, the CD version on the bottom has been heavily compressed, limited and/or clipped, and sounds massively distorted as a result," he said, referencing a chart depicting waveforms of both versions.

The problem stems from extreme compression intended to boost the "loudness" of the music in the CD release. The music industry's use of the technique, which is commonly used to make television commercials annoyingly sound louder than television shows, has sparked an ongoing debate dubbed the "Loudness War."

In the case of Death Magnetic, the boost is both significant and troublesome. Shepherd's analysis shows that the CD release is a whopping 10 decibels louder than the Guitar Hero version, which translates to sounding about twice as loud to the human ear.

Metallica's label, Universal Music Group, has yet to respond to the matter. Or perhaps they're just not listening.

If anyone is interested, that's an article explaining how large files are compared to the quality of music they represent. So basically if you guys want to know the quality of an album before downloading it, all you have to do is this:

Find the total album size in seconds. Multiply this by what you think the bit rate is, so there's a bit of guesswork here. Obviously a small file with a bunch of songs suggests a lower quality such as 128kbps. A larger file suggests something like 192kbps, V0, or 320kbps. Once you get that number, divide it by 8 to convert the bits to bytes. If the total size is similar to the original file size, then there's your quality.

Random post I searched. The math is for the first album. It's about 41 minutes long, which is 2,460 seconds. Quality says 192kbps, so multiply 2,460 by 192 and you get 472,320. Now divide by 8 and you get 59,040, which is very close to the actual size of the file.

If anyone is interested, that's an article explaining how large files are compared to the quality of music they represent. So basically if you guys want to know the quality of an album before downloading it, all you have to do is this:

Find the total album size in seconds. Multiply this by what you think the bit rate is, so there's a bit of guesswork here. Obviously a small file with a bunch of songs suggests a lower quality such as 128kbps. A larger file suggests something like 192kbps, V0, or 320kbps. Once you get that number, divide it by 8 to convert the bits to bytes. If the total size is similar to the original file size, then there's your quality.

Here's an example.

Random post I searched. The math is for the first album. It's about 41 minutes long, which is 2,460 seconds. Quality says 192kbps, so multiply 2,460 by 192 and you get 472,320. Now divide by 8 and you get 59,040, which is very close to the actual size of the file.

Or, multiply the file size by 8, divide by the seconds and you get the approx bitrate

Damn, Rapidshare said I've downloaded too many files for my computer. Does this mean I can't download from them anymore until I buy a membership?

Those files don't work though. They download as MPC files and not RAR files where you can extract them.
