Obviously overeating is out of the question, but how many calories below maintenance do you cut?

In the morning I feel pretty good (probably because of the coffee), but by afternoon I start feeling weak and have some trouble focusing at work.

Is this normal, or do you think it sounds like I'm not eating enough.

I weigh 170, and based on fat calipers (which I don't think my results are accurate) I am 9-13% body fat. Height: 5'6" or 5'7".

Here is an example of what I had yesterday for 2330 calories:

Food Calories Fat Carb Protein Fiber
flax oil 125 14 0 0
protein powder 130 2 4 23
protein powder 130 2 4 23
cereal and milk 150 1.5 24 2
sweet and sour chicken 600 18 88 22 10
mocha drink 180 3 33 7 0
myoplex shake 280 3 23 42 0
flax oil 125 14 0 0 0
salad dressing 110 9 7 0 0
salad 140 11 11 3 2
grilled chicken 120 1.5 0 24 0
ritz crackers 80 4.5 10 1 0
ritz crackers 80 4.5 10 1 0
ritz crackers 80 4.5 10 1 0

2330 92.5 224 149 12

The ritz crackers were not part of the plan, but I was feeling weak last night and the carbs helped "wake me up."

Here is another day:

Food Calories Fat Carb Protein Fiber
mocha drink 180 3 33 7 0
cereal and milk 150 1.5 24 2
flax oil 125 14 0 0
protein powder 130 2 4 23
mocha drink 180 3 33 7 0
granola bar 100 3 18 1 1
myoplex shake 280 3 23 42 0
flax oil 125 14 0 0 0
6" subway roast beef 290 5 45 19 5
6" subway roast beef 290 5 45 19 5
banana 105 1 27 1 3

1955 54.5 252 121 14

are you dieting for a show?... if you are some things on there should be imo taken out.

- take out the ritz crackers for sure
- sweet and sour chicken.... boiled or grilled instead

If you start feeling weak and are having trouble focusing then you're not getting enough food. Headaches are a sure sign of this. Unless you are prepping for a contest then give your body the fuel it needs.

It depends on your bodytype, I start with 300kcal below maintenance then adjust from there as I go. I'm a meso-ecto. Energy loss can be a normal part of a contest diet. But if you're not competing I wouldn't recommend it.
