You bunch of rebels, creating you're own thread. I am SO jealous of all 5 of you having you're own country thread.

Does that mean you're just going to post in here and not post in the other "American" threads? As any thread that isn't the official Candian or Aussie thread must be American since bb.com is an American company.

Seriously, don't you think this will create a little animonsity in the over 35 forum?

Good morning Canadian neighbors! The air has a nip in it here as well and plenty o' frost to go around.
Being SO close to the border here, Canada is like a second home. Problem is, with the favorable dollar situation, the Canadians are cleaning out all the stores over here...literally! There was a report on the news yesterday that the stores at the Galleria Mall are either out, or running out of just about everything, so much so, that they actually reported that we might not have anything left to buy for OUR Christmas LOL! Traffic is backed up on local roads and the interstate as well, with people flocking in. I saw an accident the other day on the bridge...a guy from Toronto and a guy from Buffalo, they started arguing about it and a Hockey game broke out! It's getting pretty bad here, but we love our Canadian neighbors, & your money as well, so keep on spending!
Have a great weekend all!

Heya Penney! I think most of Canada is still snow free, but I just read the post below this one!
Snow comes way too early.

Started out working for a large Door company here in Ottawa. We did everything that had anything to do with doors and/or glass. I eventually went out on my own and did well there taking on a more diversified roll with contract installations of just about anything on new construction. Had a small crew of 2-6 at different times and made some good money subcontracting for a handful of companies. Also did much welding on site and in my shop for special fabrications. Taking a break from it with some goal changes my wife and I decided on. Thinking about a small metal fabricating operation next summer. IDK. Not sure yet. Right now my funds are tied up and we survive ok on the wife's income. A couple different internet things also help out some.
I get out in the field occasionally to help out a buddy who has a door company of his own. May get into something new in a partnership with him that promises short days and good money. In no rush right now though. ;)

A sales person at one of the companies I did work for tagged me with the nickname MacGyverDel since I was able to resolve any issues that might arise in a situation on site. :)

Nice to know some of the history behind the soon to be bb.com legend.;)
Especially your username.:)
My dad did a lot of work with steel frames, doors, locks, and security mechanisms. He started off welding and built his way up.
He used to make me work for him in summer.
And the last time I went to work for him, the last day before I went back to university we had a chat.
We're grimy from he day, covered in dirt, metal shavings, sweat etc.-he looks at me and says "Remember what we just did and how we earned our money today.
Now get your butt back to school, get an education, so you never have to work like this again"
thank goodness I listened.:)

Have a good Tuesday Del.

There is something to be said about building something, and being able to go back 10 or more years later and say "I made that".
I can't do that with my job, 90% of the time I have no idea where or what happens to the teens I work with.
Retirement is looking better everyday, maybe in Florida. :p

Tickets are $25 for the night show and $15 for the morning show. To me this is quite expensive ......since this is just a small organization. Bodybuilding is not a huge sport here in New Brunswick. So at our comps there are no pro cards awarded, no big name guest posers, very little prize money ( $500 for the overall winner and a free website set up). Its also a non tested event so open to the natural bb'ers and the pro hormone users.

$50-$100???? Thats a lot of bucks!

Am I allowed in here?

I grew up in Buffalo (1/2 mile from the Canadian border)
I miss Brewers Retail. Every trip back to Buffalo, we need to buy 2 cases to bring back (Bradores or Molson Canadian)
Tim Horton's Donuts are do much better than Krispy Kreme
You haven't really camped until you batled the blackflies at Algonquin Provincial Park
My 6 year old (gasp) loves the Leafs
New Years Eve's aren't the same if you don't celebrate them in Nathan Phillips Square
My first love lives in Etobicoke
The best radio station is CFNY. Nothing else comes close

I'll understand if I'm not allowed in, but I did grow up with plenty of Canadian influence. I feel part Canadian!

I made this thread for all to enjoy, for newer members to find a friendly starting point, have some conversation with Canadians or about Canada, clear up some misconceptions (we don't live in igloos or consistantly say "eh"):D, and perhaps discuss Canadian bodybuilding news.

I think those new to us will find us a friendly bunch of folks.:)

Chrisbute, I've never had a Krisy Kreme donut, don't know what the fascination with them is "aboot"?:D
I imagine it would NOT fot in to my diet right now, so I'll have to wait.

Morning everybody. Hope all is well north of the 49th parallel. Love the thread, very cool idea. I am a Canuck transplant living in the Caribbean, and at the risk of sounding condescending, I would kill for a nice cold day and seeing the seasons change. Been south for almost 4 years and you actually get tired of the heat and really miss the changes around you.

Anyway, I digress...........was hoping that some of you in the GTA (which now seems to spread from Ajax to Grimsby) might be able to help me out. I am returning at Xmas for a short visit (will be bouncing between Burlington and Niagara to be more specific) and I need to find a good shop to buy some supplies for a show that I will be competing in in April 08. I am going to need tanning supplies, show briefs, likely some new supplemenst, etc. I am so out of touch with the area, I wouldn't know where to go and I can't get any of this stuff where I currently am. Can anybody recommend a store or shop that has quality stuff and is relaible and knowledgeable?????????

Thx.........Schulzy.

This i never expected with our dollar rising.

Hey Del, congrats on sea 5! Did you get approached by a mod to start it? Are they taking turns starting them?
And I've moticed a lot of members left, and now have come back to that sea. Do you know why?
and since we're talking about it-any suggestions on posting in there?
How can I enter without seeming like an intruder? There's a bit of a clique in there, but its friendly.:)

I noticed on the news a couple weeks ago about the empty shelves.
I can sea people being upset when they must go out of their way to shop.

The Sea

Well at this point I have some knowledge on it's history and links to closed veraions I go through sometimes but in the end it's a Safe Thread in the misc. and anyone is welcome. Many members from other areas of the site will post in there but no other misc threads. Everyone is encouraged to chat and have fun. Currently it's newness and the holiday have it moving quicker than normal but it will calm some soon. It has had a rocky summer changing a few times but we hope it will be fine for a while.
Originally when I started there I was posting gif's like crazy and that caused contrversy so now we try to limit that activity to Top Posts Only and we also are trying to keep a PG-13 rating.
Roxie discussed the change with me before hand and again anyone can feel safe to post there. ;)
On the first page we have a few rules suggested as a guideline but a number of mods will help enforce it if need be. It isn't for everyone but obviously I enjoy it there. :)

I workout at the Y Downtown near the Bay. Putting in about 10 hours a week right now, 4-5 days a week when I can.

By April I want to be down to 10% BF or lower, have a respectable set of abs (not necessarily hard-cut, just distinctive) and to be able to clearly see that nice vien down the center of my bi's. Seem to be trading fat ounces with muscle ounces pretty evenly. My weight's barely changed the last two months despite the improvements so I don't have a weight goal right now. Guess that's probably a good thing, eh ;)

No, Shaun Campbell, president of the IDFA has not scheduled any Master Pro classes in his 2008 shows. He wants to really "grow" his Open Pro class before he brings back the IDFA Master Pro group.

WNSO-FAME introduced the Master Pro Division for Men's and Women's Bodybuilding, Figure, Fitness and Men's and Women's Muscle Model in 2007. I am entered in the 2008 FAME Grand Master Pro World Championships on June 14, and I will compete in the 2008 FAME North American Grand Master Pro Championships in Miami October 31-November 2. I am the current (2007) FAME North American Grand Master Pro Champion. I am also the 2007 NPC Mr. Alabama Masters Champion (my final amateur show).

I'm sorry you feel/felt that way. For me it's more because I am trying so hard to get into competition shape and then I see someone who isn't even competing and they look better than me! ARGH!!!! But being your 20s is defintiely differnet than being in your 30s.

My motivating factor though is a have a pic from from an old Oxygen magazine (2006) and in the future of fitness pics there a pic of a woman who is 36 and she looks amazing - like stage ready! It also helps her name is Leanne :D too and she is a cop (which is the dream job I am pursuing). So, I keep on pushing. :)
