I've been looking for an olympic-sized bench recently, because I feel like my standard width one will fall apart anyday now! I finally settled on this one:

I've used Cap barbell weights for sometime now, and been very pleased with the price and quality, so I thought I would try out their bench as well. Most places had it priced around $169-$180, but I was able to find it for $130, Is that a good buy?

One more question for your guys....Since I already own about 400 lbs in standard-sized weights, I really hate the thought of having to go out and buy special 2" olympic ones. Would it be ok if I just bought a 7 ft. standard sized bar, so that I could still use the weights I already have, and have it fit my new bench?

Thanks!

Did you actually lay your hands on it?

I have tested the cap barbell equipment and found it to be quite cheaply made and not very sturdy.
If you are a big guy(200+) and benching decent weight(259+) you need to look elswhere.

Much sturdier

Don't go cheap on something that needs to be heavy duty, you get what you pay for on the cheap end, CHEAP STUFF.

As to your other question, yes, use a GOOD 7' standard bar if you've got all those plates.
I only had about 250 in std so I uses those for dumbells and curl bar and use the olympics for the smith.

Get the BEST you can afford so you won't be second guessing, but wait instead of going cheap.
