OKay I am 16 and am just starting to get into weightlifting and watching my weight i wiegh about 165 pounds and I am 5feet and 9inches tall, I want to build muscle but lose the body fat, so i was wondering how many calories should i intake, and wuts the lowest i can intake before my body will go into starvation mode, I usually run for about a hour, box on my punching bag for about 30-60 minutes, and wieght training going to start out at about a hour a session, skiping a day to give my body time to recharge, so ill train, skip, train, skip. I was wondering if that much activitiy will be enough to burn some fat, and wuts a good calorie intake. For burning fat and making muscle.

OH and one more question will it hurt my rebuilding process if i workout on my punching bag for about a hour and weight lift on the same days...
ON the days that i rest i will probaly still run, and do aerobic excersies like basketball and others to keep burning fat...

oh and please list some good websites for differnt weight trainning excersises and how to do them if you can, and need some ideas for adomdial area to get that "six pack"right now ive been doing crunches, military leg raises, and pushups, and situps...for about 3 days(just started dont laugh lol)Any advice would help thanks.

My first bit of advice is to expalin that, while you can build muscle and lose fat, you will not do either very fast. If you choose this route it will be a slow process as fat loss comes from calorie deficit and to gain muscle you must take in more calories than you burn.
My advice, based on this, is to FIRST pursue a program to increase your lean body mass. This includes some more intense resistance training. Work on your legs and back as you can add lean muscle there rather quickly if you work it right.
You will probably gain some 'weight', but remember it is muscle and judge yourself by the mirror, NOT the scale.
After about 3-6 months of this, take a few months and cut, drop the calories slightly under you BMR caloric requirement, this might help

Change your routine to moderate weight and a higher rep range. Stick with this for a couple of months. Not too long as your metabolism will slow down. You will find that the lean mass you added will allow you to drop fat faster, just remember to keep your protein up.
Drink lots of water everyday, 3-5 liters, and get plenty of rest.
Run this cycle back and forth until you see what you want in the mirror. If you look good, IGNORE THE SCALE.
That 6 pack will come when you get your BF levels down and not before.
You are quite young, so don't get impatient, you have plenty of time. Remember that you are now making a choice that you will hopefully stick with for life.
Have fun with it, mix it up, don't let it get "routine and stale". Take a week or two off when needed, but remember to come back.
Good Luck to you, I'm sure the ladies here will add much more than I have. ;)
