Come on, admit it - how many guys actually lurk here, and why?
We're not bothered, come in and have a cuppa by all means. :)
You can even have a biccy if you really want ;)

you know, i actually was thinking about making a thread to introduce myself:D
idk, ive been a member here about 1year + now, but just recently, ive just lost all interest to post in some sections which i wont mention.
basically, like ive said, the female section, which has several dedicated/knowledgable members is one of 3-4 worth while sections at bb.com IMHO. To me, this forum is about learning and helping others while benefiting from it at the same time. it should NOT be about bashing/flameing others, insulting people. telling them they suck or should kill themselves, or discussing the fight between bruce lee or the silverback gorilla:D (humor is fun, but i question the people who then ask for a good bicep routine)
so i come in here, i read the journals and i post in a few threads that catch my eye. its encourageing when in real life, i only know about 3-5people who train/compete like i do, to come here and find PLENTY of women/men that are serious like me.
JC:)
p.s.-am i welcome? is that ok with you ladies?

i'm not a guy but i must say this is the only sane place on the forums ;)
serious, dedicated people who have other things on their minds than sex, sex and sex (did i mention sex?). oh, and the fact women aren't that prone to neg repping each other for ridiculous reasons.

IMO-female, exercise, workout journal.
the PL'ing and roid section are good too, but if youre not on the "kool" with the regulars, you really have to prove yourself and sometimes, its hard to get around that. people are just biased.
IMHO, those are the only worth while sections.

Sure :) welcome to our lil "iron" web community
we will share the pink fluffy dumbbells with u ;)
And yes, i totally agree with ur aforementioned point. Some of the other forums have gotten a little out of control ("I set my foot on fire, should i see a doctor?"). And if i had a dollar for every time i read PIITB on there...

I click on the new posts button so I look at threads from all of the different sections.. I don't even look at which section they are in.. if the title strikes my intrest I will look at the thread.
I try to help anyone I can. And have always been respectful when I post in the female section. Some women are offended when advice is given by a man I have noticed on occasion, and have seen some women who apear very bitter towards men who post in here. It is the female section but men are allowed to post in it, as long as they are respectful. I have reported a lot of idiots for being rude in this section.. everytime I saw it infact.
by the way what is cuppa and biccy?????? lol

Of course guys are welcome! Like I said, help yourself to a comfy chair, cuppa and a biccy! ;)
I don find that some other parts of the forum are really out of control sometimes, and I mean, someone actually neg repped me yesterday - his reason? "u r a retard". Really? Er...okay? :)
It's just a bit daft, but they like to "prove" themselves or something. I have to admit, I know the ones I can kind of get along with, so that's enough for me. :D

Unfortunately, people can do that, but what the hey! Doesn't matter really. :)
A cuppa is a cup of tea or coffee, and a biccy is a biscuit, although the Americans call them cookies. ;)

Yea...I come here...I usually just look to see what the new subjects are and if it is something that I might be interested in then I check it you...no matter what the forum is male or female. But I have to say that I find the female forums much more interesting!! Sometimes the testosterone levels get way too high in the male forums...lol. Plus when you get my age you have to slow down on how much weight and how hard you go at it. Plus all I'm trying to do it look good for my sweetie!!! lol

lol...my new girlfriend (of three years now) sent that to me. I was married almost 27 years and my ex was a big woman...so she thought that was fitting...lol.
I would have thought there were more men lurking here. I don't post much but I do read a lot in this section. It is one of three that are civilized. I post in the over 35 and the steroid section somewhat more often. I read the misc and relationship help but rarely post there as I would be wasting my breath talking to 15 year old children (before they banned porn there were some pretty good pictures, but none could top that orca - hahahaha).
Oops I didn't look at what time this was posted - you will see a lot more replies.

Hey I resent that! It's only the non-serious people who neg rip each other, and those that are 12 years old (or with the mental age of a 12 year old - but no offense to 12 year olds)
I have a look at most of the forums, in fact I'm suprised there is a forum entitled 'Female Bodybuilding' and not one entitle 'Male Bodybuilding' ... as far as I know they are the same thing! I suppose there may be some female specific questions that don't apply to a predominantly male sport which could be put into their own category but...ah I'm not complaining anyway just making an observation!
I've not been flamed once in the other forums, but I guess thats because I'm usually helpful and polite!
I hang around here sometimes and I tend to read a lot of stuff - though some things don't really interest me (there are some quite girly posts here which would damage my machismo if someone were to catch me reading them!)
So hello all!

Yea i post here maybe once a while. What really amuses me about this section are the guys who post here asking for training/supplementation/nutrition advice, somehow bypassing all the sections meant for this. Case in point: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?p=6739783

I'm not much of a lurker since I've been posting a few threads/replies.
Too be quite honest, I find the replies and advice here are much more detailed and mature than the rest of the forum. Plus it seems like there are fewer people here, so it's easier to keep a thumb on who is who.
And yeah, "piitb" is not a common response here, which I am grateful for.

I "lurk" here on occasion. But I only post when I think it's warrented. But as others have said, it's a really good forum with committed and caring members. Much like our over 35 section. I don't get to post as often nowadays, but I still try to follow the interesting threads and journals.

I am usually on here for a few hours a day atm, I think the journal is an awsome section as it shows some of the more serious lifters and there dedication, I'll take you up on the offer of a cuppa, milk no shugar, but will respectfully decline the biccie as I am on a clean bulk atm. I agree that the Roid section is usually interesting, the teen one is the usual chaotic and random place it always is and I would not know about the over 35 part only being 18 myself.

I lurk here from time to time... Often looking for info to help one of my friends... I've even made a few posts on topics that I have a strong oppinon about... But in general I don't post here, simply because it is serene and nice here...
I figured this is a place for the women to hang out and talk, and feel like I'd be invading... I mean 90% of this site is more taylored to men... Why mess with the 10% that isn't taylored to us.
I mean one guy starts posting as a regular here... Then five... Then 10... Then 20... And before you know it we're going to have a bunch of the punks that are polluting other sections coming here and potentially ruining it for the ladies.
So I kind of stay back and respect the ladies' right to have a space for themselves, with out some of the stupid thoughts us guys tend to bring with us.

I can only speak for myself, but I certainly don't mind guys in the forums who are contributing in a positive manner. Okay, I have to ask What is piitb??
If you don't know, you don't want to know.
Regarding the original post, like bubba g, I usually go through the new posts, which does not list the specific forum. If the topic interests me, and if I forget to check that I am in the Female Bodybuilding forum, I will read and/or post. There are two exceptions. One would be threads like this that invite everyone's opinion and the others would be those where the thread is at least a few hours old and no one responded.
Almost off topic, but related to subject matter brought up, you can probably avoid most of the insulting and/or juvenile remarks if you stay out of the Teen Bodybuilding and Misc. forums. Let me add, contrary to popular belief, that the Over Age 35 forum is not all that innocent. Frankly, I think more flirting goes on there than in any other forum. Well, if that's what you like, OK.

I lurk but don't post because this is for you and it shouldn't be turned into a pickup/kiss ass/ladies man hangout.
I like reading things about what you like or don't like about men, and you are more honest about that when talking to fellow women.
And it's a nice place to go when you have had it for a while with the "I'm so bad" attitude found elsewhere. You ladies know what courtesy and etiquette mean, as do the over 35ers.
But if the ladies ever get mad and say "scram" then I would.

I'm a male, though like Irish, I try to give my two cents whenever I can. I usually spend my time here, in the powerlifting section, and with the over 35s, since the responses in these sections are first rate. There is far more community here, less pettyness, and though I know the discussion here focuses on female bodybuilding, I find these boards to be a valuable learning tool for myself and my partner. I could care less what sex / gender you align yourself with - if you are willing and have the means to share your thoughts in positive, open, and helpful manner, then you have my respect.
Thanks everyone, male and female, for making this place such a swell learning environmnet! :)

Personally, I like hearing a guys opinion. Many of the guys who post here are very respectful and are just here to contribute like anyone else. I think the majority of the ones who come here to start ****, ask for naked photos or just want to "school" the women with their "impressive" knowledge of bodybuilding (yeah right) are probably still popping pimples and trying to get into a girl's pants for the first time in the back of their mom's mini-van. Unfortunately a lot of the other bb forums are filled with that B.S. and the "u R a retard" retorts mentioned earlier. I like the Over 35 section, and occasionally I post in The WWE Forum in the Miscellaneous section, but that's about it.

Not everyone starting out feel comfortable posting in those sections. Shyness or have other reasons why they do not feel that confortable posting there. We are so used to taking all "nonsense" questions seriously because we have been living with "the myths" for so long.
Educating and giving out knowledge is what women have been doing for ages....whether the guys realize this or not. The intelligent ones do.
Those that post advice are, at least, seriously interested in what we women are trying, and have been, doing. We do appreciate their comments.
So pull up a chair, pour a cup of coffee, tea or have a whey shake in a quieter, more sane atmosphere. Let the other forums swirl in their chaos.

I admit it, I lurk in the wimmins section. And I also attend group fitness classes at the gym. There, I said it! I feel better now.
I tend to be an equal opportunity forum member. You will usually find me in the 35 and over, nutrition, or here. Quality info, no BS, and likeable people.

Hi, just wanted to say im a guy and I read threads in this forum on occasion when Im bored of the teen ones. Its just alil diff from the "15 year old children" you guys are all talking about because I find it to be more friendly and fun. BTW...theres no offence taken to you guys insulting the younger generation of bbers...we do get kinda "out of hand" sometimes..:)

IMO-female, exercise, workout journal.
the PL'ing and roid section are good too, but if youre not on the "kool" with the regulars, you really have to prove yourself and sometimes, its hard to get around that. people are just biased.
IMHO, those are the only worth while sections.

I very rarely visit the female section, but when I do I am usually suprised at the dedication of some of the women. Actually, I prefer bb.com for entertainment purposes. And Juanca, you are a nerd, lol.

Hey all.
Yeah, I'm a guy, and I pop in here from time to time.
For two reasons.
First- some of the motivation that the gals here show are as insipring (if not more so) as any of the guys.
Second- come on, I'm a red blooded American guy, you gals are HOT! ;-)
edit: I'm hoping that comment is taken in the positive manner it was meant, as a guy who appreciates a well built gal, and not like I'm some closet freak stalking the web or anything.....
I check the forum out every now and then just to see whats going on....check out some pics...check out some workouts...diets etc etc they you ladys are doing now a days...we have some very good looking git females on this board....good work girls...keep it up!!

As a male I use the female forum to get info for training women since there are few articles in any men's magazines and I wouldn't be caught dead with a womens magazine by my friends. No offence I just feel weird when I'm standing in line at the store to buy my sister a mag. This forum just makes it easier for trainers like me to research.

I'm a guy and i check out the female threads from time to time because as inspirational as it is to see a guy go from skinny to buff or overweight to buff there comes a point where I've seen too much shirtless man.
Also sometimes I've read all the guy's threads and to me women who are dedicated are just as inspirational and motivating to my own cause as men.

Well I´ve said before why I like this forum http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?p=5922109#post5922109
But in short. It´s the only sane place on the forums. The girls here answer your questions or comments with words and not grunts and rude suggestions. And I´m not afraid to admit that I check out there pictures once in a while since there´s nothing hotter than a girl in good shape and this forum is just crawling with them

I visit here on ocassion, but do not lurk here. Because of time contraints I spend most of my time on bb.com in the Over 35, Exercises and Supplements sections.
But, when here, I visit because I admire both women and men that take the time to improve their looks and well-being by working out - however they choose. That includes anyone that is out of shape with a desire to get in shape.
I admire and appreciate my girlfriend because she works out and runs. I have been working out for 20 years consistently. I love her body and her, and she loves my body and me :)
I am sure there are pervs that "lurk" here, but sometimes a guy like me can learn something. In fact, I have asked several women trainers for advice on various techniques and exercises at my gym.
We all can learn form each other.
Best of continued success to everyone,
Mark

We look around in here together from time to time. She's a bookworm with school and work right now so not too much time for her these days. I look around to make sure I've got her on the right track, even if I'm off the rails, LOL!!

I wouldn't say that I lurk. I post if I have a good comment and I find myself looking in there more often because the threads are like 56x more intelligent than most of the threads in other forums.

I just started, Dbflygirl answered a post of mine, and gave me a link here, after I read that link I looked around the pages some more. I teach spin, mostly all girls / ladies some of the stuff they ask me, "how do I make my butt / thighs .... do this / that ? " well you ladies have answered it for each other I pass the info to them, and I look like some sort of really smart guy :).
My real problem is once they know me better, they find out I am just a big dumb guy like the rest of em.

My wife and I both compete(bodybuilding:me/fitness:her) and I have always done her training. I read oxygen magazine and read on here sometimes to see if I can pick up any new tricks. You can never learn too much. Breean (my wife) has been competing for a year and a half and she just recently placed 3rd at Jr. Nationals...She is in a couple of the last months oxygen magazines in the back (under the Ronnie Coleman Classic and Jr. Nationals competiton secions) . In the mags her name is shown Breean Loepp. We just got married Sept. 17 and so now its Breean Robinson. Does anybody know if there are any pro fitness girls on here like there are with the pro bb's. I would like to ask a couple questions if so?

unfortunately, no. I tried to find out if such a thing can happen. the mods in here pm-ed admin about it, but i haven't heard any updates...maybe it got shot down b/c of all the men who would bombard them with nonsense and bug them for dates....
just doin it!

This is the women section, not the women ONLY section. I can read it like I read and steroid section even though I'm not a woman and I'm not on juice.
I apply the same philosophy for the womens locker room as well.

Actually, much more complicated and harder to study.... You pinch as well.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
I poke around in here every once in a while for a different perspective on things, and greatly appreciate the mature attitiudes and camaraderie exhibited in this forum. Females just mature at a younger age.... Funny, I have always had several close female friends throughout life as well (wish they trained but they don't really). Just seems that the ladies are not always trying to "prove themselves" to others as so many men are in the other forums and life in general. Having to prove yourself to others on a message board is a sure sign of low self confidence... I just laugh.
Oh and btw, great work and dedication ladies!!! You are the best.

Seriously. I hit every branch when I fell out of the ugly tree. My face isn't a nightmare, it's a day and night mare.
Kids dig it because it is so ugly , it's funny. They laugh and laugh.
I'm proud of my ugliness. I take ugly to a new level. It's trippy being me with my face.
