I've just started learning cleans, and I think I'm doing pretty well. I had a few questions that I havnt been able to answer for myself.
First, hand and foot position. The way I've learned to place my feet is by jumping. Jump, and whatever width my feet land at is where I should be putting them during cleans. However, when I do that it forces my hands to grip the bar wider than I'd like. So, what trumps what? Wide foot position so I can drive off the ground more comfortable, or a narrow hand grip so I can snap the bar into the front squat position more effectively?
Second, muscles used. I find the only parts of my body that REALLY end up sore after cleans are my ass and my upper back. Is that typical? I didnt think my back would be as involved as it seems to be by how sore I am after cleans.
Third, does anyone know of a good resource to learn the OL's, including cleans? A really good video or write of of the step by step form would be great, so I can make sure I'm still on track. Currently I've just been watching good lifters, (Dimas, Hussien) doing cleans, and mimicking them. Its been working out so far, but an explicit write up would be far better.
