View Full Version : Finally Managed a Set of ATG Squats

I've been really struggling with doing full squats with the barbell. Tonight I tried it without the pad and using a small lift under my heels and managed to do about 5-6 ATG in the first two sets and 4 in the third set. I did a few more in each set but not as low. This is still without any weight on the oly BB so it is only 45 lbs but I am very pleased. I read somewhere that it is harder for people with longer limbs to do squats and bench press. I'm not sure if it is true, but I've sure had a heck of a time getting this far.

I'm not sure about bench press but I know people with long limbs have problems with squats and deadlifts at times. I also have very long limbs, particularly legs.

and i thought i was the only one . . . :)
i can manage squats down to parallel but no more than that
the only place where long legs aren't beneficial :D
