My question is what way do you perform the dip to emphasize the pec more... is it with the body forward and the elbows NOT flared out or is it with the elbows flared out to the sides ...thx . ..PEACE OUT my fellow Bodybuilders.

Keeping your elbows out works the chest more. This is with any chest exercise. The closer the elbows to the body the more you work the tricepts.

Another tip is to dip forward to emphasize the chest. That is, don't dip straight up and down. Dip forward with your feet behind you and dip in an arc on the way up. This will emphasize the chest rather than dipping straight up and down which hits the triceps more.

I do dips just how RobD said . Also remember to squeeze your pecs as you push .

I was wondering how you hook weights(dumbells) in between ure legs to add weight to the dips, i cant seem to get the technique to hold them right...

Your best bet is to get a dip belt. You can either purchase one for a relatively cheap price or many gyms already have them that you can borrow. It's basically a piece of leather or cloth that wraps around your waist with a chain attached that you can use to attach the free-weight plates. It's much easier and you don't have to focus on holding the stupid dumbbell.

I personally have never used dips as a chest builder, but I might start.... I use dips for a tri.. but again my arms are close and my body virtually vertical...
