Can anyone tell me anything positive about fasting? I need a clean slate to start my new healthy eating habits. I am doing the lemonade diet. I'm on day one. ;( Any feedback would be awesome.

Fasting will increase your metabolic rate for the first couple days. However, after 72 hours, there will be a decrease in your metabolism that continues to decrease as time goes by. A quick search on fasting and its health benefits will fill you in on cleansing properties of fasting.
If you're going to fast, make sure that you just do it every once in a while (two days or less spaced out strategically). Just like everything else in life, it's good in moderation.
I personally fast one day a week because I love the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of it. It's kind of hard to get through the first few times, but it gets easier.

Um...you're drinking lemonade, building acids in your mouth, esophagus, and forcing your stomach to kick in more acids to digest MORE acids? I bet you feel agitated and your teeth must have that " furry, yet stripped peeling" sensation. Squeeze lemon juice on an open wound and tell me that doesn't sting. That's what your digestive system is experiencing by your own actions. Why are you tormenting yourself like this? What's your height and weight? I would suggest that you stop this liquid detox or whatever crap fad junk and reevaluate your goals. What are they? Lose excess fat, gain muscular definition, gain lean bodyweight, be in better cardiovascular health? Does actual food scare you? Eat 5-6 times a day with a 40/40/20 of protein/carbs/healthy fats. Consume lean(er) cuts of fish, poultry and steak for protein sources; whole wheat bread, brown rice, and fibrous vegetables for carbs; nuts, avocados, olive oils, reduced and/or fat free cheeses, skim milk for low fats, etc.

Overall, I'd strongly discourage you from fasting and this lemonade diet. You may lose a few pounds on it, but you are going to gain them back when you start eating real food again.
The best way to detox your body and get a clean start is to just start eating clean. Your body will detox itself if you just feed it right. Skizbees covered that.
And yes, knowing some more about your goals would be helpful too.

Yes, this is not a good idea. Just eat very healthy for a couple weeks, and you will feel great.

Before I started bodybuilding I would go on a juice fast. I'm familiar with the lemonade juice fast your talking about.
The one that has fresh lemon juice, cayenne pepper and Grade B maple syrup. This is a good fast and it alkalize the digestive tract it's not acid in the stomach. However, I would not recommend this type of fast just to eat right. That's not the purpose of fasting.
Now that I'm building muscles I don't fast anymore even though 90% of my fasting were done for spiritual reasons.
Take the eating suggestions that were recommended to you in this thread instead of fasting. This is not the proper method for your health goals.
