Hello

I was wondering if anyone knows if you can mix and match bench attachments (leg developer, preacher curl, lat tower, etc.). Aren't they all using a 2" square shaft?

The reason I'm asking is that I want the Powertec Utility Bench but unfortunately, they don't make a lat tower attachment. I like the Parabody lat tower attachment but not the Parabody bench. So I want to put the Parabody lat tower attachment (specifically the 848) into the Powertec UB bench. From looking at the pictures it seems possible. I may have to drill a hole for a pin, which I don't mind.

Could I do this?

Love,

Couple things...

Lat attachments that fit in the square holes on benches aren't very stable and wobble considerably.

They also tend to be a tad shorter than stand alone lat machines and lat attachments on power racks, and don't provide a full stretch to users of slightly above average height.

Ok hey, thanks for letting me know your opinion about lat attachments in general. But would you happen to know if you can put a lat attachment made from one manufacturer (Parabody) into a bench made by another (Powertec)?

Thanks

Most of the attachments will "fit" one to another manufacturer, because the standard seems to be 2", however, it's up to you to verify.
Also, the securing apparatus/mechnisms differ from one manufacturer to the other, so that's another thing you need to check. That is, some stuff will fit, but the pin configuration/orientation/location etc. may be different and the unit will have no way of securing.
