Anyone heard of this or do this? What have you results been?
Basically Oil Pulling is swishing your mouth with oil, and it removes toxins from yoru body. Sounds too good to be true!

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
I've never heard of this, and can't see any reasons why it should do anything except give you a nasty taste in your mouth.
What toxins is it supposed to be pulling? Why would be they lurking in your mouth? What sort of oil are you supposed to use?
I'm very skeptical about the whole "detoxing" thing at the best of times. If you have toxins that your liver can't deal with, why would an oily mouth or foot patches or a smelly tea do any better?

There is a lot of information out there on it. Do a google search and tons of info, discussion boards, etc... comes up. I wouldn't say its too good to be true but haven't tried it myself. Seems like it works for those out there that are doing it.
I did it a few days ago.
I use Pure Virgin Coconut Oil. I didn't notice anything for the first 10 minutes, but after that I could feel mucus being drawn up from my Throat/Nasal.
My nose still felt stuffed afterwards, but about an hour later, it felt great, I'm not sure why it took an hour for it to happen though.
i also notice my Bowel Movements were alot quicker the next 2 days.
One thing to note is, it is kind of expensive. You gotta use about a Tablespoon of Oil each time, which means a 16 oz Jar will be gone in less than 2 weeks. For the Pure Unrefined Oils, it usually costs like $13 a jar. I'm only going to be doing it on a weekly basis. But when my financial situation improves, I'll start doing it on a daily basis.

Actually I have done this a few years back. Oil pulling is something I learned when I was studying Ayurveda and a lot of those methods really work. The best oil to use is sesame oil though.

Just because there are websites/info/discussion forums out there, doesn't mean it's legit.
Search for info on ufo's, bigfoot, or whatever you might think is of questionable reality. You'll find all sorts of bandwidth dedicated to silly things.
OP: If you're really interested, try a search on PubMed or something similar and see if there is any actual scientific literature out there.

Oil pulling is an old Ayurvedic method to detox the body using unrefined sesame oil and many of you may be very sceptical about it but it worked for me. I had tonnes of energy, clear skin and the added benefit of it is the removal of staines on teeth.

I am very sceptical, if it's an old method that works how come so many people have not heard of it and I have never heard anyone have a Doctor recomend it. Just because something feels like its working does not mean it is or that is good for you. If I went with out drinking water for two days it would feel like im losing fat and it would even make me look thinner but thats not realy whats going on. Im not trying to knock anyone who does it but I just find it hard to belive that it is something that has worked for years and is good for you but most people have never heard of it.

Not many people are interested in Ayurveda, so not surprised that never heard of it. However, that is not to say that something does not work if you have not tried yourself, so don't knock it before you try it. In any case, washing your mouth with unrefined sesame oil is not going to do any harm, so it's definitely not some sort of damaging fad diet. It's the same think with coconut oil. A lot of people claim that it helped them to loose fat because of lauric acid in it, but it does not work for everyone.

Like I said im not knocking it and I dont think it would be harmfull but I would just like to see some modern scientific research on it. I tried google but all I could find was Ayurveda and other holistic sites.

What, exactly, do you do with it? Swish it in your mouth then spit it out?? I'm confused....
