The holidays are in full force and will soon be over so you need to do what you can to prepare for the new year by not gaining to much weight or fat, depending on your goals.

What is the best way to stay in shape over the holidays?
Consistency is key, things shouldnt change over the holidays. Sure you may take off for a day or so but you plan for that. You have to remember there are holidays all year round what is so different about this one? You train the same all year so just be consistent during Christmas time.

What is the best way to avoid temptation over the holidays?
The best way to avoid temptation is to avoid it all together but that is next to impossible. Once again I believe that you have to plan for situations like this. If you know you are going to a Christmas party and you allow yourself a cheat day then plan that day to be your cheat day. Or if you dont allow yourself a cheat day make sure you eat before you go, if you arnt hungry you are less likely to indulge in the goodies they have at the party.

What recommendations can you make for those who cannot get motivated?
Motivation comes from within. If you want this bad enough you will do it and if you dont you will make excuses to why you cant. I have been fat my whole life and I got tired of making excuses for why I couldnt go to the gym or eat right. I have been there I have seen the depression the humilation and everything else that comes along with being the fattest person everywhere you go. Guess what, man up and do it thats all there is too it.

Bonus Question: Stress is at an all time high and can affect your health goals. What steps can be taken to keep this to a minimum?
The only person that can allow you to be stressed is yourself. Sure situations can have an effect on that but if you know a certain situation is going to stress you out then avoid it and if you cant minimize it however you can. Money is always a big issue, but it was tought to me a long time ago you dont have to buy everyone you know a gift to celebrate Christmas. Its about being together as a family and celebrating. Dont celebrate the comercialized holiday celebrate the real reason of the holiday and you will be just fine.

The best way to stay in shape during the holidays is the same way you stay in shape the rest of the year. I don't understand why holidays automatically mean become a glutton and drunk. Continue to train hard and eat smart. If you feel the need to loosen up , do it in moderation.

Holydays are the best time of the year for getting rid of the stress of the every day work, to share some space with our families, friends and lovers. For that reason holydays are the best time of the year to get in top shape for the next season.

What is the best way to stay in shape over the holidays?
To establish yourself as a top athlete during holydays, you must have to be very meticulous with your training and diet schedules. For that reason I advice you to intake, very low carbohydrates during 3 days and 1 day to load carbohydrates (In other words a cheat day), with this method, you can enjoy eating some foods from holydays and at the same time transforming your body in the top athlete that you want to be.

What is the best way to avoid temptation over the holidays?
To avoid temptations during holydays, you need to make clear by yourself, about what is the goal you want to get in the short period of time. Therefore after establishing a plan or strategy you can easily, avoids the block that steps in your way. To make things more clear, for example, you can eat any food (carbohydrates) every three days and as you can see this method is not going to ruin your goal.

What recommendations can you make for those who cannot get motivated?
You can try to watch some training videos from the bodybuilders that inspire you the most, try to get in contact with some of them or with some bodybuilders in your gyms. You can also try to challenge your training partner to see who of the two get the best shape during holydays, and put a bed on it, like the winner get a 5 Pounds bottle of Whey Protein or some BCAA, etc.

Bonus Question: Stress is at an all time high and can affect your health goals. What steps can be taken to keep this to a minimum?
First and foremost people needs to concentrate in the things they have to do in an specific moment, for example if people goes to work and then goes to the gym, when they enter to the gym they have to free their minds about all the things they did during the day and be concentrated in working out. That’s how athletes like George Farah, Bill Willmore and others do, to be the kind of professionals they are.

To stay in shape over the holidays is very easy, stay focused.

If your serious about staying in shape or bodybuilding or excerising or whatever it might be then your diet should be your number one focus. There are a bunch of holidays throughout the year and does that mess up your routine? I dont think so. So just because two holidays are together it means your going to gain weight and lose all your progress, hellz no!

If you really think about it, most of the stuff you eat around this time of year is ok for you.... like chicken or turkey....now if you love cheesecake or dessert then have it in servings on your cheat day......

Stay focused and it will all be fine.

Go on a slight deficit for a month or so including the holiday season and just allow yourself the few cheats of thanksgiving, xmas, new years, etc. to put you close to maintaining or going over maintenance due to the feasts/drinking parties.
