How long does it last for? If I was out for 3-4 months would I gain it back in the next 3-4 months. thanks.

Muscle memory last pretty much for ever. However, the older you get the harder it is just because of decreased test levels.

if you were out for 3-4 months you would not get it back in the next 3-4 months. sure, muscle has memory in some ways, you have to think of this as the concept of detraining, that being results obtained are lost twise as fast as you gained them. so if you were out for 3-4 months, you would need 6-8 months to regain. That mostly being strength wise

lol i agree i was out of my workouts for like 5 months and just started getting serious now but im still not back to my old max squat of 375 and max bench of 265... im at like 315 max squat and 225 max bench atm...

No, no, no!

"Muscle Memeory" is a simple term for CNS proprioceptions, which have to due more with innervation and motor unit recruitment than the muscles themselves. It's like riding a bike, you never forget because your CNS has "programmed" itself to "remember" the task. It has nothing to due with losing strength or size in the muscles.(I know I don't belong here, but the thread title caught my eye.)
