Wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing starving in the mornings??
This is what is happening to me.... I workout around 6:00pm and do not get home until around 7:30 or 8:00.... but after my workout I am drinking my whey protein shake with ultra fuel mixed in with it..... So when I get home I am not that hungry..... But I might snack on some fruit.... or have a bit or so of chicken.... So I really dont consider that to be a "meal".... But when I eat like that at night and wake up in the morning I am not "starving".... So when I do eat a "meal" at night and wake up in the morings... It seems like my stomach is going to eat itself..... cause i am starving.... I also notice that I am a about 1 to 2 lbs. heavier when I do eat a Meal at night and then when I dont eat a meal I am 1 to 2 lbs. lighter.....
Has anyone experineced this??? What is my body telling me??? The only thing is I have to get up at 4:45 am to get ready for work and then I have about a 45 min. drive to work....So I dont really have time to get any food in me until I am at work..... Should I eat right when I get up? maybe after my shower?? Is it ok to wait that long to eat if your body is telling you it is hungry?
Any help would be much appreciated...
Thanks everyone!!!

I'm ALWAYS hungry in the morning, I actually think it's a good thing. But, I also always eat in the morning and I eat before bed too.

If I were you - I would make the home made protein bars that are on this forum - grab one and eat it on your way to work - the way that I make them - they have 180 cals - 20g prot, 4.5g fat and 15 carbs. You are getting protein etc - right away rather than waiting for a couple of hours until you get to work - THEN eat your oats etc.
You are a few pound heavier the next morning because you have not gone to the bathroom yet and have your "meal" still there! I work out at 4:30- have my shake at 6:15 - then have dinner - chicken & broc at 7:30 pm- then 1/2 cup cott cheese @ 9:30 before bed - then start the next day off with the protein bar 1st am etc.
You do need to eat right away - you have spent way to many hours sleeping and not eating - that is the longest amount of time you go with no food - your metabolism gets slowed WAAAAAAAY down while you are sleeping - the earlier you can eat the better - get get your body going again.

I eat as soon as I get up. If I wait, I get extremely hungry.
And as barnetjs mentionned, the sooner you eat in the morning, the sooner you get your metabolism started for the day.

I hope you have carbs in that post-workout shake and not just whey :)

Me too. Sometimes hunger wakes me up in the morning. The first thing I do when I get up is eat.

Last year, on weekends, because I was so use to eating at 5-6 am during the week, I use to get up, eat and go back to bed. But then I convinced myself this was a little ridiculous so stopped and got used to waiting until I get up :)

Well I have carbs from milk - I use 1 cup skim milk with my whey (so I have a total of like 17 carbs - whey = 4, milk= 13) then I have dinner about an hour later with veggie carbs!

My husband does this - EVERY night. He gets up around 12 and has cott cheese and PB. It makes me sick that he gets to eat 4,200 cals a DAY!

I have a smiliar situation here. If I stay up late and have to eat something before bed, I'll get very hungry when I wake up the next day (more hungry than usual as if the acid is dissolving my stomach) This only happens if I eat very close to my bed time, say less than an hour before bed time.
The weight gain I reckon is just water and 1 extra meal.

Yep!! It seems when I get home I have like maybe 2 hours before I go to bed and I am not that hungry after just drinking my post workout shake... so if i do eat it is really close to when i go to bed.... and then as soon as i get up i am starving....
Seems like it would be the opposite way around... If you eat then go to bed then you would still have something to be digesting... but if you dont eat then I could see me starving in the morning... but not the case here!!!
Thanks for all the in-put..
I did drink a shake this morning before coming to work!! was around 5:30am!! so just drank skim milk with some whey protein.... usually i will drink some coffee right when i get up and that holds me over.. but i know that is not what my body needs to start my metabolism.... so i am hoping to either make or purchase some protein bars or try to get the shake down after i shower in the mornings....
Does anyone know of a low calorie protein bar that does not bloat you and give you other body function problems :)....... that i can purchase??
Thanks to all!!!
